IT’S NOT NATURAL, WE KNOW… Speaking life over ourselves doesn’t always come naturally. It’s easier to say great things about others than over ourselves. In this week’s Past to Power episode Amy Elaine and LaTan have a great conversation about how to be kinder to ourselves.
Something powerful happens when we learn to speak kindly to ourselves.
Instead of feeling defeated, we become confident about who we are in Christ. Knowing our identity and agreeing with what God says about us allows us to walk out our best life. If necessary, make yourself a note and stick it on the fridge. No more comparing, complaining, and criticizing, be kind to ourselves.
WORDS LIKE HONEY Try speaking kindly to yourself when you look in the mirror in the morning. Perhaps, you don’t know what to say. God’s Word is a great place to start if you’re at a loss for words. Pick up the Psalms to nourish your soul. Most importantly, find scriptures to refresh and renew your thoughts.

Where is God in our suffering? After the 2009 shootings at the YWAM campus in Denver, this question burned on the hearts of our community. Like all tragedies, those left behind are left to ponder this question. This weekend’s show features Peter Warren of YWAM ! Peter wrote his book, “When the Shooting Stopped: Where is God When We Suffer” in the wake of this tragedy and his own grief. As a leader, he needed these answers as much as those around him. This book is really “a defense of God’s character.”

In this episode of Past to Power, Dog the Bounty Hunter and his fiancée, Francie Frane chat with us about the power of God on the road. Most assuredly, the people we meet aren't there by accident, but by divine design. Dog shares some stories of praying for the people he meets.
”God brings the people we need to accomplish His purposes.” Dog
Whether at the grocery store, the airport, or the gas station. God places people in our paths to minister to them. When we say yes to God we align ourselves with the true Power Source!
Both Francie and Dog said that what they thought would be the end was only just the beginning. When we surrender to God, He shows up and takes our pain and uses it for his purposes. Through our pain, God turns it all around and redeems our pain.

Today's episode of Past to Power with Amy Elaine & LaTan features special guest, Tracie Miles of Proverbs 31 Ministries. We're talking about her new book, “Living Unbroken: Reclaiming Your Heart and Your Life after Divorce.”
In a recent article, Tracie wrote, ”Grief is a painful season to endure, regardless of why you are grieving, but it is necessary for the healing process to play out.” She quoted, William Cowper, an English poet and hymnodist: “Grief is itself a medicine.”
Tracie goes onto say, ”It cleanses our souls from anguish and helps us keep moving through the stages of healing our hearts need. Grief is the process God can use to help us arrive at a place of healing, wholeness and happiness.”

He is the most relational being ever and desires to be in a relationship with us. That's why he sent his son, Jesus. The cross deals with our sin. And, life beyond the cross is where we deal with our soul wounds. Olivia helps to define what soul wounds are and the why behind them. Her journey to freedom includes a BS in Pre-law, a minor in Psychology and certifications a life coach. And now, as we mentioned above, she's on staff at RSM.
As a Residential Coach, she walks alongside women as they seek their own path to freedom. She is passionate about he life she has been given and seeks to see women of various backgrounds, ages, and cultures find true freedom, becoming all they were meant to be. This weekend on RVR, we've got Both Hands Foundation, founder, JT Olson. He's on the show sharing the story behind this faith-based non-profit serving orphans and widows. With over 153 million orphans worldwide and the costs of adoption on the rise, their mission is to fulfill James 1:27 by serving orphans, widows, and Christian adoptive families.
Their purpose is to help Christian adoptive families fund their adoptions by coordinating a service project fixing up a widow’s home. The vision is to see the day when finances are not an obstacle for Christian families who are led to adopt, while simultaneously serving every widow in need of home repairs.

