Dave's platform centers around the pursuit of excellence despite severe adversities.
He is a CEO and industry leader in the San Francisco Bay Area, who also suffers from bipolar disorder and is a recovering alcoholic. He is transforming the dialogue on mental illness and addiction and helping others rebound towards their own entrepreneurial success stories.
"I grew up in nineties’ Oakland with an American mother and Iranian father. As a respite from early symptoms of depression and trauma at home, I took to drugs and drinking. While a love for reading eventually got me out of trouble and through Dartmouth College, I never stopped using alcohol to treat an unknown illness. In my early twenties, after mania and depression finally drove me suicidal, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. A decade-long battle with mental illness and addiction ensued. But my life now is unrecognizable from its darkest days - I'm a husband, father, and the CEO of an expanding, eight-figure real estate enterprise.
I've leveraged my experience with bipolar and addiction and later business success to carve out a platform in the entrepreneurialism and mental spaces. I've been featured on multiple podcasts and interviews to discuss my entrepreneurial journey in real estate, my dual diagnosis, and their unique dichotomy. My forthcoming memoir entitled Coming Up for Air tells the story of my battle with bipolar disorder and addiction and illuminates my journey to business success." - David Shamszad

In many ways, this episode is different from the last 16 episodes. There are some similarities, as my goal is always to help you achieve your goals, but this episode will not be as "motivating" as others.
In this episode, I go over six benefits of practicing forgiveness. I talk about how you are holding yourself back from success by not letting go of the past. Whether for something significant or minor, we are all given opportunities to forgive other people every day.
If you live your life as someone who punishes others rather than forgiving them, this episode will benefit you greatly.

Do you think you're done with school? Maybe so, but I hope that doesn't mean you are done learning. If it does, then plan to be stuck with the likes of Blockbuster, Blackberry, Xerox, and the countless other companies that thought they did not have to change, adapt, and learn. They thought they knew it all, and look where it got them. Last I checked, Blackberry had 0.2% of the market share.
In this episode, I explain what it means to be a perpetual student. The pros and cons of it, and I give you seven actionable steps to teach you how to become a perpetual student, so you can better achieve your goals.
Whether you are an employee, entrepreneur, student, or nothing, this episode will show you what to do and how to do it. Give it a listen, or your money back.

When we look at someone successful, we only see their wins. We don't see the hours, months, and years they spent learning and grinding to get where they are now. No one talks about Tom Brady's 212 career interceptions or crazy diet and training schedule. They only talk about his touchdowns, and 7 Super Bowl wins.
The thing is that no one survives 22 seasons in the NFL and wins 7 Super Bowls without consistency and without doing what works daily and weekly for decades.
I'm not saying you can play in the NFL for 22 years. If you're young and driven enough, then you can. But if you want to improve any aspect of your life, you can do so by being persistent in achieving your goals and consistent in your habits.
This episode will give examples of what you can do to learn how to apply consistent persistent actions that will be manageable and will only help you.
Have a listen and give it a try. Set a goal, and get after it.

Are you ready to fail? Are you open to learning from your mistakes so that you can improve? These are questions you must ask yourself before taking a significant step in life and trying something new.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." - Babe Ruth
Cecil Gomes embodies that statement. In this episode, you'll hear how he got started in real estate investing. The wins and losses that followed, how he set a goal for himself, and he has not stopped chasing it since. You'll also learn about his mindset around making and learning from mistakes. Listen carefully for that segment, as it is a vital part of the episode. His mindset is something everyone can learn from, regardless of the size of their goal.
As always, my hope for each episode is that you enjoy what you hear and that you learn something new. That shouldn't be an issue with this one.
Set a goal, and get after it.

Hello World!
This short clip is an introduction to Relentless Ambition. A weekly podcast where I interview people who do not know the meaning of the word "quit." They have set lofty goals for themselves and exceeded them. They are no stranger to mistakes and failure, but they instead view these as learning opportunities on which to build a stronger foundation.
Tune in every Monday to start your week off on a good note!
