Ben has a background in theatrical film and TV marketing and publicity. He has worked on several film projects that have garnered multiple awards and premiered on premium streamers such as Netflix, Amazon and more, as well as leading festivals such as Sundance and Cannes.
Max comes from the world of broadcast journalism having worked with YES Network, NESN, NBC Boston, ESPN, Channel 5 Boston, and NH1 News.
Together they founded Not A Billionaire (NAB), a global creative communications and marketing firm specializing in social-first content and strategic storytelling for major corporations, non-profits, and influencers.
The Berkowitz Brothers, along with Josh Gad (Frozen, Jobs) and artist Ariel Olivetti, they have co-created the new Dark Horse comic book series The Writer. The first two issues available now with the third issue coming September 11.

This week on the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomes comic creators Joey Esposito and Sean Von Gorman to the program to discuss their latest comic The Pedestrian and more!
Joey Esposito grew up in New England reading comic books, playing video games, renting movies, and writing stories. After high school, Joey attended film school in New York. In college, Joey honed his writing skills, which he soon applied to his love of prose and comics. He released his first creator-owned comic Footprints (with Jonathan Moore), which was featured in USA Today’s Best of 2011 roundup and inspired a sequel, Footprints: Bad Luck Charm, in 2014. More recently Esposito has written comics such as DC's Batman: Urban Legends and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Sean Von Gorman is an NYC based Comics Illustrator & Writer. He is known for co-creating Toe Tag Riot (Black Mask Studios) and Secret Adventures of Houdini (Alterna). He has also contributed art for projects published by Image Comics, Dark Horse and Dynamite Entertainment as well as anthologies such as Occupy Comics (Black Mask) and the Eisner Award Winning Love Is Love (DC/IDW). He has also contributed covers for IDW Publishing’s Star Trek line of books.
Together the duo have created Pawn Shop for Z2 Comics as well as The Pedestrian for Magma Comix which hit local comic shops on August 7, 2024.

Jordan Morris has written for shows on HBO Max, Disney Plus, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network and YouTube Originals. In the world of comics, Morris created and co-wrote the two-time Eisner nominated graphic novel Bubble, based on the hit Maximum Fun podcast of the same name. He is currently developing a feature film based on Bubble for Sony Animation and Point Grey Productions.
Morris is the co-host of Jordan, Jesse, Go!, a totally nonsensical chat podcast with Jesse Thorn (NPR) and Free With Ads, a movie recap show with comedian Emily Fleming.
More recently, Jordan is set to release the graphic novel Youth Group along with artist Bowen McCurdy at First Second Books.

The Red Skull defeats Captain America in 1941, but the super hero is thrown into suspended animation. Steve Rogers is revived 50 years later to face the Red Skull one more time.
The film was directed by Albert Pyun and written by Stephen Tolkin and Lawrence J. Block while starring Matt Salinger, Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty, Darren McGavin, Michael Nouri, Melinda Dillon, Kim Gillingham, and Scott Paulin.
The 1990 movie was loosely based on the Marvel Comics character by the same name co-created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

Kyle Starks is a two-time Eisner nominated comic creator from Southern Indiana. He is best known as the longest tenured writer and occasional artist for Oni Press Rick and Morty comic. He was nominated for Eisners for Sexcastle and Rock Candy Mountain for best humor publication.
More recently Kyle has written comics like I Hate This Place (also known as Fuck This Place) and Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton at Image Comics, and Where Monsters Lie at Dark Horse Comics. He also has an original graphic novel entitled Old Head which released in August 2021 at Image Comics. He has also worked on Skybound’s Assassin Nationwith Erica Henderson, Dynamite Comics Mars Attacks with Chris Schweizer and Oni Press Dead of Winter.
Ryan Browne is a Harvey Award winning comic book writer and artist from Chicago, Illinois. Browne is the creator of God Hates Astronauts as well as the co-creator and artist of Curse Words and Eight Billion Genies.
Together Starks and Browne are working together on a book from the world of Minor Threats, Barfly where the former is writing and the ladder is taking on the art duties at Dark Horse.

Over the past decade-plus, Joshua Millican has proven himself to be a horror expert of the highest caliber. After establishing a personal blog in 2011, Millican quickly became one of the genre’s premiere journalists, contributing to many websites before ultimately landing at Dread Central in 2016. One of the top horror outlets on the planet, Millican served as Editor-in-Chief from 2019 through 2021. His talk show Chronic Horror (sidelined by the Pandemic) explored the intersection of horror movie fandom and cannabis culture.
Teleportasm released in bookstores on June 25, 2024 from Shortwave Publishing. The novella is the third standalone book in the Killer VHS series at Shortwave which also includes Brian McAuley's Candy Cain Kills.

