They discuss the importance of living for something greater than material wealth, the dangers of pursuing success without a true sense of purpose, and the transformative power of community among men. The dialogue emphasizes that true purpose is rooted in the heart and is a way of living rather than a mere title or job. • Purpose is a way of living, not an outcome.

  • Use what you have to fulfill your purpose.

  • Don't be afraid of the dreams God has given you.

Eating around the holidays is always tough, especially when we don't want to leave the holidays with 10 more pounds on our frame. In this episode, Clara Collie and I navigate how we should approach holiday eating, whether or not there is "good" or "bad" foods, and how we can eat out with friends and stay healthy.

We discuss: It's the Christmas season. How do we survive without totally derailing healthy eating?
What are the WORST holiday food choices people should avoid?
What are your go-to still festive, but not totally unhealthy foods?
What about going out to eat? How should we handle nights out eating/drinking?
Should we label foods "good" or "bad"?
Holiday alcohol? Yay or nay?
What does the Bible say about healthy eating?

Clara's BIO: Clara is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, Christ follower, self-proclaimed has-been cheerleader, and founder of Redemptive Health living in Asheville NC with her husband and son. She believes that our health, and our bodies, are both gifts from the Lord to steward AND enjoy. She is on mission to use her personal story and professional expertise to help women detach their worth from their wellness, ditch the extreme diets, and learn how to fuel and move their bodies to feel strong, energized, and fit.

This mind-blowing episode of the Podcast exposes Big Pharma's stronghold on SSRI's and how they've gamed them into the mental health space as a solution... When, in fact, they may not actually work the way we think.

If you are ready to have your mind blown (pun intended) then watch Dr. McFillin get into the controversy surrounding how SSRI's infiltrated the mental health space and how Therapy Culture is likely not the solution either.

Let's say they've decided they want to take charge of their health? What are some baby steps? Matt Responds. Matt's Plate Guide method for choosing the right foods AND MORE....

Loneliness, anxiety, and depression are hitting men at unprecedented levels. While women have suffered in many ways societally, one of the ways men suffer more greatly has been the suppression of emotion... other than anger of course.

Sadness, loneliness and fear are taboo emotions for men and they've been discouraged from expressing them. The result is silent suffering.

Why did this happen? What can the church do to help solve this issue? and how can we take responsibility for our own growth?

We often think of Sloth or laziness as, kind of funny... and it sort of is... And we all have that lazy friend or family member or maybe you are the lazy one in your family.

If you study the Bible long enough, you realize the plethora of diversity the Bible has in it. When most of us think about the Bible, we think of serious language or loving language. And of course, the scriptures has all of the above.

But as you study long enough, you realize how cutting, sarcastic and even mocking the scriptures can be.

And as we study Sloth, we find the bible has literally nothing positive to say about it. In fact, God often mocks those who are slothful and physically lazy.

Why does he do this?

Sloth and Laziness absolutely stand in the way of us being who God is calling us to be.

In this episode, I'm talking about Genesis 3 and the origin of messed-up homes. We'll talk about why husbands and wives have such a hard time deciding who does what at home. This means we are talking biblical submission.... but also, biblical sacrifice, rooted in Ephesians 5. The Trad Wife trend is blowing up on TikTok. Why do so many women want to be stay-at-home moms? AND why are many men defaulting to being stay-at-home dad's instead?__________Ex Nihilo means "from nothing". It comes from Genesis 1, where the Bible says God made man “from nothing” or “out of nothing”. Back then, God made humanity good, right and perfect. There were no illnesses, sicknesses or chronic diseases. Humanity lived completely in sync with God and his created order. After sin entered the world, humanity’s relationship with God was fractured as was the relationship between humanity and creation. The reason we get sick, experience pain or die is because of what happened in the Garden when Eve bit the apple and sin entered the world. Luckily Jesus came into the world to restore the relationship between God, humanity and creation, and one day, we will no longer experience any of the affects of sin. But until that day, we have a responsibility to steward what God has given us. This includes our minds, bodies and spirits. Ex Nihilo Health is about reclaiming some of what we lost in the Garden with diet, exercise and physical health. While we won’t fully get what we lost until Jesus comes back, we can inch closer towards the ideal of feeling good, performing well and living longer by carefully stewarding our bodies.

It's time. Ex Nihilo is going full-time with a Podcast.

In this episode i'm talking about the desperate need for believers to focus on health and fitness and what may be stopping us.

Plus, we talk about the recent sneaky Aspartame publicity stunt

The need to discuss all things health, family, fitness, diet, and identity is too strong not to start this podcast.

Stay tuned: Tuesdays and Fridays

In this episode Eddie and his guest, Sinan Ozyemisci get into the nitty gritty of each fad diet, why people are hating on Adele’s weight loss, plus why you need a coach to help you perform at your best.

