Jake starts off the new series "The Offices" talking about three key figures that were often anointed with oil: prophets, priests and kings. Messiah, or Christ, literally means "the anointed one." In other words, Christ isn't Jesus' last name! It is actually a title given to Jesus because he is the true anointed one, who fulfills all three roles: prophet, priest, and king. This is called the Threefold Office of Christ.

This week, Jake teaches about the importance of loving our enemies, and how it even is a way by which we love ourselves. While the world tells us to hate our enemies, Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matt. 5).

The fourth sermon in our "Ascend" series in which we learn about climbing up God's mountain and descending God's mountain. The key to descending God's mountain is to be persistent - even though the descent is hard, and we might be leaving a spiritually high moment, we need to persist and testify to others of the glory and goodness of God.
