Here Today; Here Tomorrow

By: Melanie Quinton

IB: God

2-26-24

We don't have to worry about tomorrow,

don't sit & wallow in your sorrow.

For the Lord is already there;

He knows of all our care.

Praise Him today,

And watch all your cares melt away.

We are in this world not of it;

Lean into the direction of the Holy Spirit.

He will guide, he will protect, He will love;

With the love that comes from above.

Praise Him today;

And watch all your cares melt away.

Fear and doubt; don't try to hide;

For the Lord, Jesus resides.

He will reign on heaven & earth,

He is the one from the virgin birth.

Jesus, Messiah, Lord of all,

Listen to the call, from the one above all.

The world we live in;

Is full of sin.

That isn't how your story began;

That isn't how your life will end.

Praise Him today;

And watch all your cares melt away.

Have a blessed day!

7 days Until Christmas

By: © Melanie Quinton

IB: God

Date: 12-18-23

Only 7 days until Christmas,

Hustling and Bustling to take care of Christmas wishes.

Some people are missing loved ones this season.

Let's lean into Jesus for he is the reason.

Checking those lists not once but twice,

Trying to see who is naughty or nice.

Decking the halls with mistletoe and holly,

Trying our best to remain joyful and jolly.

Take time today to take care of yourselves,

How else can we help like Santa's Elves?

Go be the light in someone's darkness,

Spreading love, laughter, and kindness.

For we never will know of the impact that we have shown,

Until we are gone and by the throne!

Have a blessed day! IB God 12-18-23

Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and light for my path." No matter what darkness you are facing; the Lord is the lamp to guide our feet. He will light our path. He will not cause us to stumble. All who are weary and heavy laden come to our father, and He will give you rest. He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Are you living your life for your purpose; or asking the Lord to show you His purpose for your life? We need to put the fruit of the spirit in our minds, our hearts, and our souls; and practice what we preach. We all have the same amount of time in a day. Are you wasting focus on things that do not matter? Or are you taking time to care for those who can't care for themselves? The Lord is straightforward when He tells us to care for Widows and Orphans. Also, to care for the least, and the lost. In doing so we will raise up a generation of leaders. The world needs Christians to pull together their resources; so we can stand against the attacks of satan!

Are you wearing your armor of God today? Or is it tucked back in the closet like everything else we may or may not need? When we choose to guard ourselves and protect ourselves by wearing the armor; we are choosing to walk in the pathway of righteousness. Thank you all for bearing with me through this difficult time. I hold onto the faith that oh yes, one day I will see my mama in heaven again and we will unite as sisters in Christ. Do not go through this day dancing around believing there is some superior being in heaven. Instead, of knowing that it is the Lord, Jesus. We can't do life on our own! If we try we will become exhausted and will not see the fruit of our labor. I have met a couple different individuals that believe in themselves; but not in God. And His word is clear. "If we don't profess him in front of our people. He will deny us in front of the Father. Please before your time runs out; get right with the Lord and others. Have a blessed day! Isaiah 40:31 "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." For all who believe in the Lord, Jesus has found their hope in the Lord. He is our strength when we are weak. He is our guide in the dark. He is the one that shows us which way to go. He is the one that guides us back to where we need to be. Where have you looked for your strength? Have you tried to be strong on your own? We need to lean into the Lord and each other during times of loss. Whether you are like me and have recently lost a loved one. Know this...There is hope in the Lord, Jesus that you will see them again. There is hope that their pain and suffering has ceased. There is hope that all things that were brought to cause us harm; will be worked out for our good.

Everyone grieves differently. Just as everyone rejoices differently. Allow the Lord to show you where you need to grieve in open, in private, or both. He will not leave you by yourselves. You are not alone on this dark day. Rise up strong in the Lord; and ask Him to lead you where you need to go. Leave time in your schedule to make time for yourselves as well. For if we don't care for ourselves; we will not be able to care for others. Do not do anything harsh, rash, or mean. Instead, address your feelings and ask the Lord to give you strength to endure. Do not be anxious about anything. But through prayer and supplications; let your requests be known to the Lord and He will be faithful to answer in the appropriate hour. Have a blessed day! Go be with your Church; and if you don't have one let the Lord lead you there. IB God 11-12-23Melanie QuintonPrayer Warrior/Devotional Writer

My Mother

By: Melanie Quinton

IB God: 11-11-23

My mother was like no other,

She loved everyone like it was no bother.

