Welcome to Conscious Club with Nadya and Sara. Here, we'll learn to be more conscious of the world around us and try to seem more put together than we actually are. Happy listening! Find us on our instagram @zafiranadya and @anikasaraa!
In this week's episode of Conscious Club, we discuss how capitalism entrenches upon the most important facets of human life. Through the means of a proposed omnibus bill and a new capital city, the overarching neoliberal agenda in Indonesia pushes capitalism to further extremes, meanwhile structural issues, created by capitalism, are not properly dealt with. This leaves us the question: how can we define progress and modernity that does not base itself on capitalist standards? All of this, plus an important discussion of how The Lego Movie (2014) might be anti-capitalist propaganda. Tune in next week for more conscious content!
This week on Conscious Club, we are joined by another speical guest! Shaumozza (aka Rara) dishes out (haha) all the tea (also haha? idk tea is food right?) about studying culinary (or is it cookery?), stigmas surrounding vocational school, juggling a part time job, and her boss from hell, as well as sharing some tips for working in the service industry! Other that, you can also expect Nadya and Sara to provoke discussions such as the dissimilarity between ratatouille in the Pixar film and in real life. Stay tuned for more conscious content! You can find Rara on instagram @shaumozza!
Let's talk about sex, baby, let's talk about you and me. No but really, we discuss more than just sex in this episode. On this week's edition of Conscious Club, we try to define sex education (is it really just about puberty?), how sex ed has evolved in the age of the internet, contraceptive-based versus abstinence-based approaches to sex ed, the importance of cultural contextualisation in sex ed, and the institutionalisation of sex. Peppered in with humorous stories about our experiences with sex ed in [redacted] school, of course. Tune in next week for more conscious content!
This week on Conscious Club, our good friend Sharon gives us a run-through of her life as a hospitality student and talks about her love of writing, prompting a conversation about the age old debate of pursuing your passion versus establishing a career and a discussion of our dream jobs. On this special edition of Conscious Club, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indonesia's independence by discussing our experience living as Indonesian nationals and the many ebbs and flows that come with it. We peel through the concept of nationalism and whether, much like love, can it be blind and unconditional. And if so, what does it imply? Stay tuned for more conscious content!
This week on Conscious Club, things are about to get personal as we discuss the tricky matter of health (and illness) beyond physicality and share our experiences, as well as exploring concerns regarding stigmatisation, accessibility, and the universality of our understanding of mental health in the third world. Stay tuned for more conscious content!
On this week's episode of Conscious Club, we are (once again) joined by not one, but two special guests! Dyandra and Zahwa help us navigate the pros and cons of going thrifting and how the thrifting trend sheds light on the complexities of sustainable consumption in a capitalist society. The "serious" part of this episode only lasts for about half an hour — as that's how far our brain capacity will go. Hence, the title of this episode. Stay tuned for more conscious content!

Not only will you find out what our favourite books are, but you will also delve into deeper questions in the likes of: what is "real" writing, and should we separate the writing from the writer? Another brand new episode of Conscious Club in which Nadya and Sara unveil the many, yet less discussed issues regarding Model United Nations (MUN) -- some structural, and some not.
