Since then, it’s been a long and complicated medical journey resulting in several diagnoses.

Being completely honest there is not a single part of my life that my health doesn’t impact in some way. Not that I let it stop me doing what I fully set my mind to, I’ve become very good at coming up work workarounds! I hated the timed mile back in grade school and high school. Remember those days? It was the ultimate test given in PE to see how fit you were.. how fast you were.. or for most kids, a reminder just how much you hated anything to do with running and therefore fitness. Because running was fitness.

We were also given “fit tests” as 9 year olds.. how many pull ups can you do?

What causes anxiety? How can you overcome it? CAN you overcome it or is it something that’s managed?

These are just a few of the questions I asked todays guest.

Sarah Wellner is a certified functional health coach and helps women who are privately suffering from anxiety kick it to the curb with holistic tools and resources.

In this episode, Sarah walks us through a little bit of her personal story and then we touch on her 5 pillars on how to manage anxiety when you feel it coming on. These 5 pillars are the tools she teaches in her upcoming online course.

If you are someone who struggles with anxiety and wanting some tangible tools to help you manage it in a holistic way when you feel like it’s starting to overbear your daily life, this is for you!

Sarah Wellner is passionate about helping women who are privately suffering with anxiety. After almost two decades of her own journey through diagnosing her anxiety, failing for years to get a handle on it through conventional medicine, and then more recently, finding her own success through holistic treatment and strategies, she is here to share what she’s learned so other women don’t have to go through the struggle and confusion she did. After earning her Functional Health Coach certificate last year, Sarah founded Wellner Wellness, where she is committed to helping women on their journey to successfully managing anxiety.

When you set out to identify your specific fitness goal to be achieved in the next 30 days, it must not be related to your weight AT ALL! No weightloss goals of x number of pounds or inches to lose. In fact, you aren’t allowed to step on the scale at all in those first 30 days. And my hope is you don’t actually step on it ever again!

Can I let you in on a little secret?

As you set your sites on these non weight related goals, chances are the weight will to take a hint and start to come off. It may not happen right away or as fast as you want, but it’s a great side effect to the goals you are already crushing.

Going your whole life not focused on your health and fitness dramatically changed in 2 major life events for Stacey Thury. The first one was when she became a mom. When it became difficult to conceive her 3rd baby.. especially after the first two were pretty much "on demand", Stacey had to make some changes and decisions when it came to focusing on her health and she talks about what that looked like. The second event in life happened nearly as a result of a book she read and how that changed the way she thought not just about her health, but her life in general. This is when she "became me". She talks through what this meant then and what it means now.

In this episode, we hear from Chrissy Papetti, a life redesign coach who helps chronic overachievers and perfectionists realize the power of their mind and how they can learn to heal their chronic pain. Her story is quite incredible as she takes us back to the days of being an athlete, primarily in dance, and how an injury led to her to nearly a decade of learning how to manage chronic pain due to an injury. Ultimately, what ended up healing her stemmed from a comment her mom made and the shocking realization of just how powerful your mind really is.

Lisa talks about the idea of setting INTENTIONS and why intentions have the possibility of sticking. She gives us examples of what intentions sound like and then gives us one very tangible tool we can start implementing today! It's one I've started most recently and with practice, I'm getting better at and can truly tell a difference when I do and when I don't practice it.
