I love this song the dates you yes but it's appropriate it is very appropriate the heat is on and I always say that heat is gone you know and you know the game is on too because it's that time of year we aren't going to get out of this alive what we are but we're not going to get out of this without hitting 90s in 100 degree weather this summer and it's brutally hot here in Austin yeah and the other thing is our utility costs are going up so at the same time that the costs are going up if your commissioner is working less efficient I mean you could end up spending thirty 4050% more on your energy bills this coming summer than you did last summer just because all these different factors that are kind of hitting oh nothing's the same anymore everything costs more money everything yeah you can't buy a gallon of milk or a gallon of every whatever you buy it's more so but those energy costs have gone way up while we haven't gone up $49 that's still that's a good that's a great price that's great we went down yeah that's a great price because we find that people do they really do need us and sometimes they just need a little encouragement so we can go out there and look at it and see what they need and make sure that everything is performing like it should be I'm going to give out your number Tom he is answering the phones today so say hi to Pete when you call everybody the yeah it could be anything that's the thing hopefully it's not a compressor or something you know a lot of times it's not it's usually like like you're saying a capacitor fan motor went out either upstairs in in the attic space you know the blower motor or the outside fan something's gone wrong with that sometimes it's a contactor I mean sometimes it can just be the littlest things I had a customer we did last year we know what did this the inspection and I'm like that your contactor is just about shot I think we should go ahead and replace that today it's pretty to go at any time alright well it's still work I think we'll hold off Oh my he calls me like on a Saturday afternoon about 3-4 in the afternoon two or three weeks later unit is not coming on at all it's like it's probably the contactor go back out sure enough it's the contact her now he's gotta pay you know another service call it just cost him more money we could have just took care of we were there plus I couldn't get till till Monday so it's like that's why we do this up front let's look at it and see what you need because we're not going to go out there and say oh you need this this and this if you don't need it and we could even show you why it's about ready to go you can just tell like you can even look at like capacitor stuff you'll talk to even kind of blew out they start to swell up and they're like OK it's about over for this we probably go ahead and replace that you're going to have to replace it now or in six weeks from now in the six weeks from now might be a Sunday afternoon might maybe you have a party of people over and now your Commission is not running so that's why we do this let's look at it up front but main thing let's just make sure it's tuned up just like a car you make sure everything's running right make sure you have air in the tires make sure everything is good it's but people can look at their car and see all that stuff but erasure they don't they don't know what's going on you can't tell which freon is in it by looking at the outside of the unit to put gauges on it look at it let's look at it and go from there (512) 525-8438 is the number to get a they go quickly is a lot of my listeners are smart people and like 49 bucks I'm going to get this done now because what ends up happening is you're going to be set for the season and it guarantees that so if they're going to go through all these steps to get it done and you won't have to worry about it this summer you have to worry about things breaking down because you said you can usually see what what's coming just like anything you can normally see it coming if you're just kind of pay attention to what you're looking at especially if you have an expert looking at it they can tell you this well just like you're saying your taxes you know you like you know you need to be saving for that or they need to be being paid up it's not a big surprise on April 15th comes around it comes around every year just like the summer it comes around every year and it gets hot every year it's just as hot or hotter than the last year and then if your unit every year it's a little bit older a little bit older it's getting a little bit more a little weaker you know you might have a system that's B 1516 years old and you're like you know what I'm tired of putting money in this thing every summer I put three or four items in it it's like I just want to replace it with a new system and we may say you know what that system was only a 12 or 13 seer system why don't we put a high efficiency system in and that system will actually end up paying for itself overtime because it is so much more efficient so maybe if you have a 12 seer system and you put a a 24 seer system and just saying for round numbers that's that system costs half as much to run as the 12th series so that's what that clear rating means the lower the higher this year the more efficient the unit is so if somebody tells you I got to you know an old system it's 25 years old it's still running that thing is eating them out of house and home to run it they're not really doing themselves any favors you'd be better off with a newer system that has a higher seer rating which is going to make it much more efficient maybe a multi speed system all kinds of different things that are available multi zones we can you know we do maybe a mini split and there's all kinds of different options so give us a call we'll come out look see what you have and if you do decide you know what I just want to get a whole new system we'll just take the $49 and apply it towards the new system so it really is going to cost you anything to do it anyways exactly the people who know they have a problem Tom and I kind of alluded to this earlier know they have a problem right it's that whole thermostat thing like I was saying if you try to get it down to 7 to two or even more aggressive you want to sleep in 68 or 67 at night by the way if you having trouble sleeping cool off your room so let's say they start toggling down and they go and they're like 67 sounds cool 9:00 o'clock at night it says 73 they can't get past 73 right even worse when the sun is out but they still have the problem at night because the system has an issue could be low on freon that's often a big one right there could be a number of things wrong with it and if you don't have enough refrigerant in there anymore you won't get it down to where you want it to guarantee you that if you lose so much freon you'll have to have it charged again that's right yes that's not going to extract the heat out of the air like it should or the coils are real dirty there's a lot of things that could be that's why we just start with the $49 special and go from The checkout pro radio show starts now doesn't work hello everybody welcome to the checkout pro radio show I am check a pro Joe and it is great to have you here each and every week you know we're heading