She embraced each and everyone's differences,

No matter what the grievances.

She provided love for her three adult children,

Even if she didn't know you; you were considered kin.

She loved her husband all of her life;

She enjoyed being married for 32 years; and living as his wife.

Her passing came as a tidal wave,

I am so blessed to know she is safe.

She went home to be with the Lord yesterday night,

She was ready to let go of the fight.

She had many ailments that slowed her down,

But none too big to deny the crown.

She knew the Lord with a childlike faith,

Showing others how to love and treat each other on the right path.

We will miss her smile, her laugh, and her silly talk.

She is now in a body that is able to fully walk.

Rest in heaven "mother goose"

Resting on Jesus we have nothing to lose!

One of her favorite hymns was:

Blessed Assurance that I will now sing.

IB: God

11-8-23

I am grateful for this very day,

I pray that I walk in the Lord's way.

I pray to be lead down the path that leads to life,

I pray to be a good, loving, and caring wife.

I pray that each person will change their wicked ways,

For we are entering into the last days.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good,

He loves each of us like any good father would.

Do not get caught up in the bustle of this season,

Always remember Jesus is the reason.

Slow down and count your blessings,

Appreciate all the fixings and all the dressings.

Stay the course this time of year,

Always remember to hold your loved ones near.

Do things that you enjoy,

Go out and be that girl or boy!

What is one thing you can do?

To show the love of God; He will be proud of you!

Have a blessed day! IB God 11-8-23

Psalm 1Read By: Melanie Quinton10-1-23Psalm 1:1-6 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction." May the Lord lead you to the path of the godly; and not the path of destruction! For the past four days I have been drawing closer to the Lord, Jesus. I have been at Heartland Great Banquet #78 and I wanted to have something prepared for you while I was gone. One of the things you give up for 72 hours is: phone, computer, time, and your agenda. I didn't want to leave for several days without making sure the podcast, devotional, texts and such went on. It takes intentionality to prepare all of this ahead to be sent in my absence by scheduling them at certain times. I tell you this to tell you one thing. You are important to me! A psalm of David: A song for the dedication of the TempleRead By: Melanie Quinton9/30/23Psalm30:1-12 "I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death. Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning, When I was prosperous, I said, "Nothing can stop me now!" Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered. I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, "What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness? Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord." You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!"Melanie QuintonPrayer Warrior/Devotional Writer

Psalm 29A Psalm of DavidRead By: Melanie Quinton9/29/23Psalm29:1-11 "Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings; honor the Lord for his glory and strength. Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in splendor of his holiness. The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon's mountains skip like a calf; he makes Mount Hermon leap like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes with bolts of lightning. The voice of the Lord makes the barren wilderness quake; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare. In his Temple everyone shouts, "Glory!" The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever. The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace." Psalm 28:1-9A psalm of DavidSeptember 28, 2023Read By: Melanie Quinton"I pray to you, O Lord, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die. Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary. Do not drag me away with the wicked--with those who do evil--those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts. Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they have done to others. They care nothing for what the Lord has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt! Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. The Lord gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king. Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever." Just like David in this psalm how many times have we started complaining about others and where they have fallen short; and forget that we have fallen short also. Praise the Lord for all He has done; and is doing! Have a blessed day!Melanie QuintonPrayer Warrior/Devotional Writer

A psalm of DavidPsalm 27:1-14 Read By: Melanie Quinton9/27/23"The Lord is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the Lord--the thing I seek most--is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music. Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming." Do not turn your back on me. Do not reject your servant in anger. You have always been my helper. Don't leave me now; don't abandon me, O God of my salvation! Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close. Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence. Yet I am confident I will see the Lord's goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous." May God continue to bless your souls! Psalm 26A psalm of David.Psalm 26:1-12 "Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Put me on trail, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart. For I am always aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your wonders. I love your sanctuary, Lord, the place where your glorious presence dwells. Don't let me suffer the fate of sinners. Don't condemn me along with murderers. Their hands are dirty with evil schemes, and they constantly take bribes. But I am not like that; I live with integrity. So redeem me and show me mercy. Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord." A psalm of DavidPsalm 25:1-10Read By: Melanie Quinton9-25-23"O Lord, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands." A Psalm of DavidRead By: Melanie Quinton9/24/23"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord's blessing and have a right relationship with God, their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Open up, ancient gates! Open up ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven's Armies--he is the King of glory." Remember you are a child of God and He loves you! Have a blessed day! Melanie QuintonPrayer Warrior/Devotional Writer

"Listen," he said, "we're going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead."

Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up all. I ask that you fill them with your Holy Spirit. I pray that you give them the strength to face this day. Lord, allow them to lean into you and your understanding. Lord, guide us and lead us this day. Dear Father, restore what is broken. Renew our faith in you and the unseen. Provide from your riches in heaven. Help us to know you more. Give us confidence in you; and all you have for us! Wherever there is sickness; bring healing. Wherever there is confusion; bring clarity! Lord, wherever there is division bring unity. Allow us to seek your will and your way. Allow us to forgive one another and ourselves this day. Lord, open up the eyes of our hearts. Show us the error of our ways. Bring us into a better place. Give us provision and abundance. Lord, you are the provider. You have more than enough to sustain us. Allow us to depend on you and seek you out each moment; of every day! Order our steps in your word, Dear Lord! Awaken our souls and feed us your spiritual food this day! Lord, take away any reservations we have on fully surrendering our wills and picking up yours. You are the light in our lives; help us to shine it bright. Allow this day to be one to remember. Lord, help us to appreciate all that is in this day. And help us to see good in all people. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you today that you are always with us. I thank you for putting your loving arms around me in the form of my co-workers yesterday. Lord, I am so thankful that your angels kept me safe in my fall down about 8 stairs at work. Thank you for the quick response from my work family. I am thankful I only suffered minor injuries. I remember as I was on my way down saying, "Oh Lord". I know that you hear us even when we don't have the words to say. The moral of yesterday's story is this. Make sure you take your time down the stairs; and hold on to the handrail. That is what it is there for.

I also want to thank my husband for being so kind, patient, and calm during my trip to triage. There could have been a different outcome. I am living and walking proof that the Lord is with us. As I began to fall I closed my eyes; and felt my body rapidly bump down the stairs; and then when I landed at the end; I bumped my head. I didn't pass out and I didn't break any bones. I definitely was more humbled yesterday. I share this with you; not to alarm you. But to let you know how fast your life can pass before your eyes. Make sure today you are saved; and the Lord has you in His arms. Peace be with you! In Jesus Name Amen. Have a blessed day! New Year

By: Melanie Quinton

IB: God

1-1-2023

Today is the first day of a new year,

Go out and do the things you hold dear.

Visit your family and friends once again,

It is always nice to be around kin.

This day starts a new beginning,

We live with the risen king.

Do not spend one more day headed in the wrong direction,

Ask the Lord for His hedge of protection.

Enjoy this year like no other,

Spending time with your father, mother, sister, and or brother.

For we do not know when life will end,

Do not lose Jesus as your friend.

Put him first and all other things will fall into place,

For His yoke is light and easy in His holy presence.

Happy New Year,

Trust the Lord and do not fear!

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for a revival in all the hearts of your children. I pray for those who have denounced you to come to you this new year. I pray for broken hearts to be mended. I pray for the lost to be found. I pray for infidelity to experience fidelity. I pray for the poor to be rich. I pray for a renewal of minds, spirits, and souls. Lord, bring forth your spirit into our lives. Guide us in the way we need to go. Help us to put away this past year; and prepare for a new year of exciting times. Lord, where there is grief bring us joy. Lord, heal our land! Lord, take away the destitute. Give us an attitude of gratitude. Help us to not be entitled people; but people who are blessed by the Lord almighty.