This week on the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomes comic book retailer Paul Eaton to the show to discuss the 2011 Green Lantern movie.
Sworn to preserve intergalactic order, the Green Lantern Corps has existed for centuries. Its newest recruit, Hal Jordan, is the first human to join the ranks. The Green Lanterns have little regard for humans, who have thus far been unable to harness the powers of the ring each member wears. But Jordan, a gifted and cocky test pilot, may be the corps' only hope when a new enemy called Parallax threatens the universal balance of power.
The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, and Tim Robbins, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheimthat was subsequently rewritten by Michael Goldenberg.
The film is based on the DC Comics character originally co-created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger. Later, Hal Jordan was introduced by John Broome and Gil Kane.
Green Lantern was released on June 17, 2011 and promptly failed at the box office.

Zack Kaplan is a break out science fiction comic writer and creator of such comics and graphic novels as Eclipse, Port of Earth, The Lost City Explorers, Join the Future, and more recently, Break Out, Metal Society, Mindset, Forever Forward, and Beyond Real. He has worked with publishers such as Image Comics/Top Cow, Dark Horse, Aftershock Comics, Vault Comics, Humanoids, Scout Comics and DC Comics.
His first three series were all optioned for TV adaptation, with Port of Earth being developed by Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment and Amazon TV Studios. Zack has taught screenwriting and storytelling at the International Academy of Film and TV, located in the Philippines.
Kill All Immortals is set to premiere on July 10, 2024 with The Midnight: Shadows coming October 2 both from Dark Horse. The collected edition of Beyond Real hits shelves on August 21 from Vault Comics.

His biggest scoop was Marvel’s decision to kill off Captain America, an exclusive picked up by 4,000 outlets around the world.
Sacks released A Haunted Girl from the Image Comics’ imprint, Syzygy Publishing, this past fall along with his daughter Naomi Sacks and artist Marco Lorenzana. The paranormal thriller channels terrors both otherworldly as well as the real-life terror that comes with struggles of anxiety and depression.

Waubgeshig Rice is an author and journalist from Wasauksing First Nation. He’s written four books, most notably the bestselling novel Moon of the Crusted Snow, published in 2018. He graduated from the journalism program at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2002, and spent most of his journalism career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a video journalist and radio host.
He left CBC in 2020 to focus on his literary career. His forthcoming novel, Moon of the Turning Leaves, will be published in the US this February 2024.
In addition to his writing endeavours, Waubgeshig is an eclectic public speaker, delivering keynote addresses and workshops, engaging in interviews, and contributing to various panels at literary festivals and conferences. He speaks on creative writing and oral storytelling, contemporary Anishinaabe culture and matters, Indigenous representation in arts and media, and more.

Comics Are Dying: The Comic exists to create a fun, educational, tongue-in-cheek, parodic, and optimistic book to help attract new readers, give artists jobs, and help comic book stores. Hart is the creator of the Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated comic series Ripple Effects. Centered on an invulnerable superhero with type 1 diabetes, the story was placed on the American Library Association’s Best Graphic Novels for Adults reading list and was a finalist for the Excellence in Graphic Literature Awards. More recently he has worked on the supernatural adventure series The Cabinet with co-creator David Ebeltoft and artist Chiara Raimondi.

However, she seems more set on stealing Dick away from his girlfriend, Tess, than helping him solve the case of his career.
Warren Beatty produced, directed and starred in the film alongside Al Pacino, Madonna, Glenne Headly and Charlie Korsmo. Dustin Hoffman, James Keane, Charles Durning, William Forsythe, Seymour Cassel, Mandy Patinkin, Catherine O’Hara, Ed O'Ross, James Caan, James Tolkan and Dick Van Dyke also appeared.
The film hit theaters on June 15, 1990.

