He came to prominence by escaping Dubai after a commercial deal he was involved with turned sour. Unbeknownst to him, Princess Latifa - the state's powerful ruler Sheikh Mohammad's daughter - read his gripping book of the tale and contacted him to plan her own escape.
The mission in 2018 was successful with the Princess onboard Jaubert's boat in international waters, when military commandos intercepted them. Princess Latifa was taken back to Dubai and Jaubert was tortured then released. The incident made global headlines and much speculation followed, but all has gone quiet since.
Jaubert has now released a new book (A Private Family Matter) about Latifa's escape, what really happened and what he has found out since - and he also raises questions about the motivation of certain actors close to the Princess.

He discusses why the general public don't realise that conflict and blood diamonds are two very different things. There is also the issue of why the diamond industry allows blood diamonds to exist.
Sean goes on to discuss how big a role Israel plays in the diamond industry and how that income helps funds its military action in Palestine. The UAE has also become a big player recently and Sean reveals how that regime uses free trade ports to maximise income.
The overall conclusion is; blood diamonds are everywhere and even with The Kimberley Process and certificates, it's hard to know exactly where your stone came from.

She's a global voice on the issue of Predatory Marriage. Sadly, she only discovered the phenomeon after being informed after her beloved mother died, that she had taken a new "husband". The man took all of Daphne's mother's estate and even had full legal control of her funeral. She is buried in an unmarked grave, despite wishing to be cremated.
Daphne used the heartbreak to raise awareness and has campaigned about the issue, which is happening everywhere around the world.
The common targets are vulnerable elderly people, who often get married without their consent or understanding of what is happening. For example, dementia sufferers can't remember what they did an hour ago, but are groomed by the predator and presented as willing participants in the marriage.
It's a shocking practice and proves that it's not only the young who are vulnerable to predators.
