We're about to redo some of the aquaponics system in the back yard so I thought I'd share the last version with my fellow gardening Hiveans before we edit both the system and the video about it.

The video was taken back in the cold weather (gee, I miss that cold weather!) but it's the best I've done for the old system design.

It's easy to write off a piece of road verge as weed infested and up to the council to look after.

Me, though, I see it as valuable realestate and a potential farmable area. The weeds on it can tell us so much about the soil conditions that they are no longer weeds, but bioindicators and soil testing kits.

Have a watch and see what I mean.

Hi!

Welcome to my first video for 3Speak! It's my first post for the Silver Bloggers community too! Too many firsts .

It's a little run through on our DIY mini greenhouse/mushroom farm/mucelium dryer.

It's made from an old pickle barrel, some excess acrylic and a reclaimed solar panel from a pond pump. Oh yeah there's a repurposed computer fan in there too!

In Winter it is a greenhouse and the fan controls the humidity, it can also be a mushroom fruiting chamber at that time too. In Summer, it serves to dry my mycelium sculptures (more about that later when I'm famous for them)!
