Our hearts are the seedbeds of our desires, and both good seeds and bad seeds are sown and sprout. Given our fallen nature, it is our responsibility to ensure we maintain our hearts garden, that we are diligently and identify, and pull out, by the roots, the the bad seedlings before they grow, the longer we leave them, the bigger the plants root system, the more work it takes to remove them.
As the people of God sojourn on the earth, waiting to inherit the new heavens and the new earth. While we are sojourning, what are we treasuring? What should we be treasuring?
Essentially, the earth is a temporary home, people are born, then live their lives, die and then leave the earth. The doctrine of sojourning is about understanding what has taken place before, what will take place in the future and the hope that the people of God have.