The comic book psychiatrist joins a sorcerer and his assistant against the ageless Morgan le Fay in the made-for-tv movie from 1978.
Dr. Strange was written and directed by Philip DeGuere based on the Marvel Comics character created by Steve Ditkoand Stan Lee. The film was made for television as a pilot for a possible television show spearheaded by Lee. Dr. Strange stars Peter Hooten in the title role, along with Jessica Walter as Morgan Le Fay, Eddie Benton as Clea Lake, Clyde Kusatsu as Wong, Philip Sterling as Dr. Frank Taylor, and John Mills as Thomas Lindmer.
The film debut on September 6, 1978 on CBS. It was released twice on VHS in the United States, in 1987 and 1995, and also had multiple foreign releases. Dr. Strange was later released on DVD in the United States and Canada on November 1, 2016, and on Blu-ray for a limited time on April 26, 2022, by Shout! Factory.

Based on the Marvel comic book, Punisher begins with Frank Castle as a respected police officer dedicated to eradicating the Mafia's influence -- that is, until the mob responds with a lethal car bomb that decimates Castle's family. Now, filled with rage and presumed dead from the horrific explosion, Castle takes to the city's underground sewer tunnels to bring his own brutal brand of vigilante justice to the streets and wreak vengeance on those who killed his family.
Punisher was directed by Mark Goldblatt, written by Boaz Yakin, and stars Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle / The Punisher and Louis Gossett Jr. as Detective Jake Berkowitz.
The film was given a worldwide theatrical release, except in the United States, Sweden, and South Africa on October 5, 1989. It was originally given an August 1989 release in the US, with trailers even created, but was due to New World's financial difficulties the film was pulled from that date. Eventually the film was sold to Lionsgate (then Live Entertainment) for a direct-to-video release in April 1991. Overall, the film earned $30 million, on a budget of $9 million.

It is based on the Marvel comic book series of the same name, a spin-off of the X-Menfranchise. It was produced by New World Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment Group.

As a WGA screenwriter, Brian has written five films for the Lifetime Network in addition to writing and producing the award-winning thriller Dismissed for BoulderLight Pictures. He sold his TV series pitch Affliction to Syfy Network in a pilot development deal and penned an episode of Fuller House for Netflix.
Brian’s debut novel Curse of the Reaper was published through Simon & Schuster and named one of the Best Horror Books of 2022 by Esquire. His Christmas horror novella Candy Cain Kills released on November 14, 2023 through Shortwave Publishing. His short fiction and non-fiction have appeared in Dark Matter Magazine, Nightmare Magazine, and Shortwave Magazine.
Brian McAuley is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Screenwriting at the Sidney Poitier New American Film School of Arizona State University.

Christopher Golden is the New York Times bestselling, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of such novels as Road of Bones, Ararat, Snowblind, and Red Hands. With Mike Mignola, he is the co-creator of the Outerverse comic book universe, including such series as Baltimore, Joe Golem: Occult Detective, and Lady Baltimore. As an editor, he has worked on the short story anthologies Seize the Night, Dark Cities, and The New Dead, among others, and he has also written and co-written comic books, video games, screenplays, and a network television pilot.
In 2015 he founded the popular Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival. He was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he still lives with his family. His work has been nominated for the British Fantasy Award, the Eisner Award, and multiple Shirley Jackson Awards. For the Bram Stoker Awards, Golden has been nominated ten times in eight different categories, and won twice. His original novels have been published in more than fifteen languages in countries around the world.
Recently, Golden released the first two issues of Mortal Terror at Dark Horse and is gearing up for the release of his latest novel The House of Last Resort at St. Martin's Press due out January 30, 2024.

More recently Cady has released comics such as Haunt You To The End and Destiny Gate.
Andrea Mutti is an Italian comic book artist. After obtaining his degree in geometry, Mutti attended the Comics School in Brescia, led by Ruben Sosa. He began his career illustrating the superheroes comic DNAction for Xenia Edizioni. He then illustrated horror comics for Fenix. Andrea moved over to Star Comics, where he drew stories for Lazarus Ledd and some episodes of Hammer. Since then he's worked with DC, Vertigo, Marvel, Mad Cave Studios, Dark Horse and IDW Publishing.
More recently Mutti released A Legacy of Violence, Charred Remains and Haunt You To The End (along with Cady). He has a new Star Wars graphic novel coming out in Summer 2024.
The collected edition of Haunt You To The End hits bookstores everywhere on January 9, 2024 (Ryan's Birthday) and local comic shops on January 10.

Over his career, Lyndon has successfully worked as part of over 40 Kickstarter campaigns, been supported by Arts Council England and worked with clients such as Twitch and the Historic Royal Palaces.

