Join us while we navigate adulthood, experiences as expats in Germany, relationships and our dreams about food sponsorships. Do you even exist if you don't have a podcast anyway?
Food. We all love it. We all need it. Welcome to a new episode in which we will discuss about food, our relationship with it and how it determines our lives and the way we socialize. As it usually happens with us, things will get intense. We will also reflect on how our bodies are always being judged and the pressure which comes from a society that automatically equates being skinny with health. Let us know what your experiences are!
Another year is coming to an end, so what a better way to honor it by chatting about our favorites of 2022 and getting in our feelings (as usual)? Well, there might be better ways but we don’t really care about them. Sorry, we've decided that next year's theme is being more unapologetic so we're just practicing. Anyways, let us know if you're thinking of giving our suggestions a try and what your top picks of the year are. Cheers!
After a long pause, Greta and Marina decided to finally sit down to talk about what concerns us all the most: changes.
We long for them, we're afraid of them, we cannot escape them. Dealing with peer pressure, societal expectations and your own little zoo of struggles can be disheartening and plain exhausting, and no, we don't have any solutions for that. We just wanted to rant a little. Nonetheless, we hope you feel that you're not the only one having a hard time with them.
Hello, hello!
As you have guessed from the title, we’ve decided to start the year (and the new season) strong with an episode about how relationships with parental figures change as expats as well as adults.
It’s not the most talked about topic out there, so we hope you appreciate our insights and we’d love to hear yours too.
It's Benni, biiitch! Welcome to our first interview ever!
Our first guest is Benni aka sound engineer aka Greta's (current) lover. He's German, he's loud and he's full of opinions. That's why we figured he would be perfect for our podcast. Join us while we discuss German directness, their never-ending fear of seeming fake and what it is like to be in a multicultural relationship. Also, does anybody need a vintage pilates training set? Hello everyone! In this episode we talk about how we feel about approaching our 30s and how that affects the way we party and what we enjoy doing. We discuss what we used to do in Italy and Spain vs how it is in Germany. We also open about about the value that going out has for us nowadays compared to when we were younger. We would love to hear your own experiences! Find us on Instagram @buongiornobtch or write us an email at buongiornob@outlook.com
Hello, hello! Guess what: this is our very first remotely recorded episode E-VER! And it only stressed Marina out 5779 times. This time we talk about working in Germany: types of job contracts, the application process, practical tips and things that might ultimately help you to get the moneyss in this wonderful and paper-work fan of a country. What about you? What's the strangest thing you've ever experienced during a job interview and how did you deal with it? Let us know, we're looking forward to hearing for you!
Hint: It's not just the blonde wig. In this episode we talk about medicine practices across different cultures and what we, as expats ourselves, have experienced while being hospitalized abroad. What should we, as foreign patients, take into account? What about the healthcare workers that deal with international people? If you want to avoid a Mal de Ojo, keep your ears wide open and don't forget to follow us on instagram @buongiornobtch!
Hey everyone! Today we talk about a great book from Erin Meyer called "The Culture Map. Decoding how people think, lead, and get things done across cultures". We explore the different communications styles (low-context vs. hight-context) and discuss strategies to overcome difficulties in intercultural communication, especially in the workplace. Have your have had misunderstandings with your international colleagues? How did you overcome them?
Welcome back everybody! Is it just us or is everybody else also feeling consumed by this app?
Today we discuss our opinions about Instagram: the pros and cons of using it and how we could improve our relationship with it.
As expats (and human beings, duh) we crave connection with our loved ones but this usually comes with unexpected consequences.
Listen to the episode and join our debate! We promise it's gonna be a heated one.
Hello everyone! Welcome to the second part of our Q&A. Today we discuss some of our relationship deal-breakers, the importance of keeping your friends close (and their external perspectives) after a break-up and we also opened up about our work life and shared some very personal memories with you. We hope you like this episode and, as always, we can't wait to hear your feedback!
Welcome back to our podcast! We get personal in this episode with you guys and ask each other questions to get to know each other a bit better (hopefully, you will too!). We talk about adulthood, our relationship as friends, our personalities and things we wished we had known earlier. Is there any question that stuck with you? Let us know if you liked the format and if you would have liked us to discuss other topics as well. Second part coming soon!
Hello everyone! Have you ever thought about when it’s time to go home after having lived abroad? In this episode, we interview some of our friends who have gone through that exact same experience and discuss what signs to look out for while deciding to move back to your home country or not.
Welcome back to our podcast! In this episode we ask our friends to help us answer some big questions about why people leave their home countries and (maybe) not come back. We touch on topics like bringing up children in a multicultural environment, the importance of creating a social group and how German toilets can be extremely luxurious. Marina also admits to her OCD while Greta reveals how she gets her groceries.
Dear friends, thanks for tuning in with us one more week. In this episode, we’ll talk about the different variables which might affect reverse culture shock and share our friends' personal experiences when going back home after having spent time abroad.
You guys, welcome back to our podcast! Today we will introduce some of the different nuances of the term expat and discuss about how you can make new friends abroad, even if you’re not a student anymore . We will be touching on topics like Facebook groups (gen z, please keep listening!), the extrovert vs introvert debate and putting yourself out there.
Buongiorno, b*tches! Welcome to our pilot episode, where we will be discussing everything from bubble group cheating during a global pandemic, setting boundaries to feeling guilty as an expat during these crazy times.
