Join us each week as our pastors bring messages of hope and salvation from the Bible. Creekside Church Wasilla, Alaska
PRAY CONSISTENTLY AND PERSISTENTLY knowing we have a LOVING FATHER who HEARS and ANSWERS our PRAYERS
Worry RUINS our heart leading to ANXIETY, but Jesus ANCHORS our heart leading to PEACE.
-God is more interested in our heart than our fancy words!
-The Lord’s prayer is not only an instruction manual on how to pray… it’s also a standard by which we can examine our own lives. Where am I at?
Only by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT can we OBEY Jesus’ command to LOVE and PRAY for
our enemies instead of seeking REVENGE or RETALIATION against them.
GOD is a PROMISE KEEPER and as CITIZENS of His KINGDOM, we should be PROMISE KEEPERS too
God LOVES MARRIAGE, HATES DIVORCE and has GRACE and MERCY and FORGIVENESS for people living in both realities.
As we look at these passages, I believe there are several things we need to hear God’s Word teaching us…
Marriage is created by God and is sacred, we need to honor our vows and take them seriously.
Divorce is not the ideal but is permissible in limited situations but not mandatory.
With relational brokenness, when possible, pursue reconciliation.
If we have the HEART of Jesus…we will see LUST as a SERIOUS SIN and will DEAL with it DRASTICALLY
If we have the HEART of Jesus, when we are ANGRY, we will seek RECONCILIATION instead of RETRIBUTION.
By our ‘SALTINESS’ and ‘BRIGHTNESS’ , we should POSITIVELY INFLUENCE OUR WORLD and BRING GLORY TO God!
We must be WILLING to endure PERSECUTION while REJOICING knowing our REWARDS will be GREATER!
The righteousness of God is the only thing worth pursuing and the only thing that will truly make us happy.
The resurrection of Jesus empowers us to move from…FEAR to PEACE…DOUBT to BELIEF…and that BELIEF leads to being BLESSED (HAPPY)
Meekness is not weakness. Being meek imitates the character of Jesus and it signifies we are his heirs.
True happiness is found only by entrance into His Kingdom…that means we have to become one of his SUBJECTS, acknowledging him as KING of this Kingdom…entering in by submission to his sphere of life, his rule, his authority and his blessing…that is the only place true happiness, according to Jesus, can happen.
An introduction to the new series, Love Changes Everything, based on the greatest commandment, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
We will be a loving community when we sacrificially, tangibly and with action oriented love, meet each others needs. Our devotion to fellowship celebrates the relational fellowship that exists between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and proves that we are disciples.
QUOTE – Oswald Chambers, “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.”
Because Jesus acts toward us as an Everlasting Father, we will be safe and satisfied forever. This is the PEACE we have to make it through today, and it is the HOPE that we have for a promising future with him, forever!
Because Jesus is our MIGHTY GOD, we should be quick to TRUST and WORSHIP and SERVE him as KING.
Jesus, our wonderful counselor, knows everything (about everything, including me and my life), is always present (never leaves us alone to figure it out), and is powerful enough to handle, fix, and heal every broken, scary, painful situation in my life (out of his great love for us)... so we can run to him, trust him and follow him.
In light of all that we have learned about Jesus...we must live a life of FAITH...running our race with ENDURANCE
God has done everything necessary for us to experience HIS REST, we either enter it or we don’t.
Because Jesus is the BETTER PROPHET, we can believe and trust him…softening our hearts, listening to his voice, obeying his commands, experiencing His rest
Jesus is the BETTER MEDIATOR and the BETTER COVENANT...saving us and restoring us to the Father.
Just like Joseph’s brothers, we have been FORGIVEN of our evil actions through Jesus, who will NEVER CHANGE HIS MIND, offering us instead peace, mercy, healing, kindness and forgiveness...WITHOUT AN EXPIRATION DATE. We can be SECURE in the truth of God’s forgiveness of our sins...RUNNING TO HIM IN CONFIDENCE when we sin against him...not running away from him because of fear or shame...He will never change his mind about his forgiveness toward us...and that is the good news!
The waiting room is challenging, but we can survive it, have joy in it and even glorify God in it.
God is just as interested in the work he is doing in you “IN THE PLAN” as he is with the work he will do through you at the “END OF THE PLAN”
Our ATTITUDE towards the ‘unworthy’ has to change or our ACTIONS will never follow
the grace and mercy of Jesus
The Holy Spirit empowers us to endure difficult situations with courage, obedience, and joy.
The powerful PRESENCE and never-ending PRAYER of Jesus leads to our radically TRANSFORMED lives
As we trust Jesus with our BROKENNESS, we can experience his POWERFUL, SOVEREIGN and LOVING healing
We are only able to discard our old sinful self when we allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds enabling us to worship Jesus with our new self.
Live your life so that others are the point, unity is the goal, proclaiming Jesus as the King.
We worship Jesus when we serve each other with our gifts...blessing the Creekside Church family and bringing glory to God through Jesus!
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord REQUIRE of you but to DO JUSTICE, and to LOVE KINDNESS, and to WALK HUMBLY with your God?”
Because God has gifted to us his great love, power, and peaceful presence, we are able to radically love, trust and glorify him!
The GIFT of God’s GRACE did what I COULD NOT DO so that I could do what I WAS CREATED TO DO.
To be a more effective Pray-er and never run out of things to pray for again, pray God’s words back to him; PRAY THE BIBLE!
By following the example of Jesus, prayer will be a priority in our daily life and it will be a measurable expression of our dependence on and intimate relationship with the Father.
The resurrection of Jesus enables us to move from...FEAR to PEACE...DOUBT to BELIEF... and reorients our lives to accomplish HIS MISSION instead of OUR ‘SHADOW’ MISSION
Jesus, modeling humble obedience, loved sacrificially and revealed himself miraculously so that we might believe in him, experiencing forgiveness and restoration with the Father.
The Lord’s prayer is that we would be kept in His name, set apart in the truth, and unified for His glory alone.
Because Jesus has overcome the world and is with His Father, we can prayerfully endure tribulation with His all-sufficient peace.
As we LISTEN & RESPOND in obedience to the Holy Spirit, we will FIND SALVATION for our souls, we will EXPERIENCE DIVINE GUIDANCE in our everyday lives, and we will BRING GLORY to Jesus!
Note: Due to technical issues at the 11am service, the 9am Sign Language service is posted.
When we abide in Jesus & bear fruit, we prove we are his disciples and bring glory to the Father.
Because Jesus is greater, we can live in true peace, experience great joy and walk in deep faith!
We can love and obey Jesus because of the presence, wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit
There is no need for us to run to anyone or anything else because JESUS + NOTHING = ENOUGH.
Because I am graciously loved by Jesus, I will bring glory to God by loving others sacrificially, compassionately and cheerfully.
When I serve others the way Jesus served me, they will experience the love, humility and mercy he offers?
When I humbly follow Jesus I will produce lasting, meaningful, eternal fruit with my life.
Jesus’ glory and power were going to be displayed in the miracle of Lazarus so that we might believe in Him.
The Good Shepherd proclaimed the good Word and completed the good works that the Father gave Him, providing us with eternal life.
Everyone has a spiritual father...one leads to life, one leads to death. Who we follow has eternal consequences.
