In this passage we see Jesus in yet another confrontation with the Pharisees. This time it causes Jesus to turn and leave them. He tries to use what just happened as a lesson opportunity for His disciples, but it is lost on them. Jesus is then heartbroken and tries to get the disciples and you and me to wake up!!!
Familiarity breeds contempt. Many reject Jesus because they think they know who He is. And still others don't go to Him in faith because they are so familiar with stories about Him that they don't think He can surprise them anymore. We must protect against both mindsets and come to Jesus anew, with expectancy and trust.
