What would we be without good advice?
At every twist and turn of our career and business lives, we encounter tips, tricks, hacks, courses and concepts that have the potential to improve how we navigate everyday challenges.
With all that goodness taking over your inbox, networking, classroom, drive and unwind time, we wondered: how easy is it to put it into practice?
Do we hear clever ideas, only to forget them an hour later? Is there really room in your day to try out all the new approaches you like the sound of?
This is a podcast hosted by Larissa Wright and Sarah Keen. We are both mums, business owners and avid followers of the world’s most innovative minds and voices. We aren’t naturally talented at implementing long term changes. Like you, we get excited, distracted and challenged at the drop of a hat.
So - who better to put to the test?
In each episode, we will talk about the advice we are going to follow, and in the next episode, you’ll get to hear how we went with it.
We’ll chat to experts, advice-givers and delve into what makes some pieces of advice easier to put into practice than others.
Most of us are lifelong learners, committed to bettering ourselves in our working, family and inner lives. We acquire knowledge to address gaps, grow new skills and learn new technology that will help us achieve our goals.
Not all personal growth needs to be focused on our biggest goals.
Learning for learning’s sake, or recreational learning, can improve quality of life, build friendships and relationships, improve confidence, resilience and mental fitness, and introduce us to new aspects of ourselves that we wouldn’t encounter in normal work and family life.
In this episode, we chat to Genevieve Mlotkowski about what she does to find meaning and fun in her life, getting out of her comfort zone and feeding her appetite for adventure!

How do your mornings usually begin? Do you wake with feelings of calm, gratitude, dread or worry? Taking charge of how we start our day means tuning into our inner state and choosing control, peace and purpose.
A big part of this is learning to breathe! Being aware of how we breathe throughout the day gives us the edge over the stresses we encounter, as well as invigorating us when we need an energy booster.
Join us for this fascinating discussion with Cindy Steer as we learn about morning mindfulness, meditation and all-day breathing for good physical and mental health.
Reference: Miracle Morning, Hal Elrod (2012).
About Cindy Steer:
Cindy is trained in Mind Based Stress Relief (MBSR) and Mindfulness & Meditation. She loves connecting and being with people and has spent her adult life working with all types of people, mostly in the health & travel industries. She is 28 years married with 2 x adult children.
“I am very curious about life, and as such I am always learning and evolving. In my 20’s I explored diet in relation to health, in my 30’s fitness, and in my 40’s I discovered mindfulness and realised the power it has to link all elements of mind and body and to include a layer of basic spirituality into life. I love seeing people thrive, and this is why I coach awareness; in people’s private lives as well as in their professional lives. I believe we can all be leaders, regardless of our position in life. It is about having a sense of inner guidance, compassion for others and a willingness to serve.
Cindy works with people to create space for them to choose how they perceive situations before responding, the ultimate opportunity to be free of personal suffering – freedom!”
