Meet Julia. She has built a community on IG based on her own experiences with grief. In a place where it all feels superficial, she makes sure to educate people and share resources with those who need it.
Julia Morin is a writer and a grief specialist, educator and advocate, as well as the face behind the Instagram community @girl_meets_grief, which she launched over Mother’s Day weekend in 2021. She is a childhood parent loss survivor whose mother died suddenly and tragically nearly 30 years ago, two months after she turned eight years old—and less than one week after Mother’s Day —and she has experienced a number of other losses in her life.
She is fiercely passionate about normalizing conversations and ending the stigma around grief, as she continues to navigate the various manifestations of this significant early loss. Passionate about work around mother loss and childhood loss, as a result of her lived experiences. Her approach to grief support is rooted in the belief that grief, like love, lasts forever–and while we never “get over” it or “move on,” we can learn to move forward with it, live alongside it, and integrate it into our lives.
Julia’s writing on grief and mental health has been published by Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Mighty and The Manifest-Station among others, and she has been a guest on podcasts including Got Grief, How to Grieve and Daughters Without Moms as well as a live appearance on The Power of Love Show with TJ and Taj Jackson of the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation.

That is the million dollar question! And the right answer is... it depends? If you're super new to selling online and don't have a shop yet, consider Etsy as your first shop. If you're more experienced and can handle learning a new software (Shopify, WooCommercer, Gumroad, etc.) then you can forget about Etsy.

I got a very good question the other day, from Elizabeth, I got me thinking about those more "businessy" things that you need to do throughout your business journey. So I'm sharing those steps that I took before I started my business, and all the way two six figures.
✅ Steps I took:
- Step 1: Get your EIN from the IRS website
- Step 2: Register an LLC
- Step 3: Open a business bank account
- Step 4: Get QuickBooks
- Step 5: Get a business credit card
- Step 6: Decide on payment methods
- Step 7: Filing for S-Corp status
- Step 8: Put yourself on payroll
