Hope, Trust, and Restoration are the pillars of our vision. We have hope beyond our brokenness and take practical steps to grow in our faith, to pursue healing, and recover from life’s injuries. We trust in our risen savior, Jesus Christ, to meet us in our brokenness and deliver us from our sins. We want to bring restoration for our community through the love and grace of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished by meeting practical needs in the everyday lives of the people around us.
It’s our desire to provide a place where people can ask questions about who Jesus is, learn what it looks like to walk in faith, and find connections with other people along the same journey.

Paul's letter to the Thessalonian church reminds us of a profound truth: even in the shadow of death, we can walk in hope because of Jesus. While grief is a natural part of life, our faith allows us to grieve with hope, trusting that this world’s endings are not final. Jesus promises eternal life and resurrection, transforming endings into new beginnings. Paul encourages us to choose hope daily and lean into our church community for support, helping one another surrender grief and fear to Jesus and receive His peace in return. Restoration is at the heart of God's love, and He invites us to be part of it through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When someone is trapped in sin, our role is to restore them gently, as God does with us. Sin brings its own consequences, but God doesn’t add to our guilt. The enemy tries to deceive us into believing that God condemns us like he does, but God's approach is always gentle. We're called to carry each other’s burdens and restore others in humility, without judgment. Jesus invites us to trust Him for rest, as He carries both our sin and our restoration.

I curse myself when I strive for perfection apart from God, judging others for the same shortcomings I possess and seeking fulfillment in things that don't satisfy. I can't manufacture lasting joy, love, hope, security, or significance, nor can I sustain the perfection required in work, relationships, or within my own soul. Trying to be my own god only leads to pride, anger, and exhaustion. We have two choices: trust Jesus to be God and let Him judge us, or trust ourselves and face inevitable failure. He’s claimed you and is not mad at you for being hurt. He has so much compassion for you. And with Him, the lies you reject will be the bricks you tear down so you can let in all the love and all the life you desperately need. I put the part of me that tries so hard to do it all by myself to death. This is called repentance. It means rejecting the lies of the enemy who wants me to isolate from God and others. I hand over my burdens and relationships to Jesus, surrendering the outcomes to Him. Jesus cares about both your big and small problems and wants to be involved in all of them. He stands at the door of your life and knocks. Let Jesus in and keep moving forward. Don’t go backward.

Naomi came to see God as her Security. She also became the grandmother of Obed and the ancestor of Jesse, David, and Jesus, our Savior. Sometimes, we don’t see what God is doing. Through Naomi’s story, God reveals Himself as the Orchestrator of Salvation, no matter the pain we endure. When we see God for who He is, we can also see ourselves clearly. When we believe lies about ourselves, God is still with us in the chaos. He’s always working to open our eyes to the truth, so we experience the fullness of life, right there in the chaos. It means going into the world with our eyes open, showing care and concern for others.

Sometimes, we easily trust Jesus when all is well. But in moments of fear and worry, we doubt that 'Jesus will hold this, and us, together.' Why? Because we often have a specific outcome in mind, desiring control over situations and people, even if our assumptions lead us astray. Yet, trusting Jesus means surrendering completely. He has something better for us, so we let go of our desired outcomes. When we're wrong, Jesus lovingly guides us with all we need because we're united with Him. He sustains us, reigning supreme over all. So, why insist on our way and timing? Jesus is utterly trustworthy. Will you trust Him with us?

Darkness's dominion equates to enslavement – a state of being separated from Jesus, where every attempt to solve a problem only compounds it, perpetuating a vicious cycle of bondage. Let's choose open and honest communication, releasing the grip of anger and allowing love to guide our actions.

What does it mean to be angry and do not sin? For many of us, anger has been portrayed as a negative emotion that should be avoided or worse, used as a weapon. Like any emotion, anger is the result of events or circumstances. This emotion, when rooted in love, can drive us to protect people, fix problems, or destroy evil. When used as part of an agenda, anger will tear down, wound, and cause pain. You can stand up for yourself and others in love and mercy. Focus on the issue at hand instead of the person in the situation. Ask God to bring peace into conflicts and let His kindness and compassion be at the center of conflicts. Choose to bring the love of God into the hardest places in your life so that He can bring transformation and healing.