When teenagers Mike and Debbie see a comet crash outside their sleepy small town, they investigate and discover a pack of murderous aliens who look very much like circus clowns. They try to warn the local authorities, but everyone assumes their story is a prank. Meanwhile, the clowns set about harvesting and eating as many people as they can. It's not until they kidnap Debbie that Mike decides it's up to him to stop the clowns' bloody rampage.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a science fiction horror comedy film written, directed and produced by the Chiodo Brothers (Charles Chiodo and Stephen Chiodo). It stars Grant Cramer as Mike Tobacco, Suzanne Snyder as Debbie Stone, John Allen Nelson as Dave Hansen and John Vernon as Curtis Mooney.
The film was made for $1.8 million and brought in $43 million at the box office when it was released on May 27, 1988. The film has been considered a cult classic.

Joseph Schmalke is a comic book artist and writer residing in Maine. Schmalke is the creator of such titles as Murder Hobo, We Don't Kill Spiders, Electric Black, Seven Years In Darkness and many more.
The first volume of Seven Years In Darkness recently wrapped up with the one-shot Seven Years In Darkness: The Shamir Worm coming in January 2024 from CEX Publishing. The first volume will be collected together in a "progress report" in early 2024 and in a trade paperback coming later in 2024.
Seven Years In Darkness continues next year with the second year in the school coming in April 2024..
Schmalke recently had successful kickstarter campaigns for his Murder Hobo and We Don't Kill Spiders.

Kicking off Horror Week on the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomes Jeremy Dauber to the program to discuss his all things horror!
Jeremy Dauber is a professor of Jewish literature and American Studies at Columbia University, where he has also served as director of its Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies. He has penned books such as In the Demon's Bedroom: Yiddish Literature and the Early Modern, also Antonio's Devils: Writers of the Jewish Enlightenment and the Birth of Modern Hebrew and Yiddish Literature, The Worlds of Sholem Aleichem, and Jewish Comedy: A Serious History; the last two were finalists for the National Jewish Book Award.
As J.A. Dauber, he is also the author of the YA novel Mayhem and Madness: Chronicles of a Teenaged Supervillain, which was a Young Adults’ Choice of the Children’s Book Council. He frequently lectures on topics related to American popular culture, Jewish literature, history, and humor at venues throughout the United States and internationally.
More recently Dauber has written books including American Comics: A History and Mel Brooks: Disobedient Jew. He is currently researching and writing a book on what scares us by watching horror movies, reading horror books and so much more.

In this film based on the comic book character by the same name, Howard the Duck is suddenly beamed from Duckworld, a planet of intelligent ducks with arms and legs, to Earth, where he lands in Cleveland. There he saves rocker Beverly from thugs and forms a friendship with her. She introduces him to Phil, who works at a lab with scientist Dr. Jenning. When the doctor attempts to return Howard to his world, Jenning instead transfers an evil spirit into his own body.
Originally released on August 1, 1986, Paul joined us to discuss the film, it's impact on the comic book movie world and so much more!

Dastmalchian is a film and television actor and comic book writer. He has appeared in films such as The Dark Knight(2008), the Ant-Man franchise, CW's The Flash, and The Suicide Squad (2021). He has also appeared in Prisoners (2013), Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Dune (2021), Oppenheimer (2023), The Boogeyman (2023), The Last Voyage of the Demeter(2023) and many more.
As a comic book writer, David has written the Count Crowley series at Dark Horse Comics which is publishing it's third volume on November 8, 2023. The first two volumes are available now in trade paperback.
Kilpatrick's co-created series Lovers Divided was nominated for a Streamy Award in the Best Indie category. Leah can also be seen hosting the Netflix series Super-Fan Bulds and performing improv on her team Mission IMPROVable. Kilpatrick has also worked on Sunny Family Cult, Babysplitters, Free The Nipple, Gateway and more.
Kilpatrick and Dastmalchian co-wrote the Horror House story in Dark Horse's Headless Horseman Annual releasing on October 18, 2023 at local comic shops.

Coming this fall from Image Comics’ imprint, Syzygy Publishing, is a gripping new four-issue horror series, A Haunted Girl. Co-written by the father-daughter team of Ethan Sacks and Naomi Sacks, with art by Marco Lorenzana, this paranormal thriller channels terrors both otherworldly as well as the real-life terror that comes with struggles of anxiety and depression.

