The world’s largest caravan built with interlocking plastic LEGO bricks has been unveiled today at the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015 to celebrate 130 years of leisure caravanning this year. The LEGO brick caravan was certified the world’s largest by an official Guinness World Records adjudicator with celebrities Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty and Matt Baker laying the final bricks.
Built by a team of 12 LEGO Certified Professional Builders over more than 1,000 man hours, the 2.2m tall and 3.6m long model caravan features a full interior with working electric lights, sink with running water, fridge, simulated cooking facilities, a bed and seating – just like the real thing. It’s been decked out with plenty of items made of LEGO bricks that you’d find in a real caravan, including chess set, toothbrushes, frying pan, and even milk in the fridge!
The model is based on a ‘teardrop’ style caravan and, as part of a unique feature in Hall 12 at the show, will sit side-by-side with the real thing from 13 – 18 October 2015 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Become a motor caravan manoeuvring master! The Caravan Club is offering free expert tuition at the show. These sessions will improve your skills and help build confidence. You’ll be driving a motorhome alongside a fully qualified Caravan Club instructor. Bookings will be taken for the courses on The Caravan Club Stand in hall 20 during the show. Slots are 20 minutes long and don’t forget to bring your driving licence.

New industry standard in touring caravan identification.
VIN Chip is the new theft deterrent and identification system for touring caravans. VIN Chip has been launched to deter criminals looking to steal touring caravans and help aid the identification and recovery. It is unique as it uses both visible and invisible markings containing a touring caravan’s specific 17 digit VIN.
VIN Chip comes as standard on all UK 2016 touring caravan models manufactured by NCC members. Each unique VIN is linked to the official CRiS database (Central Registration & Identification Scheme).

Building the world’s largest LEGO ® brick caravan - To celebrate 130 years of leisure caravanning this year, the team behind the national Motorhome & Caravan Show is aiming for a new Guinness World Record by building the largest ever touring caravan made entirely1 of LEGO bricks. Requiring more than 150,000 individual interlocking plastic LEGO bricks, the life-size model caravan will be completed and officially unveiled to the world on Tuesday 13th October – the opening day of the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015 at the NEC, Birmingham. It will feature a full interior, with working electric lights, sink, simulated cooking facilities, bed and seating enabling people to get inside.

Carl is also a life-long fan of caravans and motorhomes and he will officially open the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015 on Tuesday 13th October.Carl will go on to speak in the Experts Theatre (Hall 9) about his career racing motorbikes on road and track, staying in leisure vehicles and his love of getting into the great outdoors before coming back later in the day to answer audience questions. He will also be signing autographs in the Hall 11 feature area. Foggy said: “I’m really looking forward to opening the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015 as I think more people should get into the outdoors and explore the UK, and caravans and motorhomes help you to do that. I’ve spent my career using leisure vehicles to stay at racetracks across the country and I’m looking forward to spending more of this summer touring in a motorhome.
