In today's episode of the Jonathan Livingston Seagull journey, we discuss the values and influences of both me and Jonathan. Throughout our lives, we have both had many people impact the way we live and the way we act towards others. These influences of ours also showed us values that Jonathan and I live by in our everyday lives. Jonathan may have had several obstacles to overcome in his lifetime, except his positive influences taught him significant values that helped him continue on his grand journey. My life is similar to the rather odd scenario that Jonathan is in since I also have had major influences on the ways I act and what I value in life. Jonathan Livingston Seagull is the protagonist of a novella, and he faces many struggles in his life. He has a lot of trouble focusing, which can cause some certain problems like malnutrition. I also discuss Jonathan's struggle of pleasing his parents; however, his way of pleasing his parents is far different from people in a typical scenario. The struggles discussed in this first installment of the Jonathan Livingston Seagull Journey form an important bridge between the fictional character and an everyday kid living in the 21st century.
