Ritu Pasrija talked with me and Leah and encouraged Soul Parenting not Conscious Parenting. We talked about allowing our children to live their universal truth, work through their emotions, embrace tears, and embody the energy that flows through us and our children. Talking with Ritu was music to our ears. Remember this is not perfect parenting, in this episode it's not even Conscious Parenting, its Soul Parenting.

As the Conscious Parenting Series continue, Leah and I are diving into different topics that can be difficult for parents. In this episode we talk about how we handle our children when they are ill. In this high achieving always on the go society often our children are seen as a disruption to the routine when they are ill. We talk about steps to take to make sure they feel loved, nurtured and connected, why you the parent take a pause and breathe.

In this episode we explore the complex topic of discipline. Leah and I tackle this topic with our truth and growth as parents. This is not about telling you how to parent, it's about encouraging awareness. There is no one size fit all when it comes to parenting and the job doesn't come with a manual. However, we tend to  parent the way we were parented, so we encourage you to pause and become conscious. The topic of discipline might be triggering to you so please treat yourself with compassion and kindness.

Do you feel like you are being judged as a parent by the person in line at the store, or other parents? It is like the whole world is watching and judging. In this episode of Conscious Parenting Leah Abraham and I explored the topic of how other people's expectations influence our decisions as parents. We talked about the need to take a pause before reacting, being consistent with our response in the house and outside, building a harmonious relationship with our children, and most importantly to become aware of how we show up as parents. This series is to remind you that you are not alone in the hard job as a parent.

Have you ever wondered why you feel like you can't get it right as a parent? In this podcast Leah Abraham and I talk about how parenting is hard, and conscious parenting can be even more difficult as if forces us to face ourselves. This is why our tagline is "Conscious Parenting Not Perfect Parenting". In Part 1 of our weekly series on Conscious Parenting, we focus on the importance of parenting ourselves so that we can be aware of why we show up the way we do with our children. Why are you triggered by your children. Why do you hear your mother's words coming out of your mouth? As humans our core belief system drives our behaviors, but becoming aware, being an observer, and taking action to do something different is what this podcast is about.

Brooke Robertson is a Mind, Body, Sex & Relationship Therapist. She is passionate about holistically transforming relationships. Especially the relationship you have with yourself.

Did you know that nearly all of our actions are driven by our subconscious beliefs? Most of which are formed between 0 -7 years of age or from trauma. These beliefs direct the stories we tell ourselves about the events in our lives. This ultimately shapes our reality and can lead to feelings of insecurity, shame, anxiety, fear, isolation, and numbness.

The same guiding principles Brooke uses in her own life she shares with others. She takes a holistic approach to healing your mind, body, and relationships, by assisting you to unify yourself and your life in a connected way. She helps individuals and couples create true internal happiness and phenomenal relationships without having to remain stuck or break up. She helps you find balance and freedom, so you can live a life you love.

To truly transform it’s not just about working on one thing, but a holistic view of our mind, body, and relationships. Everything is connected and by making simple corrections across multiple areas (physically, emotionally, mentally, sexually, and/or energetically) you can achieve lifelong change. Therefore, allowing you to live a life of happiness, love, passion, and deep connection.

Vanessa and I  spoke candidly about breaking the cycle of silence around the sexual trauma she endured as child.

Trigger warning conversation includes talk about sexual trauma*

Vanessa Guevara worked in corporate for several years as a Human Resources Professional, but knew she needed to change her career. She was not fulfilled, she was not happy. She knew she wanted to make a positive impact on people's lives. She always loved motivating and inspiring her friends, even people she just met. It made her feel great, she knew she had a gift to serve.

Several years ago she hit an all time low, she was broke living in the projects with her mom. She knew something had to change. She didn't like the way she looked or felt.  Vanessa started going to the gym sparingly, she needed the inspiration to keep consistent with her workout regimen. She made a big life change. She changed her diet, became disciplined with her sleep schedule. She shifted her life mind, body and soul. It was time to live the best version of herself. Now Vanessa helps other women to transform their lives using Hypnotherapy and Wellness practices. She recognizes that her vulnerability can cause a positive ripple effect for other women.

Maria is on a mission to help thousands of women and female entrepreneurs heal from the cycle of generational trauma and its sometimes hidden effects so they can unlock their true power & potential and finally be who they were always meant to be: An empowered, free, worthy woman who feels deeply deserving of all that she desires.

Her deepest belief is that we all have the ability to turn our pain into power and when we do the deep subconscious healing, success and abundance naturally follow. That’s why she has dedicated her life to being a Trauma Alchemist and using her unique 7 Key framework: The Trauma Alchemy Code D.E.S.E.R.V.E., she frees women from childhood trauma and allows them to reclaim their self-worth, own their confidence, and alchemize their past into inner peace, success, and abundance so they can thrive in business, life, and love. Her healing is often described as magical because it is accelerated and fast. It doesn't have to take years and years. It’s based on her knowledge, wisdom, and lived experience of her own conscious and subconscious healing which she has artfully integrated into her work as a Rapid Transformational Therapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Breathwork Facilitator, Inner Child Healing Specialist, and published author. This meaningful cause is particularly close to Maria’s heart. Having overcome fear, past trauma, and being stuck in visibility fears and imposter syndrome to healing and thriving in life and business, Maria truly understands what it takes to overcome trauma and limiting beliefs in order to heal, transform and thrive.

Now she wants to pave the way for other women to do the same by inspiring them to alchemize their past into success and abundance and thereby becoming the changemaker in their family who sets the example of moving towards an empowered future for herself and the next generations to come, creating a significant ripple effect for change in the world.