Jay Martin started his career as a cartoonist, creating the nationally syndicated strip Tommy before segueing into film and working as storyboard artist on such films as The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Constantine, I Am Legend, Ad Astra, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He directed his first music video for Death Cab for Cutie’s The New Year and has continued on, directing clips for a wide variety of artists – Kelly Clarkson, Shawn Mendes (Stitches, Mercy, Never Holding Me Back, In My Blood, Lost in Japan), Tiesto & Post Malone (Jackie Chan), Cold War Kids, Nas, Melissa Etheridge, Christina Perri and many, many more.
In 2015, he wrote and directed his first feature film, 7 Minutes starring Jason Ritter, Luke Mitchell and Kris Kristofferson. In 2018 his video for Shawn Mendes In My Blood was nominated for three MTV VMAs including Best Direction. In 2019, he executive produced the Blumhouse feature Don’t Let Go starring David Oyelowo and Storm Reid.
Jay Martin released his original graphic novel, Lost Boy, in August 2023 from Dark Horse with letters by Frank Cvetkovic. Dark Horse also recently announced he will release another original graphic novel, Yellow, in May 2024.

When a greedy oil baron sets his sights on drilling in a Louisiana swamp, a monstrous creature is awakened. The baron and his associates are killed in the swamp thicket, spurring an investigation led by Sheriff Kyle Williams. Although the Seminoles are initially suspected of the murders, the swamp creature, known as Man-Thing, is the killer. A gruesome creature made of plants and vines, Man-Thing possesses strange and dangerous powers.
Originally intended for a theatrical release in the United States, the film debuted on the Sci Fi Channel under the Sci Fi Pictures label on April 30, 2005. The film was directed by Brett Leonard (Virtuosity, Hideaway), written by Hans Rodionoff, and produced by Avi Arad, Scott Karol, Gimel Everett, and Christopher Petzel.
Man-Thing stars Matthew Le Nevez as Sheriff Kyle Williams, Rachael Taylor as Teri Elizabeth Richards, Jack Thompson as Frederick Schist, Alex O'Loughlin as Deputy Eric Fraser, Steve Bastoni as Rene LaRoque, and John Batchelor as Wayne Thibadeaux. Conan Stevens of Game of Thrones fame portrayed the title character in his first film role.
While IMDb and review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes has the film at 4/10 and 14% respectively, reviewers on streamers such as Amazon are more forgiving with a 3.8/5 rating. The 97-minute film's budget was between $5-7.5 million and was a loss for Marvel even if it did gross around $1 million in a limited release in international theaters.
The movie was based on the Marvel Comics character by the same name who was created by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, and Gray Morrow. He first appeared in comics in Savage Tales #1 (May 1971). Since the 2005 movie, Man-Thing has made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the Werewolf by Night TV special in 2022.

Jennie Wood is a non-binary author and musician currently living in Boston. They created the critically acclaimed, award-winning Flutter graphic novel series. Featured in The New York Times, Boston Globe, and on Law & Order: SVU, Flutter was named one of the best LGBTQ graphic novels of 2013 and 2015 by The Advocate. In November 2018, Dark Horse published The Flutter Collection, all three volumes combined into one book. That collection won the Next Generation Indie Book award for best graphic novel.
Jennie is also the author of the YA novel, A Boy Like Me, which was a Next Generation Indie Book awards finalist, an INDIEFAB Book of the Year finalist, and one of Foreword Reviews’ 10 Best Indie YA novels for 2014. Their work can be seen in several anthologies, including The New York Times best-selling, award-winning FUBAR anthologies, The New York Times best-selling and Eisner award-winning anthology Love is Love, the Harvey-nominated 27, A Comic Anthology, and John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight.
Wood is set to release their newest original graphic novel, Paper Planes, at Mad Cave Studios's young adult imprint Maverick. The book hits bookstores everywhere on July 18, 2023 and at local comic shops on July 19.

Brombal is a comic book writer based in Toronto, Canada. His comic series House of Slaughter at BOOM! His Eisner-nominated mini-series Barbalien: Red Planet (Dark Horse) alongside Eisner-winning artist Gabriel Hernández Walta also released in 2021 as a part of Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Black Hammer universe. Tate's latest comic series Behold, Behemoth dropped from BOOM! Studios in November 2022.
Goodhart got his start in comics in 2014 as one of the winners of the Top Cow Talent Hunt. After drawing Artifacts #38, he moved on to illustrating Matt Hawkins’s Postal for 26 consecutive issues. He recently illustrated Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale and Victor and Nora: A Gotham Love Story, written by Lauren Myracle and published by DC Comics.
Together Brombal and Goodhart have teamed up as writer and artist of James Tynion IV's The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos. The first few issues of the series were originally released via The Empire of the Tiny Onion Substack, but has since been promoted to an on-going series at Dark Horse.

