In this week’s bonus episode, Angie shares a channeled message to invite the listener to lean back and reflect on where they are dimming their light. Whether we are afraid of judgement, feel like we don’t fit in our old life, or are worried we are too much for those around us, the truth is, women dim their light often…to the point of exhaustion, overwhelm and numbness. But, what would it feel like to let your light shine and be all of you…all of your truth? How would it feel to show up alive and awoken and willing to shine your light? That’s exactly what this episode will offer you to think about as you listen in and move forward each day.

A year has gone by with very few episodes up on the pod, maybe you’ve noticed.
What I thought would be a year filled with episodes and all the things business growth, the 2021-2022 school year quickly became a year of everything taking a backseat except for motherhood. And, looking back, motherhood has been all that I’ve dreamed but also my go-to hiding place.
So, here we are in September 2022. Our oldest just started her Freshman year of college, our youngest is settling into a fast track to finish high school early and I am taking a deep breath as I come out of hiding.
Listen in to hear more and, most importantly, take a moment for yourself to reflect on where you are hiding in your life.
I’d love to hear from you. Shoot me an email @ angie@angieschaffer.com.
For four months, I left the podcast go. My heart was heavy, my mind spinning with worry, and my spirit exhausted. I questioned if I would ever return to it. I contemplated a new name and look (this is still a possibility). I allowed the voice in my head to grow bigger and bigger that my words were not needed.
And, then, four months to the day of the last episode release, I felt the spark return and grabbed the mic.
This is the story of where I’ve been and a WELCOME back to all of my listeners.
With gratitude for your support and a peace in my heart that I am right on time on this release.
More to come…..

It’s been a few weeks since a new episode has been shared and there is good reason! With the start of the new school year our family has been helping our youngest daughter navigate her transition to high school and it hasn’t been easy. In honor of the our daughter, I’ve decided to release this mission driven episode today…her birthday.
In today’s episode you will hear our bits and pieces of how manipulative and mean girls has impacted our daughter for the past six years after a difficult third grade year and how it continues to show up today as a Freshman in high school. This is a subject that I know we share the struggle with other families and, it is one of my greatest missions to bring awareness to this silent epidemic and show up in a way to lead others to break the cycle of toxic friendships…starting with our own example.
I hope you enjoy the episode and find reason to share with your friends to continue the conversation. Together, we can awaken, heal and change the patterns and wounds that hold us back.
For more on this topic, follow me at @angielynnschaffer on IG and www.angieschaffer.com. Please email me with any thoughts, topics you’d like to hear more on the show, or for a listening ear at angie@angieschaffer.com.
In today’s episode Angie shares the inspiration behind her mission collected from a notebook with ideas and inspiration in 2019.
When asked by her coach and friend to write a letter of what she wanted her legacy to be, Angie ended it with “essentially, I want to be the mom who starts the ripple” and in a moment of reading through old notebooks, she realized just how she has done just that. Over the past 18 years, Angie has dedicated her life to motherhood and, more recently, healing patterns that cause suffering in her own life, her relationships with her daughters, and her daughter’s lives. This episode will give you encouragement to heal and shift in ways you never imagined.
Listen in to be inspired to stand up and be the mom who starts the ripple in your family!

Listen in and then lean into how the word regret plays out in your mind and motherhood. Is the worry of regret keeping you out of the present moment? Is regret causing you to hold on tightly and not allow the unfolding of your daughter’s journey? Are you missing out on the beauty of life by regret of your past actions? Those are the questions to ask yourself…then, remember, Release the Regret and Allow Joy to Bloom.

After a short stint she went into the corporate world and recently transitioned into working for herself, pivoting completely. She has worked for big companies: United States Secret Service, Nike and Apple, but always felt like her impact was meant to be more meaningful and bigger than what she was doing. It was through her personal development journey that she found her way to her current calling, Animal Communication and Healing and Human Design.
Now she lives within her Human Design and creates the impact that she has been longing for all those years. Sacred Soul Quotes by Jen:
“It takes a huge act of surrender to listen and allow our children to fully be who they are and not put our ego into it.”
“There have been many times my life has dramatically altered course because I allowed my children to be my teacher. We are in a time of collective rising especially around the healing of the feminine and the children (boys and girls) are here supporting us and, if we listen, our children are all teaching us.”
“Letting your children be who they are and not making it about us.”
“When we can witness ourselves as mothers and daughters and see how we do it differently and when we can stop making ourselves wrong and stop being in the guilt and shame, we can see a lot more and we create the space to allow the healing.”

