Good morning Sapulpa! It’s another Monday with Miklos here on the daily Chieftain podcast!

The Sapulpa girls basketball team beat mustang 66-57 clinching a spot in the state tournament.

Last week girls soccer won with an impressive score of 9-0 Sara leading in goals with 6, Khaige 2nd with with 2, and Stormie trailing with 1 goal.

As for the boys soccer team we lost in a slow paced game 0-1 against Putnam City.

Today the school will be hosting parent teacher conferences, and it is also the NHS deadline.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is Hat Day which will start off the first day of mad week! You can purchase one dollar tickets to wear them throughout the school day!

Weather isn’t looking all too well today, we will be having a high of 71 but a 90% chance of rain! The low will also be dropping to 39!

The SHS girls soundly defeated the Bixby Spartans by a quite convincing score of 64-37.

Boys lost in a see-saw battle to Yukon 60-55

Coach Shubert has announced that our home openers for Soccer are next Tuesday. We are going to have $1 admission for all students with their student ID and then there will be free hot dogs between the girls and boys game provided by the Boys Soccer Booster Club.

Don’t forget that this Wednesday will be the day Freaky Friday the musical gets showcased.

Chieftain basketball was in action on Tuesday night against Broken Arrow. The girls’ team won with a quite convincing score of 79 to 55, trust me, not a close game.

The boy’s team engaged Broken Arrow and in a back and forth battle, Sapulpa ended up with a solid win of 63 to 52.

It’s going to be a bit cloudy with a high of 42 and a low tonight of 32, but the weekend is looking warm and sunny, but it is Oklahoma…

Sapulpa Basketball recently went to the Shawnee Invitational, a tournament hosting multiple schools and the boys won against Southeast with a score of 68-61 as the girls went on a hot streak beating Duncan 60-42, McAlester 65-40, but losing to Ardmore in a close match scores being 50-53.

There is also a Meat Sale from Sapulpa’s FFA lasting until February 5th. Selling goods such as DJ’s Pigs ‘N’ Blanket and Blue & Gold Sausage including many more.

The Sapulpa Pings will be bringing Chick Fil-A to the Jr. High and HS this Friday during lunch, There are forms in both Jr. High and HS lounges. All you need to do is circle Nuggets or Sandwich and Leave the form and $6 in Stacey Berry’s box in the Jr. High

There is also going to be Tech tours this week, tune in to tomorrow’s podcast for more information.

Tomorrow’s weather is going to be foggy but at least we are in nice temperatures with a high of 60 degrees and a low of 34 with a chance of rain.

It was a great weekend for our JH wrestling and girls basketball teams!!

The JH wrestling team won the Glenpool Dual Tournament, going 8-0 on the weekend beating Glenpool, Sand Springs, Owasso, Catoosa, Cascia Hall, Claremore, Oologah, and Jenks. Congrats to Bryson Williams, Ethan Peterson, and Cooper Thomas who didn’t lose a single match through the tournament! The JH wrestling team remains undefeated on the season!! Great job, Coach Fuller and Coach Carter!!

The Lady Chieftain basketball team went 3-0 in the Skiatook tournament beating Tulsa Webster, Pryor, and Mustang to bring home the tournament championship! Temira Poindexter was named tournament MVP, Ray Osborn was selected to the all tournament team, and Coach Calip was selected as the girls coach of the tournament!! Great job, ladies!!!This Tuesday, the Chieftains will be taking on Jenks in hoops action at the Chieftain Center. It will be military appreciation night and all military personnel will be admitted free to the game (with ID). The theme is, "USA", some come decked out in your most patriotic attire! Please feel free to share the attached flyer to spread the word. Also, our awesome ROTC program will be performing at halftime of the girls game, which you don't want to miss!

Coach Blevins and the wrestling team will be traveling to Sand Springs at the end of the week to compete in their tournament. Good luck, all!!

This is going to be an annual performance of George Frederick Handel’s Messiah at First United Methodist Church. It will be starting at 7:30 PM December 17, and the address is 1401 East Taft. This is an over 50-hear tradition at SHS and will involve the Blue Blazed Marvels Advanced Mixed Choir and soloists, as well as Choir alumni from as far back as 1968 and earlier.

There is also a home wrestling event against Cleveland tomorrow night. Jr. high matches will begin at 6 PM and all junior high - high school students can get in for $1 with their ID!

Also congrats to the ping for doing an amazing job, but why listen to me when we have a word from one of the ping members themselves. )

The Chieftain FanWear will be ending today

The Late registration for ACT is ending today with higher price fees.
ACT offers a better chance for a scholarship while also being required for entrance. If you can’t afford it for $52 then you have a chance to get a waiver if you get discounted lunch. It’s recommended to take as many as you can seeing that colleges will look at your highest score.

Fall sports are coming to an end but winter sports are just around the corner.

During the weekend we had a strong outcome for cross country with our girls team placing 5th and Stailee Heard place 3rd individually. Evan and Mason Quinton set new personal records as well.

Also a good job to chieftain football for defeating the Highway 97 Rival, Sandsprings, 31-19! Quick reminder that the 8th and 9th grade game that got cancelled is rescheduled for tomorrow.

Lastly there’s a Jv football game at SandSprings at 6pm.

There is food drive going on if you have any food items make sure to drop them by your 3rd hour teacher.

The band placed 1st place in the competition on Saturday placing 1st in everything but guard great job everyone.Halloween is on Thursday makes sure to get into the Halloween but don't wear any mask or face paint.Congrats to Coach Debbie Williams and staff as the girls' cross country team is headed to state!! The ladies placed 3rd this past weekend at the regional meet held at Sand Springs. Stailee Heard placed 3rd overall and Sydney Krehbiel placed 8th overall. The boys' team season ends as they fell just short placing 9th overall and the top 7 teams advance. HOWEVER, Mason and Evan Quinton placed as individuals (7th and 8th, respectively) and will be competing at state, too! The state race is this Saturday, November 2, in Edmond. The girls run at 10am and the boys run at 10:45am. Good luck!!

The PSAT is on Wednesday the 30th for sophomores and juniors. The cost is $20 see the counselors for more information

Tomorrow there is a pep rally at 6 am. Students must be at the chieftain center at 5:45 AM, there will be juice and donuts provided. If you do show up, you get an extra 15 minutes for lunch.

Performance theater is performing a play tonight at 7:00 admission is free and has a run time of 45 minutes in short play called “Beyond Tolerance.”

The bus permission slips are ready to go if you are wanting to head out to the next away game make sure to stop by the main office with $5 by the way if you ride the bus you get water chips and a Chick-fi- a sandwich, I call that a steal!

Sapulpa FFA was at the Tulsa state fair for the whole week and won several awards there in educational board they placed 4th overall in non mechanical, and 8th place overall in ag mechanics with individual projects like outdoor furniture and truck accessories.

Our varsity football team is headed to Muskogee on Friday Students wishing to go to the game can ride on an activity bus. Pick up a permission form in the main office to reserve your place on the bus. Completed forms and the $5 fee will be due by the end of the school day on Wednesday, October 9th. This $5 will cover the cost of the bus, along with a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, a bag of chips, and a bottle of water.

This week is homecoming week, and today’s dress up theme is “Blue Out”

Last night was the kick off of the Homecoming events, starting with the Homecoming Parade, and ending the night with the community pep rally

Today is the homecoming assembly in the auditorium at 12:30pm

Tonight is the homecoming game against the Bartlesville bruins beginning at 7pm,
and with the pregame festivities beginning at 6:15, and don’t forget tonight we will see the
crowning of the 2019 Homecoming Queen.