Until about 12 years ago the theme of Marina Theron-Monnery’s entire life has been to overcome. In her own words: “my mess became my message”. Marina’s burning desire for many years was to master this life, as a long list of things that could go wrong, went wrong for her. From childhood trauma, relationship issues, abuse, financial problems, weight issues to ultimately cancer, she has been through it all. But, she is not there anymore. Today Marina lives the life she always wanted. Detached and healed from childhood trauma, in a wonderful and loving relationship, in financial flow, at a healthy weight and in phenomenal health. Marina had known for many years that her calling is to pay all the lessons she learned forward. First as a life coach and now as a Rapid Transformational Therapy® Practitioner. She knew if she could master how to let all the healings and changes in her life stick, that she has to help others who are stuck where she was. In Marina’s journey, she learned that it was the thoughts and images in her head that created the outcomes and reactions in her life. When she learned to change those thoughts and made better ones familiar, real and lasting changes happened.

My conversation with Diana Oskov was so rich. It reminded me of how many commonalities we share as people. Our love for our children and passion for travelling. Our discussion about breaking perfectionism and raising our children to be unique individuals was so rewarding. Diana's Story-Human behavior and the human mind had my attention for a long time. The Psychology classes at Yale University introduced me to a deeper level and inspired me to the neuroplasticity of the brain. I had the opportunity to study without realizing how close childhood adversity was to my family. Just because the issue is invisible we often tend to ignore it and not to see it, or we are just not aware of it as it was in my case. I see all this a bit too late to help my dad, but at least I have an answer now, and skills to help other people to overcome limiting beliefs and upgrade their lives.   My dad passed away at the age of 61 and the medical reasoning wasn’t satisfying for my gut feeling. I continue to ask myself Why? So I started digging deeper one thing led to another and this is how I discovered Marisa Peer and the Rapid Transformational Therapy – RTT  Graduating from the Marisa Peer RTT program as a Licensed Rapid Transformational Therapist I have the knowledge and the tools to help other people find the root of their problems and upgrade their life in a rapid way. Understanding the power of the mind and knowing how to use it to your own advantage is the most extraordinary gift we have as a human.    My mission is to provide you with the information and knowledge you need to control your mind and your life. You will work with me one on one, you will uncover your limiting beliefs, remove anxiety and upgrade and reprogram your subconscious with new positive habits and beliefs that help you to create the business, the income, and the life you desire for yourself.   I love life and travel. I love to explore new places, different cultures and meet new people. I am happily married to my husband, Nasko, for 16 years. We have two kids Daniel 14y and Annabell 12y.

Did you know that you have the power to heal your body with just believing that you can? My conversation with Carrie Mulligan was a wonderful reminder of the power of our minds.

Carrie Mulligan worked in trauma and critical care for over 30 years as a Respiratory Therapist.  After additional training as an RTT Rapid Transformational Therapist and certified Hypnotherapist, along with the incorporation of other alternative deep healing modalities, Carrie created Empowered Mind Transformation.

Who said men aren't suppose to cry? What are they suppose to do with their emotions? Listen to my friend Derek Butler talk about how he is working to break this and many other negative stigma about men's mental wellness.

Derek Butler is an Emotional Empowerment Coach, CEO of DB Empowers, Podcast Host, Real Estate Investor and the founder of M.A.D.E. MEN PROJECT. Derek’s purpose in life is to use his passion and responsiveness to motivate and empower men to steadily adapt, recover, and grow from overwhelming life experiences and feel safe, connected, and in control. Derek is on a mission to dismantle society's false sense of masculinity. Derek used to be crushed under the societal demands to be tough, deny any kind of vulnerability, sensitivity, or any internal pain or hurt. These beliefs prevented Derek from acknowledging, accepting, and expressing the unresolved trauma his life. Also preventing Derek from taking the massive action needed to adapt, recover, and grow. This is a sad truth that many men share. It's time to change that narrative! Derek is constantly working to help men experience more peace, calm, and better outcomes in everything they do in life. Derek equips and empowers men with applicable strategies to release negativity, think more clearly, respond more effectively, and show up every day with more confidence, certainty, and authenticity.

Sara Almaraz had an insightful conversation about breaking the cycle of sexual abuse toward the women in her family. She quickly recognized that she had to do it for herself and without the women in her family. Sara Almaraz is an Afro Indigenous Latina, Mama, Advocate, Homeschooler, Founder of We2 Alliance, Bilingual Advocate - Talking Trees, Inc, Director of Advocacy - BCAI Cultural Arts and Humanities She states, "I’m here for the hard conversations". The We2 Alliance connects with professionals, educators and supporters who understand the challenges of raising children after childhood sexual abuse or trauma and provide safe spaces to explore difficult topics.  The #We2 mission makes Talking Trees a two-prong approach to breaking the silence of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. In addition to helping survivors find their voice and live in their truth, we are requesting bystanders to identify as listeners and take responsibility to create a safe space for survivors to be heard.  Every survivor needs listeners as they travel along the healing path. They need listeners to break their silence, help them process, and to provide a safe space to release some pain. There are approximately 60 million adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America. Most have grown into adulthood without anyone ever saying as much as “I’m sorry” that happened to you. Half of the adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse will never disclose the experience. Victimization is an isolating experience that deeply affects many adult survivors for the rest of their lives. Healing should not be isolating.  The “We2” mission seeks to alleviate the isolation of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. - https://talkingtreessurvivors.com/we2/
