The Landlady Club podcast is an ongoing in-depth conversation and information exchange between co-hosts Eskedar and Jakina. The pair are south side of Chicago based landladies who met at different stages in the process of becoming landlords and who have supported each other and now want to build community by sharing their first hand experiences with other ladies who are or considering becoming landladies. Neither are real estate professionals and implore you to seek professional advice related to your specific needs.

"Respond to every call that excites your spirit." Rumi
While we were called to become Landladies and heard that call as a stepping stone to achieving our dreams, something else may be exciting your spirit, your duty to yourself is to move toward that.
We have made it to the end of the first season and we thank you for joining us, wherever you are, in the process or in the world we're grateful to have had you along on this leg of the journey. Thank you. We look forward to meeting again in late April 2021.

Your real estate agent is just about the most important step in the entire process of purchasing your property, especially if like us, you're getting a mortgage through a traditional bank lender. On this episode we share how we met the real estate agents we worked with and where to find yours.

This Weeks To Do List:
One: Google SOME mortgage lenders like NACA and Guaranteed Rate these are not banks but banks and credit unions aren’t the only mortgage lenders so I named them as examples though they do not sponsor us and we do not sponsor them.
Two: After you’ve Googled and compared what different lenders have to offer - Make the CALL! For me that was the scariest part. Online you will mostly only see what they consider to be the perks of getting a mortgage loan through them are and not the full scope. When you call You’ll say something like I’m in the market for a mortgage loan, I see that you require XYZ and also offer for example $500 toward closing costs. Is that offer still going, what is the lowest interest rate you offer and can you explain your guidelines. If you are getting down payment assistance ask if they accept it, some lenders do not give loans with assistance program stipulations attached. Read the fine print!
Three: Compare and contrast if you’re trying to decide between which to go with set a timeline for no more than a week when you want to apply/ get your pre approval.
