As social media blows up with one Olympic controversy after another, the avengers of woke-ism take to their feeds belittling us regular Janes who are not Greek Scholars (for shame) or Genetic Scientist (double shame). Are women really to be silent in all church affairs? Have we taken 2 passages in letters written to the church and created generation after generation of women being silent in kingdom advancement. Laurie knows there are exceptions out there and there are women fighting for God's order and Christ's salvation, but what about all of those who have put on head coverings of named inadequacies because, they've been taught, the battle doesn't belong to Lord who has equipped women but the battle belongs to the men who sit in church boardrooms behind closed doors.

Taking risks and challenging long-held doctrines, Laurie doesn't advocate for women to take over a man's role in church affairs, but rather for women to step into their God-given spiritual gifts and affect change in the world.

God is at work and that is our hope. But deception ... or lies better said ... is at work as well. Could we make 2024 the year of truth? Because truth doesn't belong to the person but is actually a person - Jesus Christ- it's time to speak out. In Jude's letter (Bible book), he admonishes his readers and all of us to contend for the faith for sexual perversion had seeped into the church. Is this true today? God is with us. What a powerful thought, that He, during times of immense trouble, the world in Chaos and the spirit of delusion seeping into minds all around us, is right beside us willingly guiding us through the crisis. Zechariah 9-14 hosts duel prophecies--one of which was fulfilled with the first coming of Christ. As nations line up against Israel, will we see this prophecy reach its second fulfillment in the second return of Christ.

We had our first experience with a Cowboy church! It was great and as we church hunt in our new town, I'll let you know how it goes, but that Cowboy church welcomed us in with great warmth and chocolate chip cookies. So far so good. But getting to the Word, If Christ is light and life, and if Christ lives in us, what does this mean for us? Looking again at John 1:1-5 and the Greek word logos, we talk about Christ being the light which is the life of men. Darkness can't over come light, we're told. What the heck does that mean? According the Scripture it means, when we see ourselves as the light of Christ and not just as walking with the light, our purposes becomes clear. We're to be the conduit, the light method of Christ that draws people out of the dark and to His light. As the moon reflects the sun, we can shine for Christ.

In so many of his personal stories, King David is a living foreshadow of Christ. This is true in the story of David's raids in 1 Samuel 30, which is a foreshadow of Matthew 20, the parable of the Vineyard. The point is, we tend to base our ideas about heaven on our own, shadowy earth values. But Jesus, time and again, said, "The kingdom of heaven is like ..." What we learn in this story of David and the parable of Christ is that in Heaven, reward is based on Love, which is what God is. And we know He so loved the world ... that even those who show up at the last hour, even those who've been too tired to labor in these huge fields of harvest ... God's love is generous.

Laurie's latest sleepless night was centered on Gideon, the farmer who lived in a time when villages were pillaged and plundered and villagers oppressed. God had more to teach Laurie--to show her more about this brave but very ordinary man who never doubted God, but doubted his own abilities. I'm contemplating love and feeling the prick of conviction. Can I really attain godly love--the love attributes spoken of in the Word of God (1 Corinthians)? I am to be like God and mirror Him to the world. But ... what if these verses of love excellence were a description of Him? What if these declarations of love point the way to love without guilt or oppressive condemnation? Can we really love like God? Not fully, but with one love victory after another, we will mirror Him.
According to 2 Peter 1, we add attributes a to our growing faith until we reach brotherly love. That I can do -- one love step, one victory at a time.

Addendum to the Episode 6, BEWARE OF THE THREE - the three questions/statements Eliab dumped on David. Words of doubt and guilt, slaying David' s character before David was to slay a giant. Sometimes the enemy sneaks up right before step into our purpose. In the addendum, we reaffirm that you're not what the enemy says you are. There are 12 names I use to remind what God says you are and because He made you--you can know these titles and attributes about you are true.
As a bonus, we look a the current buzz around Dolly Parton and her now-public dream about God's displeasure with our culture. Are dreams still used today? Visions? Yes. I had a vision long ago while in the depths of doubt. But though I was sin despair, the Lord showed me His plan. Twenty years ago He showed me I'd be leading a team (herd of warriors into battle. This is us now, Warrior. Let's go!
