TODAY'S EPISODE - Recorded July 20, 2023Today's episode is about being told not to say "God" in the classroom and in April 2021, being told by the principal, "Leave Jesus Christ in the parking lot." I was inspired to do this story by Coach Joe from Bremerton HS. He is the football coach who took a knee FOLLOWING a football game. Won his case in the Supreme Court. There are times when I wish I had pushed back. Yet, I believe to leave the "pushback" in God's hands. If someone would like to help me pushback, I would consider that to be a sign form GOD: PUSHCBACK, PAUL!!

This happened to me on or around October 6, 2018. I was asked to change the name of a sophomore female student to a male student's name.
One thing not mentioned in the episode. I find out that the student - her senior year - changed her name back to her birth name. All that stress / drama. No "thank you" from the student for working with her issues. Being support. Being patient. WOW!
We (adults) need to stay in our "lane." I am a teacher, not a pseudo parent. I need to stay in my "teacher-lane."
Parents - there are teachers who do want to support you. Help your child's teacher!
Students - I know you want your teachers to be your friends, but why in the world would you want a teacher who is old enough to be your sibling / parent to be your friend? What does a friend look like to you?

What does the American Education system look like 38 years after the publication of this seminal work? Frankly -- a little known work. If I had read this book in 1989, I wonder how I would have felt about the American Education and / or the National Education Association?

Just think this is the 30th AND FINAL episode of this SERIES versus << Since January 11, 2022 - June 2, 2022, at "Pinecrest High School" in Northern California --- day-after-day telling high school students all the wrong our nation did... AND nothing about how the nation fixed its wrongs! Not telling high school students how our nation gets BETTER / GREATER is strange. Why wouldn't the adults / high school teachers tell our high school students how great our nation is? Answer: They do not want to share the principles given to us in the FOUNDING FATHERS' DOCUMENTS. We are able to get better because they (FOUNDING FATHERS) gave us a "moral compass" to fix our wrongs!Â

BTW... ask your school's administration, "Specifically - what classes are you offering to teach patriotism and / or love for the United States of America?"Â THEY WON'T HAVE THE ANSWER, or the answer is something similar to, "We don't teach patriotism / love for the United States because we don't want to offend anyone."
We continue to offer a rebuttal to ETHNIC STUDIES. Currently, there is no REBUTTAL of ETHNIC STUDIES in California public school classrooms. This episode was recorded on April 19, 2022. By the time this issue is "published" I hope our nation is still a nation and I still have people who care about me. I am baaaaack. I explain why I have been away from podcasting since October 3rd (directive from my former job). I give y'all a brief explanation for my retiring at 55 years-old and in the middle of the school year.
Clarifying: When I say on the podcast episode, "escape the 'chamber of horror'... that 'chamber of horror' IS being placed in the "cannot say, 'I love you" chamber and the "refrain from using social media" chamber. I LOVE MY STUDENTS. My students were my peace of mind / my mission from God!! I will miss my students. I look forward to returning to teaching at a charter or Christian school in California or one of those options plus public school in a state that supports teachers saying, "I love you" to their students and support teachers being able to use the FIRST amendment (Free Speech). Â

If there was ever a more critical time in the last FIFTY-FIVE YEARS (as long as I have lived) that our children - FRANKLY - ESPECIALLY OUR SONS(!!) need us... I DON'T KNOW WHEN THAT TIME WAS! On 2 March 2021, I had the great honor to interview one of my heroes: our son - LtJG Paul J. Everts; United States Navy. PJ and his family have just moved to Japan. PJ will be an officer on a minesweeper. I admit... seeing how our nation is behaving (15 April 2021), it challenges me to see our son risk his life every day he is on that minesweeper. Our (PJ / Me) hope is when you listen to a father and son talk, it inspires you to be a better father / parent! I am NOT the "perfect" dad (that's why I look to Christ to teach me to be a better human being) and PJ is not the "perfect" son. However, I have seen the results of our growing relationship and DAMN IT - it's a great relationship, PJ & I would love you to have a great relationship with your children. Hope you will be inspired to make every day special. You have fewer days to be a "hands-on-father than you do in your career!! Remember - your children become adults!
