5 of us went to pauper at Fantasy Games. We cover all our decks and records. What we saw while we were there, and who won. Then Derric shares his dislike of stickers.

Jonathan and Val tell us about some cards they like in Commander Legends 2: Baldur’s Gate.
New Capenna isn't exactly New, but we've been busy and finally got a chance to open our Prerelease Kits. We all have some thoughts about the set. Then Joe tells us about some changes and updates to 2 decks in his pauper collection ( find one here https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/pauper-black-burn#paper ) We discuss some decks that were named after cereal (I think we need to do a longer episode about this.) Derric talks about some commander deck beliefs he has and a new deck.
Valentine mans the news desk, giving us all some updates on upcoming sets. Including the much anticipated Dominaria United. Jonathan's new commander deck hopped it's way into play. Derric opened some "vintage" cards for a new commander deck. Joe has a bunch of new Legacy decks, so we had to try those out. We started playing out our pauper bracket, wish us luck, it's a lot of magic to play out.
Jonathan and Val are absent this week, so Joe and Derric cover a bunch of topics. Legacy, check. Pauper, check. Proxies, check. Pioneer and Explorer, check. New Capenna, check. Tell us what cards you think will be all-stars from New Capenna. Derric realized AFTER recording that Pioneer is not exactly the format/sets he thought. Prior to Pioneer was a community created format called Front ier, that was in fact Khans of Tarkir forward. Pioneer is Return to Ravnica forward (Sounds like the format for Scotty.)

Matthew joins us to ring in the New Year, which included a lot of shenanigans. We play a lot of commander. Jonathan experiences his first infinite combo. Matthew shares some of his favorite combos. Valentine isn’t with us this week, she was off doing Christmas with her mom. …and we find out about the elves that are out to get Santa.
We gather after Christmas on Boxing Day, because well we were to busy on Christmas Day. We play some commander but don’t get to talk about it. Discuss the gifts we got before and then open some on the cast. Legos were popular this year. And of course Magic stuff is.
Half of the crew finishes their commanders decks. Lucky for Derric and Val, Derric already has some decks they can use. Derric asks the digital age kids about Magic Arena and Alchemy. 2022 is around the corner so we talk about some Magic related goals and hopes.
This week we talk about Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Cards. Mana rocks and commander and how they go together. Christmas wishlists. Then end the show with some non-magical hobbies and pass times.
Prerelease time again! We do a 4 person draft. Talk about mechanics and themes we saw. Then finish up with some cards that we really liked.
Joe and Derric get together for a "family" tradition roughly 15 years old now, and find a way to connect it to magic somehow.

Derric returns for some quick follow-up on how his legacy tournament went (not so well in terms of winning.)
Joe, Jonathan, and Valentine are busy with some other things, so Derric made the long drive to hang out with Matthew and his local friend Jake to prep for a legacy event. Then drive more for the legacy tournament at Post Board Gaming in Findlay, OH. If you happen to be in the area check out the store. It was a very well run tournament. Joe, Jonathon, Val, and Derric get together for Memorial Day. They are joined by long time friend and House Historian Matt. We share some favorite magic memories and talk about Modern Horizons 2.
Joe and Jon take their twelve pauper decks and have an impromptu tournament between the two of them. Decks were ranked and then seeded high vs low. Surprises quickly shook up the expected outcome.