into the warmer months but I will say living here in Austin yeah it's always pretty nice all year round sometimes we get some cold snaps but from here on out until the fall we're going to be in to the heat hot hot hot hot I've asked my friend Tom from garada come on in to talk to you and me about how you can be more comfortable in your home and you can save more money and what I like to say have some Peace of Mind and dependability with your HVAC system you've heard of HVAC don't know what it is basically it's your heating ventilation and air conditioning system this time of year we really really focus on air conditioning Tom welcome to the show thanks for having me appreciate it absolutely my friend I need you here my listeners need you what happens when we go into spring and summer it gets hot hot hot hot hot and we are dependent upon here in Texas on air conditioning have to have it there there's there's no option right no I was gonna say you know Austin TX Houston all these cities in Texas without air conditioning there wouldn't be many people living here exactly now it's like the the best place on earth to live oh we have air conditioning in the economy is good and everything's good except for it gets hot but you know everything's climate controlled so if we can keep the climate inside the house is nice you know it's nice in the evenings in the mornings it's not so bad so we get kind of used to the heat but yeah we're definitely you know what we do is make sure that your air conditioning systems perform properly to make the inside of your house really comfortable keep the the humidity levels in check make sure we're keeping that temperature down and hopefully keeping everything is trouble free as possible so we don't want a lot of hiccups so you know that's the worst thing that can happen it's like putting out you know on 72 degrees we got our first hundred degree air today and then oh air conditioner what's going on the air conditioner it stopped you know what I mean and then you're like ohh no oh guess what it's Saturday afternoon when that happened oh and now we can't get anybody out here and you can't get parts it's like so that's why we would like to do an inspection you know people always say you know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure because it is so true because if you can see things coming it's so easy when you come up go out look at something like oh this look it's gonna be lasting maybe six more months on this this part here is really working inefficiently we can correct it so we can really limit the amount of breakdowns that you're going to have throughout the summer I wanna thank you up front and I'm sure I'll thank you later on in the show as well because I'm not kind of guy I like to thank you for things and my listeners are gonna thank you you're very welcome Tom is offering a very good deal a very low price on what he calls the Peace of Mind HVAC inspection it's a special so it's a piece of mind inspection $49 Tom will come out to your home and he'll take a look at your entire air conditioning system and he'll also go into the attic and he will look at how that functions is so important because if the attic is hotter than it should be then your air conditioning system is going to work harder than it should your utility bills will be higher than they should your air conditioning system will fail before it should so let them come out and give you the Peace of Mind inspection yeah we'll come out we'll look at all your components so the first thing we'll look at is the outside condensing unit we'll put the gauges on there and see what your freon level is make sure that's where it should be going to look at that coil outside make sure the the coil is actually clean we're we're pulling air in transferring the heat off of those coils look at the fan speed and make sure their fan is actually you know performing like should look at the outdoor all the capacitors out there there's a fan capacitor for the fan motor and then also for the compressor and we look and see if the units getting older might want to put a hard start unit on there what that basically does it's it it just gives a little more energy to the compressor when it kicks on so it's going to start it up so it doesn't so you can get some more life out of your ear compressor so we'll look at all that on the outside make sure the the unit is level just all the different little things we're gonna look at make sure that's that's all performing like it should and then we'll go inside the house and when we do there there's a couple things we're gonna look at we'll look at the inside evaporator unit make sure those coils are clean up there as well and make sure that that's formulate should make sure we're getting enough air flow through there make sure you know sometimes we go to a house and that if their filters are all clogged and it's like well there's aren't any air coming across here or or they didn't change the filters enough and they the evaporator coil itself is just covered in dog hair cat hair and it's like there's no air coming across it's freezing up all kinds of issues so take a look at all of that and then also going to look at the ductwork don't have any leaks so we're not cooling air and it's blowing into the right and then we'll also look at the the temperature in the end make sure we're getting enough air exchanges in the attic through the soffit vents and the the attic temperature so it's it's separate from the air conditioning system so you have two systems you have your your HVAC system but then you actually have the attic system we want to make sure we're keeping those attic temperatures in check and if you do need something there if we need to add some more soft events generally what we see here in Austin is a lot of times we just don't have enough exhaust on the on the top part of the attic we're not pulling enough air through the attic so then the temperatures climb way up you didn't even know the air conditioning system is performing like it should the problem is is the attic was so hot so we're just not getting the results inside of the house so sometimes like you know what air conditioning systems great they're like well that's that's weird because the house isn't keeping up we're putting out 72 and it's 77 degrees in the house in the afternoon so let's because the temperature is too high there's really nothing wrong with the air conditioning system so let's lower the attic temperature and outcomes part of that peachmac inspection we'll look at like I said we'll look at all those different components $49 will come out look at it if you need something we can get that taken care of for you we'll give you a quote on the spot for that and get you taken care of and get you back on the road and make sure we're going to avoid big catastrophes down the road that's kind of the idea to you're saving money because even if you're say a pound low on freon or or your coils are dirty outside and you're just not exchanging that heat off of those coils it could cost you 20 or 30% more in energy costs and you didn't realize it so let's look at it and then this is the perfect time of year to do that and make sure that we're going to have a really nice cool summer inside at least inside the house call now to
