I love the Bible and I love how God talks to us through this amazing collection of writings. I am also on a journey discerning the call to ordained ministry within the Church of England. This podcast is a collection of talks, thoughts and meditations - some in front of others, and some in the privacy of my own space and time as I journey along this path of discernment and discovery and I hope you can join me for some of it. On the 5th Sunday of the month The Trinity Benefice in Folkestone, which comprises of St George's Church, St Paul's Church and Holy Trinity Church meet to worship together. The 30th July 2023 was one of these occasions and I was invited to preach.
The gospel reading was from Matthew 13 where Jesus uses parables about mustard seeds, yeast, treasure, pearls and fish to describe the kingdom of heaven.
I pray this podcast will be encouraging and challenging.

On the second Sunday of each month I have the pleasure of leading Choral Evensong at Holy Trinity, Folkestone.
Thats's where I was on the 11th June and this is my message based on the readings of Isaiah 42.5-12 & Acts 14.8-end.
I had a prop, as I often do which was a large jug of water and a small plastic cup.

Moses and the burning bush is a well known story in the Bible - but it is a story that is worth spending a few minutes considering and meditating on.

It's so easy to be stuck in a spiral or cycle of worry isn't it?
These verses from Pauls letter to the Philippians can really help us in how to deal with worry in a practical way.
This a short meditation on Philippians 4:6-7 and, as with all of my podcasts, I pray you will hear God's voice as you listen.
