Jared Kosanovic, has completed his Ride to End Polio across the continental United States.
Jared was a participant in the totally self-supported BikeNonStop.com race that began at Trillium Crossing in Portland, Oregon on June 27, 2021; Jared crossed the finish line today, July 21st, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC.
When Jared heard that Austrian Rotarian Kurt Matzler could not participate in the annual Race Across America, he established a fundraising link to The Rotary Foundation, choosing polio eradication as the focus of his ride. Along the 3,472 mile route, wearing the Rotary Ride to End Polio jersey, he raised awareness and over $6,300 for Rotary's Polio initiative, surpassing his initial goal of $1/mile.
Every year for the last eight years Mauricio and his family have delivered christmas to the kids in isolated villages in the Ecuadorian mountains. Share his emotion as he talks about New Years.
Today were with District Governor Cindi O’Neil as she tours the Eugene Mission. This is so much more than just a homeless shelter. They have huge refrigerators and freezers. They take the excess food from restaurants and redistribute it throughout the community. They house seniors, families, children. They warehouse clothing, furniture and household goods on their seven and a half acres. This is a central hub for giving in Eugene and Rotary is a major partner in all aspects of their service.

This is a unique and very successful program that brings art into the classrooms at Eugene 4J school district.