We get into:

-Keto Diet, OMAD, intermittent fasting, IIFYM and Vegan diets

-The food differences in America vs Turkey and other countries

-Eating food in season

-Why having accountability is amazing

-How to eat well and perform your best

-And more…

Sinan’s Bio:

My name is Sinan Ozyemisci and I can honestly say I have been obsessed with getting my hands on fresh ingredients and new recipes since the day I learned to walk. Growing up in Coastal Turkey, as a kid, I had a slightly different outlook on food than my colleagues. There were no fast food chains, no delivery services, and no chain restaurant commercials. Instead, it was a game of whether I could get up early enough in the morning to get the day's grocery shopping done with my grandmother. It was a daily game of running the fresh bread from the bakery back to the car fast enough that the seagulls wouldn't attack me. It was a daily puzzle of deciding what local jams to try for breakfast that week or which tomatoes to pick for the food we had planned. But regardless of those daily decisions, two things were always certain; figs (when in season) and daily caught, fresh fish from the fishermen on the waterfront. So, to sum it up, grocery shopping for me began with running (the bread back to the car) and ended with running (the fish back to the car before the cats got to the bag in my hand).

Fast forward to today, I think those exact days are the main reason why you will always see the quote ‘Smile More, Worry Less, Live Your Passion’ in my signature on my emails. Professionally, coaching nutrition and changing lives, as a part of the amazing StrongerU Nutrition team, for the small return of a smile IS and ALWAYS WILL BE my passion. I believe that a smile goes far beyond just in-between the ears and rather strongly impacts how clients function, think, behave, and impact those around them. My goal is to make others just as passionate about what they buy, what they eat, and what they put in their body, as I am about it. Educationally, I hold my first Masters in Applied Clinical Nutrition from New York Chiropractic College and am currently enrolled at Penn State University to become a Registered Dietitian in 2021, with the hope to expand my nutritional impact across-the-world for a healthier tomorrow.

You can get strong, lose fat and feel amazing with something called minimalist training. Minimalist training is the idea of doing the least amount possible for the greatest amount of results. He also tells us what common mistakes rookies are making in the gym and what sorts of foods to eat while living the minimalist lifestyle.

This is perhaps the most important episode of the show we've done. Ex nihilo means "from nothing". This site is all about recovering some of what we lost in the Garden of Eden. This includes our bodies, our diets, or prayer/meditation life, but it also includes how we treat one another. We call that "community". How do we relate with one another? That's a big question we need to answer

We know that racial tension is high today in the US, and our guest gives us some very hardcore truths about the realities of the solution to these problems. They are very real truths that are hard to hear, but important for us to reconcile with one another.

Why Listen?

This show is packed with tips on baking smart without adding the extra carbs and sugar into your body. Our Guest Katie Coleman battled with Type 1 Diabetes for more than twenty years, and after some experimenting, she's developed some awesome baking hacks that aren't only healthy for you, but they taste amazing as well. She's leveraged that knowledge into starting a company called the Keep it Real Food co. You'll hear how she did all of that and you'll learn about some of the dangers of Diabetes and why it must be stopped with healthy choices.

Katie's Bio

Katie Coleman is the owner of Keep It Real Food Company, co-host of the podcast Diabetes Unscripted, a self-proclaimed nutrition nerd, and person with type 1 diabetes for over 20 years. She was diagnosed at age 11 and followed the standard approach for diabetes care for many years. At age 26, she formed the company “Grain Expectations” – a blog and bakery focusing on whole grain baked goods. However, she quickly realized that, despite being so-called “healthy”, these whole grain foods were not actually diabetes-friendly. In 2010, she changed the name and focus of the business to Keep It Real Food Co, with the goal of creating grain-free, low-glycemic snacks and treats using ONLY naturally healthy ingredients that everyone can enjoy.

After learning about the gluten-free and paleo diets through her customers, she continued on her own dietary journey, adopting a low-carb paleo diet and immersing herself in the latest functional medicine research. When she’s not working on her business, listening to her favorite health podcast, or reading about nutrition, she loves hiking and playing music around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Andy is a former baseball, a current model and actor who almost dies after getting hit by two SUV's at the same time. That left his face and body destroyed. To save his health and career he dug into his passion of healthy living to restore his face. It was out of that experience that Alitura Naturals was born.

If you want to understand skin health, face health and the Bulletproof diet, this podcast is for you. Andy dissects his Alitura clay mask and how it has taken him from exposed bone and scars after the accident to Oakley and Calvin Klein model.

Andy Bio:

Model, actor and former professional athlete, Andy Hnilo was in a severe accident that left him in a hospital bed in the Cedar Sinai ICU with a shattered jaw and 7 broken ribs. Instead of using products recommended to him by his surgeons he created his own. Out of that he created Alitura Naturals, his clay mask company.
