Ever wondered if your guardian angel is in the unemployment line? Moose and I kick off this episode by reflecting on some recent hardships and the absence of our producer Sarah, which has made us ponder the state of our passion for podcasting. We discuss the idea of needing a "hedge of protection" and how our spiritual beliefs intersect with personal struggles. Plus, get a sneak peek of some quirky topics coming up, like the "same height party" and the surprisingly competitive world of hobby horsing.
We dive into transformative steps for personal growth, emphasizing the importance of acting on excitement without expectations and maintaining a positive state. Have you ever judged someone based on a single interaction? We explore how these snap judgments often reveal our own unexamined beliefs. Our guest, filmmaker Daryl, channels Bashar, an extraterrestrial being from the future, offering profound wisdom and predictions about contact with extraterrestrials by 2026-2027. It’s a conversation that challenges you to rethink your preconceptions about the unknown.
As fall approaches, the shift from Big Yang to Young Yin energy according to Taoist principles becomes a focal point for how we navigate seasonal changes. From the fall equinox to an impending lunar eclipse, we weave humor and cosmic insights into how these transitions impact us personally and societally. We wrap up with the therapeutic power of laughter, hands-on activities, and staying spiritually connected—humorously suggesting we put our 'angels' to work. Don't forget to catch this emotional and enlightening rollercoaster on YouTube and Apple Podcasts. Special shout-out to our producer, Sarah Reed!Support the show

Have you seen the viral videos where baristas hand a coffee to a customer and their finger is in the cup? Then the customer basically asks to link the finger of the barista? It's meant to be funny, but we dive into the question: Would you rather be the licker or the lickee? Join us as we react to the eyebrow-raising viral video from Spring Garden Bakery and debate its authenticity. We have differing takes. What’s yours?
Ever had a hilarious mix-up due to a language misunderstanding? We share our own experiences, including an awkward encounter with a flight attendant and a Taco Bell mishap that led to some loud and enunciated orders. Suspicious drive-thru exchanges highlight the comical and sometimes frustrating world of communication gone wrong.
Then, we tackle a more serious subject—the controversy surrounding Target’s "OCD: Obsessive Christmas Disorder" sweatshirt. Is it harmless fun or an insensitive trivialization of mental health? We discuss public reactions and corporate accountability, while reflecting on our career aspirations and personal growth.
Kat and Moose Podcast is a true-life podcast where we explore the quirks of being human. Some have called us a "funny mental health podcast." What if you could transform your brain health with just a few simple exercises? This week, Kat shares her fascinating journey at the Brain Health Clinic in Nashville, where Dr. Tyler Hurst, a neurochiropractor, prescribed her unique exercises like neuromuscular pressure points and video game-like activities. Alongside Moose and Producer Sara, we explore the impact of these practices on balancing the nervous system, and the importance of supplementary habits such as gratitude journaling, Qigong, and staying hydrated.
Moose and Sara get personal as they reflect on the emotional complexities of letting go, inspired by Glennon Doyle’s heartfelt announcement about closing down her nonprofit, Together Rising. We chat about cold plunges, saunas, and the invasive nature of targeted advertising before diving into the challenges of ending significant commitments. By sharing our own experiences, we uncover the fear and discomfort associated with letting go and how observing others can guide us through these transitions.
We round off the episode with a nostalgic trip down memory lane, touching on everything from keto diets and 1-900 numbers to childhood sticker collections and Trapper Keepers. A particularly poignant moment is our rediscovery of the 70s spiritual song "Put Your Hand in the Hand," evoking fond memories and laughter. Join us for a heartfelt yet humorous exploration of brain health, personal growth, and the simple joys that make life sweeter.

Producer Sara shares her journey of embracing her pit hair, and we all question why leg hair is often deemed unacceptable. Ever wondered who can win a first-place award for eating watermelon? Moose kicks off a series of hilarious stories, including a family prank involving a photo album of porcelain dolls. Our banter takes a creepy turn as we discuss the unsettling experience of Kat having dolls in a treatment room. Politics, debates, and escape plans—oh my! We dive into the recent political debate, scrutinizing the candidates' performances and the effectiveness of muted microphones. Ready to embrace a fresh understanding of human development and evolution? This episode promises to take you on a meaningful journey along the Spiral Dynamics model, a unique perspective first conceptualized by Claire Graves. We’ll explore the eight intricate levels of the spiral, each offering its own strengths and weaknesses. From the primal beige to the egalitarian green, we'll uncover the nuances and how they reflect in our present-day experiences and interactions.
Our conversations don't stop there. We also encourage taking a step back from our fast-paced lives and reconnecting with the natural world. Discussing the transformative power of nature, we reflect on our personal experiences in Colorado's untamed wilderness and the spiritual revelations at the Angel Oak Tree in South Carolina. This episode is a reminder of how patience, persistence, and a deep connection with nature can provide an unrivaled perspective on our personal struggles and triumphs.
Finally, we navigate the inspiring world of art and words, highlighting how a simple act of encouragement can powerfully uplift us. We share our interactions with a charming elementary school's pep talk line and a heartening song about self-love. This episode is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Come along with us, as we celebrate the intricacies of human evolution, the wonder of nature, and the uplifting power of words and music.

Moose introduces this Shortie’s topic: the lies our parents told us. Will a watermelon grow in your stomach if you swallow the seeds? Lots of lies have been told to children about Santa and sex. And why are penis nicknames necessary? Email us at hello@katandmoosepodcast.com and tell us why! It’s nostalgic (or is it traumatic?) to revisit Shagnasty from the end of Episode 6 (if you haven’t heard this bit, you need to). But there are sweet lies, like the magic bean and the trampoline. Santa is real according to the Polar Express. Moose attacks her father like Mr. Miyagi in his Halloween house. Producer Sara educates us about The US NavySEAL Team. (and clearly Kat doesn’t know the difference between ballistics and bombs).

Moose gives Kat a gift, and that turns into questions only a man can answer. Masks make way for resting bitch face and religion, politics and people are maddening together. Kat and Moose each recount a unfortunate accidents they’ve been through and thankfully our well-endowed friend kept Kat from true roadside assistance.
There is such thing as a generic shenis - Moose proves it to Kat. Thanks, Amazon! Do men have to fold their parts? And should there really be any debate on mask-wearing? There’s something out there for everyone, even Kerri Washington and Moose can both show their stank face. Resting bitch face is real, even according to The Washington Post. OK and we all need roadside assistance at one point in time or other.

Hey, I'm Kat and I'm Moose and we're here to tell you what to expect when listening to our podcast. We are two friends who have known each other for over 20 years, and we talk about everything from our therapy appointments to the quirks of the world... and we really relay a lot of intellectual, factual information. We do! I mean, we are an expert podcast where we share facts... we share facts as they are believable in our minds. That is correct. What we hope to invoke is that feeling of going Oh, my gosh, "me too". And this is the part where it says if you like blank, you'll love Kat and Moose. So if you like Oprah or psychology or Brene Brown or numerology, if you like dogs or Liz Gilbert of if you're curious about why the mailman comes at the exact same time every day? We're gonna laugh our faces off because we don't know what we're doing. I'm convinced we're all just children in larger bodies. We're gonna figure it out together.