The only condition our enemy needs to destroy the church is isolation. A generous giver needs someone to bless. We are called to be courageous in our vulnerability to ask, and courageous in our faithfulness to give. When we all do both, no one is isolated, no one is in need, and literally God’s Kingdom has come. Jesus is full of compassion for those who are in need and won’t talk. Jesus is also full of mercy for those who can give and won’t. So don’t give up asking for what you need, and don’t give up taking the risk of practicing generosity. You never know what will happen!

And when you start to get free, they’ll do everything to pull you right back into bondage. You don’t change people with anger. You change people with love. How do you help those who don’t believe? Untransformed Christians pose a significant obstacle to the secular world embracing Jesus. The credibility of the church's mission relies on the spiritual development of its members. Christian spiritual formation should not be seen as a tactic to alleviate guilt or gain God's approval, but rather as a grateful response to the abundant and wise love bestowed upon us by God. Grace loses its value when we attempt to earn it or view it as a permit to indulge in whatever we desire. God's work of restoration extends beyond our internal, individual, and personal lives. Jesus' authority encompasses all aspects of society. When we were created in Eden, we were intended to bear the royal image and collaborate with our Creator in responsibly tending to His marvelous world. Jesus is currently reinstating this noble human calling and inviting us to bring healing and transformation to every aspect of human life around us.

Every Christian has experienced the temptation to feed the old part of our hearts. But we know that when we feed that old, dead heart, it only leads to death. Feeding resentment, bitterness, and anger will destroy our peace and relationships. Continually feeding self-doubt and cynicism will rob us of our ability to pray and worship. However, when we choose to surrender every part of our lives to Jesus, we can experience the freedom of His love. Jesus offers to carry our burdens and helps us to overcome the temptations that lead to death. By living in the joy and fullness of His love, we can extend that same love to those around us, and in doing so, experience the true purpose and fulfillment that life has to offer.

We all struggle with something. If you struggle with fear, you may create a version of God that demands you to control every possible outcome. While sacrificial love can help you break down that persona, it doesn't necessarily make it disappear completely - you may find yourself creating another one. To truly overcome this, you must choose, with Jesus, to destroy that inflatable version of yourself. But how do we do that when we're afraid of being vulnerable with others? The answer is to choose love, which conquers fear. Perfect love drives out fear, and so we must choose, time and again, to be vulnerable and honest. As we deflate our personas and share our true selves, His love will continue to destroy our fears.

Jesus serves as the atoning sacrifice for you, and He loved you first. He doesn't love you only when you've earned it; He loves you unconditionally, right now. Jesus demonstrates His love by sacrificing Himself, and He blesses you through His love. To love others, follow Jesus' example by loving them first, without requiring them to earn it. Serve them and love them at your own expense, for their benefit. Through Jesus' sacrifice, we are free to be generous with our entire lives for the sake of others. We can lay down our lives for our friends because we already have everything we need in Christ. Every good gift that He has given us, we can use to love others.

Allow the Holy Spirit to change what you desire. You will start loving what and who He loves. You will start seeing that you can make a difference. You will risk loving others well. And then your prayers will start to change. You will discover that as you pray in line with God’s will, prayers get answered right and left. It feels like whatever you ask for you, you receive. But even when you don’t get what you ask for, even when God asks you to wait, you still wait with hope rather than anger or despair or doubt.

Righteousness isn’t perfection. Righteousness is being made right by Jesus, and being in right relationships with others. Jesus came to bring heaven to earth, and heaven is an evil-destroying, sin-crushing, death-eating supernova of God’s presence and love. He didn’t lob advice down into the mire of your brokenness. He came to you. Jesus died for you. And now Risen, Jesus does surgery on your dead heart so that your heart can be born again. And so you can love others.

Some of us approach Jesus as visitors rather than abiders. We come to wave to him every once in a while in church, but we have not intentionally gone out of our way to invite him into our everyday lives. To abide in Jesus we must deal with the noise that competes for our attention. Noise can be both internal and external. Noise can make us deaf to the voice of God. Our current epidemic of distraction is robbing many of us of the ability to be present: present to God, to other people, to our own souls, and to all that is good, true, and beautiful in our world. Slow down, let go, and abide in Christ.