Lord, where there is a need for healing please bring that. Lord, where there is brokenness; please bring wholeness. Lord, there are so many trenches people are walking through these days. Help them to cast their cares on you; and learn to trust you and your timing. Help the new year be full of promises; and not of despair. Lord, give us your peace that passes all understanding. Your peace that makes all crooked places straight. Your peace that brings forth joy, love, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and faithfulness. Lord, give us this day our daily bread and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. In Jesus' precious name Amen. Have a blessed day! Happy New Year IB God 12-31-22

What Christmas Means To Me

By: Melanie Quinton

IB: December 21, 2022

Christmas means Christ is with me. Christmas means that kindness, joy, laughter, and happiness; are in the air. Christmas is a time of reconciliation with our family and friends. Christmas is a time of remembering the ones gone before; and the family still here. Sometimes we can't be with those we love for Christmas; for one reason or another. And that is a hard thing to experience. However, I know that having the Christmas sprit in me; allow Christ to shine through me.

Children are a big part of my Christmas. The anticipation of waiting to see their faces; when they open their presents from under the tree. My husband and I couldn't have children. However, God has blessed us with so many in our lives. Our friend's children become like nieces and nephews to us. Our own nieces and nephews give us joy and love. Christmas is about the presence of Christ; and our loved ones that make it so special. I pray we remember what this season is all about. I pray that as we celebrate with our friends and families; we will put our differences aside and come together as one body. What does Christmas mean to you? Have a blessed day. On The Week Before Christmas

By: Melanie Quinton

12-18-22

Only a week out until Christmas comes to town,

Jesus has been all around.

He brings the hope of a new way,

Are you praying for that to begin today?

Do not lose your faith in the cross,

He will break through the pain of any loss.

He is the one that makes all things right,

He is the one that helps us to stand and fight.

The Lord is our shepherd through anything,

He will give us a new song to sing.

Prepare your hearts to receive His gift of eternal life,

Do not continue one more day living in strife.

Only a week out until Christmas comes to town,

Turn your frown upside down!

Look at the joy, the hope, the love; all round!

Only a few days until Christmas!

By: Melanie Quinton

12-17-22

Each day has come and gone,

Each of us preparing for the one.

Only a few days out from Christmas day,

I don't know what to say.

Embrace your time with your loved ones this day,

Checking in to make sure they are okay.

Do not let a day go by without showing the love of Christ,

For He paid the ultimate price.

Dying on the cross for all of our sins,

Being the hope that rises again.

Do not let the spirit fleet from within,

For the Lord's love is how we win!

Life is moving fast these days,

Make sure you are following His ways.

So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Bustle & Hustle

By: Melanie Quinton

12/9/22

The sound of whistling in the air,

While kids are follicking without care.

Bell Ringers at all your favorite stores,

Raising funds to care for the poor.

Garland & Holly decked around the tree,

Taking in all the beauty you can see.

Slow down and take it all in,

Do not forget to make a call to family and a friend.

For once it is all said and done,

Did you take the time to go and have some fun?

Or are you in the bustle and hustle; losing the joy,

To inherit the kingdom of heaven; remember, to be like a little girl or boy.

Enjoy yourselves this Christmas season,

Remembering Jesus is the reason!

Dear Heavenly Father as we start the month of December; I pray for a revival. Dear Lord, I lift up all supplications for all people on their behalf. Help them to release the bondage. Help us to remember why we celebrate Christmas. Help us to lay down burdens and strongholds; and pick up our cross and follow you. Lord, be with us this holiday season. Help us not to lose the focus of your mission. That all be saved and have eternal life. Each day should represent Christmas. It is Christ with us! Dear Lord, I pray for the broken, I pray for the lost, I pray for the least, I pray for those who have followed for a while to have a renewed faith in you. I pray that we all treat each other the way we want to be treated. Lord, I ask across the world that you would open hearts and minds to receive your good news. Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for anyone who has ailments; that they would be made well. I pray for your anointing over all leaders of all the Churches. I pray that they present you in the proper way. We are the Church wherever we are! Help us to be the Church outside of the building. Lord, heal our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Lord give us today our daily bread! Consecrate our hearts to beat for you! Lord, remove the darkness, the heaviness, the loneliness, the confusion; and cast it into the pit of despair to never be placed on the hearts of the world. Help our world Lord; for we are oppressed, depressed, and confused. Restore our wisdom from you. Help us to discern truth from lies. Go before us on this day and always. In Jesus Precious Name Amen. Have a blessed day! IB God 12-1-22
