Musicologist and classical radio host Kylie Harwell of Guarneri Hall has been providing day-to-day coverage of the prestigious 2020 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. In this final episode of the special Fischoff series for The Green Room, we catch up with a few of this year's winners to hear their reactions.
This third episode of The Green Room includes interviews with our returning 2020 Fischoff Competition contestants—now all finalists—including the Quantum Clarinet Trio and the full Balourdet String Quartet, along with esteemed juror Norman Fischer. Hear their views on the importance of competition as a means of personal and musical growth.
In the second episode, we hear from Fischoff Artistic Director Tom Rosenberg with some festival history as well as juror Rebecca McFaul, violinist with the Fry Street Quartet. We'll also hear updates from clarinetist Elena Veronesi and cellist Johannes Przygodda of the Quantum Clarinet Trio (Paris, France), and violinist Angela Bae of the Balourdet String Quartet (Houston, Texas).