Hate is not the opposite of love. Indifference is. Love is the energy directed towards another person for their sake so that it costs you. Hate is the energy directed at another person for your sake so that it costs them. Hate makes you blind. When you use all this energy against someone, you have no idea the damage you’re doing until it gets brought into the light. Jesus takes all your hate and absorbs it. This frees us to bring it into the light. Confess your pain, your hurt, and your hate. Confession breaks its power. Then you can forgive as you have been forgiven by Jesus.

Walking with God is about letting Jesus love all the parts of you, and then letting that love spill out onto others. You'll then be able to love your enemies, bear their burdens, and lay down your life for them. All because Jesus has done that for you. Your neighbors and friends don't care about your arguments or how many Bible verses you can quote. But they will be changed forever if you love them well. Be open to stepping out of your comfort zone and into the messy lives of those around you just as Jesus did the same for you. In order to be filled, you must continually be poured out.

Jesus knows all the dark places in your heart and in your behavior…and still he comes for you, still he pursues you, still he chooses you with all the love and hope and mercy and grace Heaven can provide. Confess and be forgiven. Be vulnerable and experience fellowship and joy. Jesus left heaven for you, has died for your darkness, and his greatest desire is to love you and see you healed. Do not delay. Take the risk to be honest with Jesus about what’s happening in your life and you will experience true fellowship and joy with Him.

And the book of Acts abruptly with Paul “Preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.” We bear witness to Paul’s efforts to spread the good news to the world around him. Until this point, we’ve only observed from the outside but the Holy Spirit wants more. We are intended to be characters in the Kingdom Story. As with Paul, we will experience our fair share of trial and rejection. The gospel journey is not an easy one. Thankfully we don’t have to go it alone. Like Paul, the Holy Spirit will enable and equip us to endure. Will you invite our king Jesus into your story to be the author and finisher of your faith? Will you share the gospel with openness, unhindered?

When you have Jesus, He will take the pain caused by others’ free will and turn it into something better. When you have Jesus, the hardship and the “are you serious?” moments still hurt but you can find meaning in the suffering. When you move through trials with faith and love, you allow peace and mercy to be part of the journey. When you have Jesus your life, even in the storms, there is purpose. What is the way forward through the storm? Listen to Jesus. You will not end up where you expected but it will be where you’re supposed to be.

What is the advantage of doing nothing when a need is placed before us? Doing nothing feels safe, costs us nothing, and avoids having to enter the messy realities of a situation. Scarcity believes that if I give of my time, energy, or money, there won’t be enough. So we hold back. You have people in your life, right now, that are in need. They need to be loved well. They are your children, your spouses, your grandchildren, your friends, and the people sitting next to you. Would you be willing to go to war against the lie of scarcity that you don’t have enough, so you can love well?

Today is about the heart of God for us when we face injustice, evil, or confrontation. As God’s people, we lead and live with the Gospel. Jesus is the Author and Creator and Redeemer of all things. And yet Jesus doesn’t live like he is entitled. Instead of demanding, Jesus sacrifices. Instead of insisting, Jesus loves. Instead of being defensive and accusing, Jesus speaks the truth in love. Instead of forcing, Jesus invites. Instead of controlling, Jesus allows for your free will. Instead of punishing, Jesus suffers with you and for you and in your place. You can trust this Jesus.

Obeying God always leads to life. Sometimes the path toward life is also painful, but God is never absent in your pain. God will use that grief, that loss, that terrible wound to reach more people with the hope of His love than you could ever imagine. God doesn’t allow pain for this purpose. Pain just happens. We live in a broken world, but God does take that pain and transform it for His good. You have a mission. You have a purpose. Don’t let pain stop you. Don’t let discomfort stop you. You’re not a doormat. You can speak up. You can have boundaries, but don’t you dare lose heart when the pain comes. Face your pain with hope. Face your pain with faith. Face your pain with prayers. Face your pain knowing that God will use it for His good.

You see, the church is not a building, not an event. In the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, you are the church. You get to join Jesus in his resurrection work. Think of all the ways you sacrifice in life- you sacrifice time for your children and grandchildren, you make time for medical emergencies, and you sacrifice and save to go on vacations. Jesus deserves your sacrifice, and so do the people He is putting in front of you. Your prayers and generosity make a difference. There are so many people who are dying all around us, dead from sin and rebellion. What do they need from you? They need you to go to them. They need your embrace. They need your love. They need your prayers. You might be the only church they ever see. He found you and healed you and now is showing you how to repent, how to have faith, and how to love. You have things to say and you have things to do that are important, that will literally bring life in the middle of a situation full of death.