Birthing Courage (*RVR show title this week and chapter 8 -title in LaTan’s amazing book) begins with believing it is possible. We must trust God enough to conceive or imagine He is able to do big things in us and through us. Mary literally gave birth to our Courage-Giver, Jesus Christ. He was born to die and asks us to die to ourselves saying, “No, I can’t, but YES God can in me!”
What is it that needs to denied in your life (negative thoughts, sin, self) in order for you to birth the courage needed to do the next divine assignment God’s trying to accomplish within you? 💭 🤔
Isaiah foretold of His birth and in Luke we find the fulfillment of God’s Word. Therefore, in the same spirit as Mary, you can begin to conceive and believe for your courage to be birthed today. And then, like Mary, respond to God’s calling, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” Luke 1:38 NLT

When we are b r o k e n the Shepherd picks us up and carries us. On this episode of Real Victory Radio, LaTan and Amy Elaine talk about the 23rd Psalm. LaTan shares some beautiful reminders of how the Shepherd takes care of us, especially when we are broken.
In our greatest moments of need, the Shepherd reaches down and picks us up; he carries us. When our hearts are shattered, God shows up to put the pieces back together again. We can find REAL REST in Psalm 23. Listen in and be encouraged.

Moving forward looks different for everyone. Our journey out might be a slow trek or a running-for-life sprint at lightning speed- either way, keeping pace with our Guide gives us the outcome we need! The easiest path, the way out, is however He orchestrates it for us!
The most beautiful thing about the wilderness season can be when it’s over. When God says, “Sweet Girl, I know it’s been hard. I know you’ve been a little (or a lot) lonely. I’m so proud of you; you’ve learned what I wanted to teach you...now let’s go on our next big adventure together!”
Then, it’s time for new beginnings! “Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a NEW THING! Now it will spring forth!” Isaiah 43:18-19

The first thing God said to me when I decided to start this new series was, "Amy Elaine...if you're going to ask people to come on the show to share their stories, you're going to need to share your’s first." Woah!
Going first isn't always easy or fun, but I'm doing just that...I'm going first. I'm telling some of the ugly parts of my story because I want you to be ready when the Enemy comes calling for your marriage, your destiny, your calling, or whatever it is he is after.
What he's after is often WAY BIGGER than we could have imagined. We must always be ready to vie for our victory. Jesus died for it; yet, we have to walk it out to truly experience the victory God intends for us.

This may not be a party you wanted to attend, but when it comes to praying our prodigals back home, no one else is going to pray for them like we do. We have to show up so God can show out. Because He answers prayers. When we can’t see how it’s ever going to turn around for good...God sees.
When we feel like there's nothing left that we can do, we can still pray like never before. And, we can even find joy in the process. We've been given authority to pray over our children and know this: the Devil is a defeated foe.

I have this beautiful quote in my office; my mom gave it to me. She said, "I don't need this as a reminder anymore because now it's true. It's yours now." This was just a few years after my brother died in an accident. He was a prodigal gone Home. My mom's one of the strongest women I know. She didn't know then how much I'd need this today. Why 'prodigals?' Because they have known Him at some point. You can't be a prodigal if you've never known Your Father. This is truth. He is Truth.
And, because I know this to be true, I'm grabbing on with both hands to this Scripture:
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 4 (NIV)
How do I know how to pray? Because, I, too, am a prodigal come home...

Save the Storks is such an important organization; I love what they are doing in our world today. It matters!

Really, there's no "choice" when you're pressured into something. While this isn't part of my story, I can absolutely identify with being pressured into something when I wanted to say, "No!" Can you?
Through their efforts and free ultrasounds revealing the life within a pregnant woman, Save the Storks is "making the option of life impossible to ignore. Once women see their ultrasound and hear the heartbeat they understand the reality of their decision. One picture changes everything." (from their website)
My favorite part of this organization is that EVEN IF a woman chooses to move forward with her decision to abort, Save the Storks is STILL THERE FOR THEM! They don't walk away because they know these women will need possibly even more support afterwards. This is love in action. I love the story of the Woman at the Well- Jesus doesn’t condemn her, He speaks the truth in love and invites her into a relationship with Him without ever asking her to change...why? Because He knows only a heart change will change her behavior. Amber had a RADICAL ENCOUNTER with JESUS and it changed her life! Listen in and hear her story! It's a beautiful one!
