Aviation is one of the safest forms of transport. However, it only became this safe through learning from sometimes catastrophic failures. Many of these failures were caused by a breakdown in leadership - either in the cockpit or from airline management. There is a lot we can learn about leadership in the corporate world by applying the lessons learned from the world of aviation and using stories from the world of flying as examples of what team leaders and leaders of people should or should not be doing.