The Psalms are literary art. Hebrew poetry invites us to slow down and experience God with more than our intellect- but also with our imagination and the full reality of human emotion. What do we learn as we pray the Psalms? We learn that intimacy with God is not the absence of adversity, but the presence of God within it. Intimacy is fueled by the Spirit and nurtured through trust. Intimacy is the gritty confidence that is grounded in the blessed love of God in the face of danger. The psalter was the prayer book of Jesus. When you pray the psalms, Jesus is praying with you, in his full humanity. And so is His church. You are not alone.

We assume hardship and difficulty are evidence that God has failed us. All of us wonder how God is going to accomplish his good and pleasing plan in the face of impossible situations. What is this “wonder”? It is a wonder of joy because we believe God will come through, a wonder of hope- because we trust God is good, and a wonder of love because we know God is head over heels in love with us. God overcomes our failures and our terrible wounds. God overcomes the brokenness of this world and all its gritty details of want and need. No word from God ever fails.

Listening to Jesus is paying attention to His heart and direction all throughout the day. We don’t listen once and then go off on our own. It is a continuous conversation. How can we recognize God’s voice among all the other ‘voices’? His voice becomes more familiar each time we pause to listen. When you hear the voice of Jesus, your shame is lifted. Your abandonment is erased. You are claimed as God’s beloved child. You now have honor embossed onto your very soul. It’s an honor that cannot be lost or tarnished. You are forever claimed by your Heavenly Father as wanted, loved, beautiful, worthy, and enough. This is God’s heart for you.

In the midst of the Christmas story, facing controversy and uncertainty, Joseph grabbed onto hope. Look at the impact of this hope: Jesus learned from his stepdad to love others even when it costs you. When Jesus faced his own death—the most hopeless and fearful of all situations anyone can face—Jesus took a page out of his adopted father’s playbook. Jesus submitted himself to God’s plan, one with lots of pain involved, even if he couldn’t see the other side of God’s good promises. So Jesus chose to die, chose to stay on the cross, chose to suffer its scorn and shame because on the other side of his death was the hope of resurrection…a resurrection he could not see.

We will be hurt by people around us. Sometimes it will be unintentional and other times they will actively seek to cause us pain. Our reaction is what happens to us when we are hurt. Our response is our choice about how we move forward. We can react with sorrow and pain, and then choose to respond with resentment, or choose to forgive. To forgive is to hand over the right to judge to Jesus. We cannot begin the journey toward reconciliation without first forgiving.

We have and will always face conflict. It’s just a natural part of life. How we handle conflict has a huge impact on our lives and relationships. Every conflict involves a calibration of two core values- the value of the relationship and the value of the issue. Our debates and decisions must take place in a community under the authority of Scripture, where we see the missional heart of God for all people. How can we use conflict as a bridge for the gospel of Christ? We must be sure to set our own agendas to the side, listen and obey the scriptures, and be willing to listen. Setting our hearts on the things above, we will allow the Holy Spirit to direct us in conflict and restoration.

As humans, we are full of contradictions. We want God, but on our own terms. The message of grace is this: You cannot earn the blessings of God. Nor will those blessings be exchanged for curses if you make a single mistake. God is gracious to you, not because of your character, but because of God’s character: our Heavenly Father is gracious. The story we all need to hear is how, even when we endure the hardships and sufferings of this life, our Jesus will sustain us…provide for us…resurrect us. Don’t share with your family member your resume of success. Share the story of how you were attempting to earn it all and it crushed you, how the grace of Jesus saved you, and how your faith in Jesus and the prayers of your friends helped you get back up.

When Jesus confronts you on your beliefs or behavior or responses to life, Jesus never uses the weapon of incompetence. He always pairs the truth with love. You are forever secure in God’s love, especially when you make a mistake. The choice we have is this: when I am confronted with the truth, will I respond with humility or anger? Will I repent and grow with the help of others, or get angry and resist? Don’t stop. Be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. Let go of outcomes. Keep moving forward. Keep loving. Keep going.

