How do you feel about your career? Do you find it purposeful? Do you enjoy what you do?
Does your health play a part in your life journey? Does it stop you from being you? What can you do to change this?
Are you happy with the relationships in your life? Are relationships important to you?
Lez talks about career, health and relationships and how they play a major role in success and purpose in your life. We over complicate just about everything we do in our lives as a middle aged male because we never look at just how the simple things have the biggest impact.
Lez talks about the 3 simple pillars that make up the midlife mindset success strategy. Purpose, Commitment and Support. He outlines the simple yet powerful principles that enable the middle aged male to reinvigorate their MOJO and get back into living their life with purpose ensuring they start to live life on their terms, with a focus on becoming "the leader of their own lives"
One important question to ask ourselves is “do I want to be in control of my life or will I just let things play out, and what ever happens, happens and I’ll just go with the flow?” Lez talks about how we can get our MOJO back and regain control of our mid life if we want to. It’s time to get control back and make the most of the next decades of our lives. Lez shares his own experiences with health and family as well as his experience working as a Registered Nurse especially working with and sharing stories with the elderly members of our community. Don’t let your latter years dictate who and what you are, or what you could be. It doesn’t have to be this way.
It’s fascinating how we will only make a decision to change, (that being a positive decision) because the pain of remaining how we are right now is more painful than what it would be if we actually decided to make a change. I talk about my father. He had tried to give up smoking for 20+ years without success but the moment he went to the doctors and the GP told him you either give up smoking or smoking will kill you, It was at that moment that he never smoked again. This is the perfect example of the pain of change is less than the pain remaining the same, and unfortunately this is where a lot of us have to get to, before we implement change in our lives that is good for us.
This episode is about a middle-aged man who is physically and emotionally tired and struggling to get themselves off the canvas. In today’s episode Lez talks about getting our Mojo back by implementing three specific pillars, Purpose, Commitment and Support. Lez shares with you a personal story that impacted his life and made him realise that he needed to change. He then talks about the implementation of the three pillars and how significant this was in his own journey and the impact it had on his life.
What’s working for you in your life that’s making a difference positively and what’s not working for you in your life that’s making a difference negatively. It’s time to do a pros and cons list, get out a sheet of paper and write down on one side what’s great about your life and what’s working for you and on the other side of the page right the things that have a negative impact, the things that aren’t working in your life. Now have a look at the two lists and see what kind of balance you have between the positive things that you and the negative things that you do. It’s that simple, Now just check how out of balance your list really is, and now objectively we need to get our list to balance. Either remove some of the negative aspects of your life and replace them with more positive influences that make a difference. The goal is to create balance and if you must over balance, make sure it’s towards the positive side.
We all compare ourselves to what we used to look and feel like, but the fact is we are all getting older and while it’s great to remember how good it was when we were younger healthier and stronger, it’s time to look at being older healthy and strong. Yes it’s a lot different but it’s a lot better than letting your body and mind deteriorate because of the ageing process. It’s all about becoming the leader of your own life and making sure that you are the best version of what you have to work with right now. The fact is you’re never going to be as fit and strong and agile as you once were in your younger years, but that doesn’t mean you have to put your cue back in the rack just yet. You still have a lot of living to do yet and you want to do it with quality, so don’t let deteriorating health ruin your opportunity.