Omnibus is a digital comic book store and reader created by Kenny and Travis. They both have extensive experience in web companies and UX, such as Reddit and Square, and both are, first and foremost dedicated digital comics readers.
With the downslide of ComiXology over the years, Kenny and Travis opted to create their own thing and contend for a share of the digital comics market. The app rolled out in May to iPad users, still the best device on the market for reading digital comics, and the team is working daily to grow the platform.
You would think the digital reading apps have improved over time with technology, but something has still been off on most of them. The creative team behind this new app is working towards making it easy, fun, and worthwhile reading digitally once again! This app was created for comic book fans by comic book fans.

Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury in the upcoming Marvel Studios streaming series Secret Invasion, so we saw it fitting to discuss the original on-screen Nick Fury portrayal to get us in the mood and remind everyone on how amazing Jackson is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe role.
Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD debuted on Fox on May 26, 1998 starring David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury, Lisa Rinna as Contessa Valentina 'Val' Allegra De Fontaine, Sandra Hess as Andrea Von Strucker / Viper, Neil Roberts as Alexander Goodwin, and Pierce Garry Chalk as Timothy Aloysius 'Dum-Dum' Dugan.
Additionally, Tom McBeath appeared as SHIELD Director General Jack Pincer, Ron Canada as Gabriel Jones, Adrian G. Griffiths as Clay Quartermain, Peter Haworth as Dr. Arnim Zola and Campbell Lane as Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker.
Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD was written by David S. Goyer and directed by Rod Hardy on a $6 million production budget. It was first intended to be a backdoor pilot for a possible TV series. Goyer went on to write the Blade trilogy, The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Hardy went on to direct many other projects including Powers based on the comics by Brian Michael Bendis.
Reception to the film was largely negative, with praises for its performances such as that of David Hasselhoff, but criticism for lack of execution and dialogue.
In the film Agent Nick Fury is asked to fight the menace of Hydra after exiling himself in the Yukon since the end of the Cold War.
The long forgotten film celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 26 with very little fanfare. Thank you Samuel L. Jackson for becoming the Agent of SHIELD we all needed.

In addition to writing credit on Y: The Last Man, Clark served as show-runner and executive producer. The series aired 10 episodes on FX on HULU. The show received the sad news of a non-renewal prior to the series ending its first season.
Clark joins Soderberg to discuss the recent strike by the Writers Guild of America East and West. The union - representing 11,500 writers of film, television and other entertainment forms - has been on strike since May 2, primarily over royalties from streaming media among other things.
It can be a confusing time for those casual tv and film fans during these strikes and we hope Eliza's discussion can shed some light on the situation and educate us all, Capes and Tights included.

Paul Eaton of Galactic Comics and Collectibles returns to Capes and Tights to discuss the topic of graded comics with host Justin Soderberg.
Grading comics, also nicknamed slabbing comics, is when an impartial third-party examines comic books, assigns them a numeric grade and then seals them in a hard plastic case. The two most popular impartial third-parties include Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) and Comic Book Certification Service (CBCS).
Eaton and Soderberg discuss the reasons for submitting your books for grading or collecting graded comics in general. Is the additional cost worth it? Does it take away from the feel of a comic book? Is it the only way to hold the value?

Lessard is the creator and writer of the comic book series, THE SENTINEL. The saga has released the first two issues via Kickstarter and has been funded for the third issue, due out in the Spring 2022.
Sentinel's first two issues had art done by Jethro Morales and colors by Dash Martin. The third issue sees the addition of a new artist Javi Laparra and colorist Luiz Zavala.

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe flick released only in theaters on September 3, 2021. It was the first movie released by Disney during the pandemic directly into the theaters. The film headed to streaming free with a Disney+ subscription on Friday, November 12 and will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on November 30.

Paul Eaton of Galactic Comics and Collectibles joins Adam Morrisette and Justin Soderberg to discuss what has been going on at his shop recently.
Eaton opened Galactic Comics over two years ago now and has been running the shop on nights and weekends, while still working his day job as General Manager of Advanced Auto Parts. However, things have changed. On September 1, 2021, fittingly new comic book day, Paul was able to take on the shop full-time and leave his auto parts job behind him.
The trio discusses Paul's shop and the comics world in general.