Prayer is such a powerful thing. It can breathe life into the dead and bring comfort in the middle of chaos. It's not a shortcut to our wants and desires. So often we can say we have faith in Jesus but we'll only ask Him to address the most basic areas in our life. We'll ask for money, health, or success. We'll make a request only if we get the outcome we want. True faith in prayer asks Jesus to transform us without any control over the outcome. It means putting our faith in him and obeying His commands. The greatest magic of all isn’t the power to get what we want…the greatest magic is the love of Jesus to meet the deepest needs of your heart that only your Creator can satisfy. Will you trust Him?

We cannot control the actions of others and the outcomes of their decisions can have a devastating impact on our lives. Every single one of us knows what it is like to live in bondage, shackled to our captors, filled with hopelessness and despair. Our ‘captors’ can be fear, pride, bitterness, abandonment, or worthlessness. They can be lies about God, ourselves, and others. The glorious reality of knowing Jesus is that now, by his strong and powerful name, those chains can be broken. You don’t have to live with the lies. What’s the point? Justice will come to your jailors. But you will not be the one who delivers justice. That’s God’s job. Don’t hold onto bitterness. Don’t hold onto anger. Don’t hold onto any chain or shackle that would bind you. Your job is to pray. Your job is to trust. Your job is to walk free and tell your story.

There is nothing that can separate you from the love of God. We can be led to believe that we are too dirty from past sins or unworthy to be loved by the rejection of others. There may even be people who we can’t forgive or whom we’ve labeled as beyond hope. Jesus died for everyone and proclaimed that every person is worthy of redemption. Jesus calls us to love everyone, so say yes to Jesus. Say yes to the Holy Spirit. Say yes to the deep truth that God has made you clean. Say yes to the adventure of listening to God and obeying God. Say yes to the adventure of sharing the good news with people you might have even written off.

Because the Holy Spirit convicts you. Leads you. Insists on you listening and surrendering. The Holy Spirit doesn’t care about your plans, timelines, expectations, or comfortable religious equations. The Holy Spirit has much bigger and better plans. Are you willing to finally trust the Holy Spirit? Are you willing to surrender?

God cannot be found at a specific address or location. He is not limited by borders, buildings, or boundaries. God sent the Holy Spirit to inhabit every fiber of our lives and affect the very DNA of our being. When we allow God outside of the boxes we place Him in, we can experience the fulness of the healing delivered by the Gospel. We can let go of our hurts, our fears, and our doubts. We can walk in the confidence of His strength into even the most hostile situations. Peace surrounds our souls when we relinquish control to our Lord Jesus.

When we are hurt, when we are in pain, when we see something going wrong, we have a lot of options before us: We can isolate, become bitter and resentful, deny our feelings and live with despair, trying to control everything and everyone around us while we are pretending to be fine. Or, we can courageously speak the truth in love. It’s easier to choose the temporary comfort of disobedience rather than the temporary suffering that might come with obedience.

On the Cross, Jesus took the shame you’re so desperate to avoid so that you never have to experience that shame. In Jesus, you are loved and forgiven and totally accepted—no matter what you’ve done or what’s been done to you. Jesus paid your debt. This means when you are honest with God about your rebellion, there will be no anger or condemnation, there will be only love and forgiveness. Jesus lived the life you could never live and now grants to you all the righteousness he has earned, which means you can stop trying to make everyone believe you’re perfect and you have it all together. Your right standing, your reputation—it’s already secure. So be free. Don’t wait to repent. Don’t hold onto your secrets a moment longer. Hold onto Jesus tighter.

The restoration of all things and the reuniting of heaven and earth has always been the goal of the gospel. The first fruit of this epic restoration was the resurrection of Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. When He returns, heaven and earth will be fully reunited and healed, but we don’t have to wait till his return to taste these times of refreshment. We get these foretastes as we gather in worship, as we listen to the Scriptures together, share our lives together, pray together, and serve one another and the world in Jesus’ Name.

The book of Isaiah opens up with Israel in full rebellion and the Lord revealing a vision of His glory to Isaiah. Holy, Holy, Holy is how God is described and the stain of Isaiah's sins immediately overwhelms him. Rather than shrink back in shame, an Angel rushes to Isaiah and touches his lips with a lump of burning coal. God removes Isaiah's guilt revealing God's plan to redeem this fallen world.
