For Pride Month we are delving into one of pop cultures most famous allegories for under represented and marginalized groups: X-MEN. Animation once again holds its head high for a new golden age in the colorful medium. In this very special episode, we speak the merits of Beau DeMayo's leadership in the writing, the gorgeous anime inspired fight choreography, and its powerful, timeless allegories. In our latest Do We Recommend, we take a look at two important late works from two genuine American masters. "Killers of the Flower Moon" is Martin Scorsese's epic drama about the 1921 Osage murders in Oklahoma, told with a searing human angle. "The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial" is the last film by the late William Friedkin which is a master class in sustaining tension in a space with magnificent actors. These two films are also powerful explorations of American history and human psychology.

In 1997 acclaimed screenwriter Andrew Niccol made his directorial debut with "Gattaca," an elegant vision of a future where humans control their genetic makeup. A dystopian harbinger of the way we live now, it's been relegated to the zone of forgotten masterpieces only a few die hard film buffs remember.
