Discipline means to do exactly what you say you’re going to do in order to figure out if what you’re doing is the right thing to do. A lack of discipline does not give you the specific information needed to know where a change is needed.
Awareness of the details needed to accomplish your goals and the self-awareness needed to know what you are actually doing is a critical part of Grit.
To have Grit you must be unconditionally committed to the accomplishment of your goal and conditionally committed to the process if you run into an obstacle that requires a different approach.
When you take ownership of your goals like you would your car you naturally accept the responsibility of caring for it. It’s your car, you decide how you are going to use it and care for it.
In the pursuit of accomplishing your goals it is important to stay true to and live your values so you can find fulfillment and happiness in your daily life.
