"Composite things are like dreams. Fantasies. Bubbles. Thoughts. Like a dewdrop and a flash of lightning; A new dress and a burning tire; Grains of sand and sinking ships; The shadow of a statue and an entry in a diary; A brain tumor and an ice cream sundae. They are thus to be regarded."

For the Disquiet Junto 0349, "Got Glitch?"
I decided to approach "glitch" in the sense of "randomness" as well as the typical buffer/grain effects associated with IDM. Also, as with most if not all of the previous Junto projects I have participated in, it was my objective to make the track rapidly (within a few hours) rather than prevaricate over every little detail as I sometimes do with my personal work.
As such, I decided to use the first ten samples I found on Freesound.org that had a Creative Commons 0 license to construct the track, picking with no particular idea or bias in mind. Some of these were musical, some were more like sound effects. I wanted to use as close to an arbitrary set of sounds as I could.
I arranged the samples in a fairly standard way to construct the framework of a track, and then used many VST's (probably too many to list, really) on each track to create the "glitch" effect. A little mastering work (thanks, Ozone) was the final touch to finish off the piece.

Trying something vaguely conventional for a change. Unsure of electronic subgenres. Uploaded as MP3 because SoundCloud seems to mangle them a bit less than FLAC.
EDM loops // arrangement // add violence = output.
Album in this style(?) coming in the future.
Note: SoundCloud seems to be doing something weird to the quality of this track. Please download the original file for optimum listening.
A cover version of the song "Rocket Jump Waltz" from the Team Fortress 2 soundtrack, based on an anonymous MIDI version found online. All the instruments used here are from Sonivox, largely by coincidence, and I changed all but the piano into different, but complementary, instruments to what they were in the original composition (e.g. trombone to trumpet, clarinet to oboe, etc.)
All in all I'm very happy with this rendition and think it combines the character of the original with its own flavour.
The original composition is by Mike Morasky. This is a piece of fan work and is not intended to infringe upon the copyright of Valve Corporation.
Slightly different version of https://soundcloud.com/aethyrulf/team-fortress-2-main-theme
Based on the piano cover by TheAeon on Musescore. Originally composed by Mike Morasky, rights belong to Valve, so on and so forth
Stripped-down version of the Team Fortress 2 main theme, based on the piano cover by TheAeon on Musescore. Two instruments and a little DSP.
Originally composed by Mike Morasky. This is a fan work and all rights go to Valve Corporation where due.
Using same loop set (although different samples) as https://soundcloud.com/aethyrulf/inamorato .
This time as I was putting the track together it sounded a bit like Sigur Rós, so I tried to emphasise that. I have a slower version but the drums sound a bit weird due to timestretching.
Title is Icelandic for 'winter nights', name of an Asatru festival.
A quick experiment with a Loopmasters indie set that I got for free. Channelling My Bloody Valentine with heavy use of Trash2 plus a tape sim. Not quite there yet. Probably more of this kind of thing to come.

Threw this through LANDR seeing as it's integrated with Sonar now.
