We often believe the lie that if I just try harder, it will be different next time. We end up thinking that trying harder, achieving more will move our lives along into places of fulfilment and significance! This is unfortunately not true. We often spend our time trying to achieve something, when really we should be spending our time receiving and rejoicing.

When we allow 'blame' to govern our thinking and our references, we will easily smuggle in our habits and thoughts patterns that have brought disappointment and damage. When we let go of 'blame', we allow ourselves to receive freedom and forgiveness so we can start over.

It's our natural tendency to 'blame' those around us, or our circumstances when things go wrong. In the process of Starting Over, it's neccesary for us to own our piece of the past. Without doing that we can never effectively start over, and find ourselves moving forward.

Recognising the 'able-ness', the ability of God is really the first step to overcoming our own sense of lack. God did not give us a spirit of lack! He displayed Himself as a glorious Father, an enabler of all inheritance and blessing. There is no lack IN HIM.

We have been raised with Christ, seated at the right hand of the Father. How we are known in heaven will expedite our deliverance from negativity, bondage from the enemy and a poverty mindset. Lack is not about economic vulnerability, but is more concerned about living with meagre possibilities. Our identity in Christ is our permission to step outside the confines of our personality into the fullness of God.

God does not allocate resources to our problems. He attaches them to our identity in Jesus. His primary purpose is in the revelation of our exact likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are 'Beholding so we can become what we already are'. In every situation we are learning how to grow up in all things in Christ, to walk worthy of the divine calling He has placed on our lives. This is a compelling episode!

This week we look at how God has not given us a spirit of lack! InChrist He introduced us to the display of His generosity. What a marvellous understanding this is. Like the woman at the well, regardless of what your life looks like today - whether you feel you’re on top of the mountain, or whether you’ve hit rock bottom! God wants to display His generosity towards you!
1 CORINTHIANS 2: 12
And the marvellous thing is this, that we now receive not the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God himself, so that we can actually understand something of God’s generosity towards us.

When John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus goes through a time of deep doubt, Jesus encourages him to go back and recognise the Word of God over His life. When we learn to take Him at His word, we move our lives and our expectations from a place of doubt, into a place of faith.

ROMANS 8: 15 - For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Why does the Apostle Paul caution us against not receiving doubt and fear that comes from a mindset of slavery, and not freedom? Because it's possible for us to fall back into a life that does not reflect the freedom that we have received.

The Word of God is custom fitted for your lips. The Word of God was made to be spoken. Confession is fundamental to faith. E.W. Kenyon said, “Confession builds the road over which faith carries its mighty cargo.” There is no other to run at a giant - discovering what God says about you is fundamental to our living in victory.

By speaking the word of God over your life you are simply reinforcing the victory and authority that Christ. So instead of allowing the symptoms of a broken life in Adam to control the outcome, and begging God to do something about it, take charge and start enforcing that which Christ has already accomplished on your behalf.

In Matthew 17 Jesus addresses our capacity to speak to mountains. He introduces the idea of 'unbelief' or 'small faith.' 'Small faith' is likened to someone who does not listen to hear what God is saying, and then to put that on their lips. Small faith begins with small listening.

In the Old Testament, God’s people lived with a 'visitation' culture. God would 'visit' His people. Unfortunately our thinking about the presence of God in our lives persists along the same line - God visits us, and then He’s off somewhere else doing all the God-things He does.
This type of thinking has blinded us to the incredible reality of the presence of God in our lives. You can hear it in people’s prayers, you hear it in some of the worship songs we sing, and we live as if God is here in one moment, and in the next He’s gone - as if we have to do something to magically conjure up the presence of the Holy Spirit with a few songs and the right musical atmosphere. Today's Episode challenges that type of thinking in our lives.

All the sermons I’ve ever heard about what happened at the cross always prompt me to identify with the crowd – the Roman soldiers, Mary, the mother of Jesus, the disciples, or someone in the crowd hollering ‘Crucify Him’. No one ever told me that the one we were supposed to identify is Jesus, because in that moment he deeply identified Himself with me. This is a game-changer.

Faith does not start in our lives! We have faith, because we caught it from someone else who is so contagious in their faith about you, that one moment in that environment changes and transforms your life forever! This slightly longer-than-normal episode is well worth a listen if you want to know what ignites faith in your life.
Our minds and lives were dominated by a lie. Now that the light of the gospel has come we now exhibit the glory of the Lord. The fruit of our life is now the display of truth. The truth of my true identity in Christ.
If you do not understand that Jesus’s resurrection was the clearest declaration of your righteousness, you will always continue as one who is created be free, but still living as a slave. Christ is the revelation of the truth. It is in the discovery of Christ, that truth and understanding is revealed - where life is ignited! Ignorance brings damage! But understanding brings life!
The only thing that could continue to exclude us from what the Gospel reveals is stubborn unbelief and ignorance. Ignorance refers to ignoring what is apparent. When we don't see or recognise how included we are in Christ, damage becomes almost inevitable.
Consider this: our hearts can soar with joyful gratitude when we think of how God made us worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light. Thanksgiving brings to fruition the works of God in our lives.
We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We are blessed with the same blessings Jesus has right now in the presence of God. How does your thinking limit you in this regard?
Righteousness is the ability to stand in the presence of the Father God without the sense of guilt or inferiority. This is not something that we acquire by our righteous deeds. Righteousness is something you receive. This is not a reality to access someday in the future. He has given His righteousness to us now.
He revealed the truth about you so that you may know the truth about yourself and be free indeed. This is true fulfilment! God did not fix the old, broken Adam in you. You are a new creation!
How radical must this message have been in the time of Paul! How radical does this message still ring today - can we truly allow our lives to be found in Christ? How would that change and impact our thinking and our daily living?
That which should’ve brought damage to your life has now divinely been exchanged for that which brings life, honour, meaning, fulfilment, victory, joy, wholeness, peace, abundance, prosperity, fullness of life, increase, healing!
Jesus' very life was intended to bring a conversation to the table! A moment where God could reveal His heart, reveal His thoughts and intentions concerning you, and break the works of the enemy over your life!
There are a number of times in the life of Jesus where He publicly 'recognises Himself' in the Scriptures. When we find ourselves in the Word, we discover our so much of who we truly are.
Your identification with Christ or who you are in Christ begins with the grace of God. God puts you in a place where you can see His glory, get in His presence, know Him, experience Him, and enjoy Him.
Through revelation knowledge, I know when Jesus died, I died. When He was buried, I was buried. When He was made alive, I was made alive. When He was raised, I was raised with Him. When He sat down, I sat down with Him. God saw me there. Everything Jesus did, He did it for me.
Christ is the blueprint! God made you identical to Him. He put the same righteousness, life, victory, blessing, and other qualities that are in Christ in your spirit. How can we now go and continue to identify with defeat?
Jesus Christ was presented the blueprint of all of creation and all of mankind. If the blueprint is a success, then the product must also be a success. That is why when the fall of man came, no one else could proof the design, or proof the success of the design but the master copy.
The story of your identification with Christ does not start now. This was something God already worked by identifying you in His Son before the creation of the world! When you discover the place that Christ occupies in the mind of God, you discover the exact same place that He has created for you to live from!
You can identify your life with the broken, inferior reference of a fallen Adam, or you can look at yourself in the mirror from the vantage point of a resurrected, victorious Christ. Whichever one you choose has definitive impact on your life.
When we recognise the power of identifying with Christ, and we allow ourselves to be submersed in His opinion of us, it removes the broken and inferior things that we have defined our lives by. This episode looks at drilling deep into the Word of God and His opinion.