Katie Sutherland is an energy medicine healer, teacher and holistic wellness practitioner who supports mothers to thrive and reclaim their empowerment and vibrancy while navigating the journey of motherhood and childbirth.
Katie has dedicated the past two decades to collecting and cultivating a wide range of tools and wisdom to support others on the path home to their inherent wholeness, wellbeing, and freedom.
Her travels around the world along with her studies in the wisdom traditions and healing arts have kindled in Katie a deep passion for offering rituals, circles and mentorship support to honor rites of passage in women’s lives.
Katie’s diverse background includes 1000+ hours of training in various bodywork and energy work modalities, Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™, Holistic Pelvic Care™, trauma resolution, advanced craniosacral therapy, seven years as a yoga teacher, as well as being a certified Integrative Health Coach.
Katie had a powerful initiatory experience through the birth of her beloved daughter, which ultimately held a key in the awakening of her greater purpose. Through the experience, it became crystal clear how important it is to tend to the birthing container as a sacred and intentional space.
She realized through the painful sequence of events that unfolded when these elements were not present at her daughter's birth, that these subtle yet important aspects may impact whether a mother or her child will incur trauma.
The experience and her subsequent journey of healing and integration, lit a fire in Katie to be a champion for a paradigm shift around the reclamation of the sacredness of birthing. This was a catalyst for much of the transformational work Katie now shares in empowering and supporting other mothers.
She works with women one on one, in groups via her online course “Reclaim Your Birth”, and throughout the year in live circle journeys.

“As I got deeper into my own practice of taking care of myself, how I went about doing that and really feeling myself on multiple levels~ going from a massive people please, codependency, mindset work, all the beliefs coming up for me related to motherhood~ I dove deeper into those practices and recognized such a need to show and teach other mothers how to care for themselves.”
“When I learned to put myself first ~ that is when my life really shifted.”
“I had choices and control over how I wanted to move forward.”
“What is it that I need? Not what do my children or my spouse need, but what do I need to thrive in life?”
“This generation we are in is really willing to pull back the curtain a little bit more…to learn from each other that we can really create our experience and choices we are making and enjoy the motherhood journey that is a part of who we are, but not all of who we are.”

Are you slowing down to come home to yourself?
Are you truly present in the moments of motherhood?
Are you moving so fast through your day to “run away” from feelings that arise within?
All of these are questions to ask yourself as you walk through the greatest classroom of life ~ MOTHERHOOD.
For in the moments of slowing down and allowing space for feelings to arise, your true healing begins.
All quotes referenced within today’s podcast were from Natalie of The Class:
“you don’t have to do much to fully inhabit your body/this life”
“doing what you’re doing when you’re doing it is the only way to do it freely…motherhood”
“if you were doing what you’re doing when you’re doing it, what kind of mother would you be?”
Angie also referenced how she began her journey with becoming more present through Rachel Stafford’s blog and books, The Hands Free Mama, many years ago.

It doesn’t happen often.
But, what if we, as women and mothers, came home to our own inner knowing and operated from that place of love and peace?
How freeing would it feel to mother intuitively?
How freeing would it be to live intuitively as a woman?
How beautiful would it be if our daughters witnessed this way of living and embrace following their intuition?

In today's episode, Angie welcomes her first guest speaker, Ashley Shontéa Middleton. After watching a recent Facebook post where Ashley shared her voice to amplify the message of Black Lives Matter and the ongoing experiences within racism, Angie was drawn to Ashley's heart, soul and passion and was divinely led to invite Ashley onto Nurturing Your Nest. Throughout the episode, the two women share a real conversation around racism, Ashley's experiences as a Black child and woman in her hometown of Buffalo, NY, exploring our subconscious stories, her personal struggle in identity and finding a space that is unique to her while. While there are great differences in life experiences, a resounding theme in this conversation lies in how much we are alike than we are different and a passage both women were given by woman figures in their lives to guide their daily actions. Ashley also shares her thoughts for mother's as we move forward in the conversations surrounding race, anti-racism, and privilege in our country and beyond. She leaves us with the beautiful reminder she was taught by her mother, "Treat others how you would want to be treated" and together we find hope in our future generations. Listen in to be inspired and remember, "Keep your eyes, your ears and your hearts fully open" (Ashley's motto!)!
