God's promises are all-inclusive, but are conditional. We must put Jesus first, giving Him full control of our lives and trusting Him with everything. The best question each of us can ask during a crisis is: "What an I do for others?" This week Ryan Leak spoke a powerful message about the importance of being "others" focused. We may not be able to control the circumstances happening around us, but we can control who we are becoming in the middle of it. We tend to be inwardly focused on what is happening in our own life, but lets shift our focus and begin to be outwardly focused. Lets be people who pray, encourage, share resources, and listen to others.
Easter Sunday is a day of victory and new life. Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt spoke a message of hope this Easter season. Easter isn’t something you celebrate it’s something you live. Christ died and rose again so we can have victory in Him.
In life, we all have experienced a situation where we thought, "Life's not supposed to be like this!" It is ok to grieve and experience sadness, but we need to remind ourselves we are just passing through and this season will not last forever. We are responsible in finding purpose in this season. The pressures and problems of life can cause anxiety and panic, but God has given us victory over anxiety. This week Jeremy DeWeerdt talked about 4 key components to overcoming anxiety. Through worship, prayer, petition, and thanksgiving God will begin to lift the anxiety off your life. These things will require repetition each day, drawing near to God, speaking truth over your life, and showing gratitude amongst the situation. Remind yourself you’re not crazy, you’re not alone, things will change, and this is not the end.
Many times, we are blind to areas of our lives that are creating the relational struggles we are experiencing. This week Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt talked about getting a fresh start in our relationships. He talked about two key components in having a fresh start: becoming more self-aware and forgiveness. Becoming more self aware means taking a step back and having an objective look at yourself. Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling. Never underestimate what Jesus can do when two people yield to Him.
Who is with us on life’s journey determines whether or not we get to our desired destination. This week Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt talked about 11 kinds of relationships we need in our life. We need 11 other influences and relationships to help us be everything God wants us to be. Who you are on the journey with is very important! The journey changes us, but it is people who we are with on the journey with us that God uses the most for transformation.
