We are Mikey and Randie Chapman, and your hosts of the Black Millennial Marriage Podcast. This podcast was created as a way to stay connected to one another. It was also formed so that we could have representation, meet other couples, and provide a space to talk about our 10+ years of relationship experience, including our years of marriage, and all we’re learning, unlearning, and loving about marriage.

Hey y’all!
It’s the end of. . . . the SEASON! So, here’s a longer episode to reflect on this long ass year.
Tune in as Mikey and Randie reveal the 3 biggest things that affected them and stood out to them this year, and their favorite episodes and collabs. Later, they have a relationship check-in rating sex, money, communication, and parenting. During the check-in they both express hardships, disconnection, the fun, and still as always . . . love.
Then, before the fight or flight they gift superlatives, an annual tradition for the most supportive and engaged Patrons. Superlatives range from “Most likely to burn shit up” to “Most likely to wear white people down.”
Mikey ends the episode with a fight about Randie’s sleep talking, but of course it’s all love as they show each other some PDA.
It has been a long ass $&(@)@_! year, but they and you made it. Praise GOD. As always, your hosts appreciate you for listening and rocking with them for all of these years. They wouldn’t be here without your support and they want you to know they’re grateful.
They’ll see you in 2025!

Hey y’all,
The temptation to roll over and die is . . . well, tempting. But in this Indie Randie details the 4 things keeping her afloat, helping her resist despair, and inspiring her to imagine a better future. Because if Bisan from Gaza can show up, then so will she.
Tune in as the shorter half of the BMM podcast shares her feelings on the world around her, the fear she and everyone else is feeling, and the raging determination she has to survive as those who came before her did.
In the EP, Randie talks green juices, the Dodo Bird’s Youtube channel, her favorite go to app for self-care, and her new found fascination for Solarpunk art, activism, and literature.
She hopes you’re being extra extra extra extra compassionate towards yourselves. And hopes you’re also taking care of your mental, physical, and all the things in between. Why? Because she wants you to survive too.

In hindsight, there are many things the Chapmans are glad they didn’t know before they got married. And they bet you would agree. Tune in as one of your favorite couples discuss what was worth finding out . . . all after the fact.
For Mikey, it’s how deep fatherhood really is. He realizes he was thinking too small when his original goal was to be better than his dad. For Randie, it’s learning that none of their plans mattered. Life lifes, whether you’re good or not.
And more.
It’s a fun convo with a semi-heated fight or flight that’s about . . . you guessed it. Electricity. God, they’re old.
But it’s all love, as always, when the Chapmans show each other some gratitude during their PDA.
As always, Randie and Mikey thank you for listening and they hope you enjoy.

Together the two talk letting people play in their faces, Dontea’s work as a self-worth therapist, the reasons why we as people tend to attach ourselves to unfulfilling relationships and friendships, and then some.

Tune in as Randie sits down with Kathy, host of the Lichen Sclerosus Podcast.
Kathy was diagnosed with LS 5 years ago at 40 and the life-changing diagnosis paved the way for her podcast and organization on a mission to educate women about the auto immune disease that commonly affects the genitals.
In this episode, Kathy details the symptoms she experienced before diagnosis, the sub-par medical care she initially received, and how living with this diagnosis affects her body, marriage, and children.
It’s a wonderful, informative conversation that highlights how powerful women are (In Randie’s humble opinion).

Hey y’all!
Tune in as Mikey and Randie talk about money . . . again.
And the backstory involves Youtube Premium and wondering who gon’ pay the bill LOL.
Together, the Chapmans reveal what’s been going on with work and money, and all the POSITIVE things they’re doing instead of—or in conjunction with— the “bad” habits.
The “good” habits range from speaking up and refusing to isolate from friends, re-parenting themselves, and not OD’ing on chocolate. There’s more but you gotta press play.
Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight wishing Randie would love him in a more goofier way…? But it’s all love as y’all know, when in the end they show each other some PDA.
As always, your hosts appreciate you for listening and rocking with them for all of these years. They wouldn’t be here without your support and they want you to know they’re grateful.

Hey, (in our best Mikey voice), he’s back.
In his first Indie episode of the season, Mikey reflects on three versions of himself.
Inspired by the beef between Kendrick, Drake, and Cole (until he opted out), the taller half of the BMM podcast gives a music lesson and explains why he believes that in life, he chose Jermaine’s route.
Tune in as Mikey nerds out (again lol ) about all things music and personal growth.
You'll love this one.

.
.
The Chapmans are BACK for Season 2! The theme? Plot twists. For their first episode back Mikey and Randie talk about sex.
But wait! There’s no tears, no disgruntlement, or deep conversations, only laughs and a little shade. Together, they ask each other questions ranging from, “What’s your most embarrassing moment in bed,” “Has my rank changed?”, “What do you wish we did more of?” and that’s just the beginning.
Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight questioning Randie’s hate of his favorite show, “How I Met Your Mother.” It gets heated, but as always it’s all love when the Chapmans end the episode with public displays of affection.
Recorded right before the Coronavirus stopped the world in its tracks, the couple hopes you can take a load off and smile it out with this episode.

Hey y'all! Mikey and Randie are doing something new and will be dropping flashback/memory lane episodes on Fridays.
First up, an episode from 2020 when they were celebrating 4 years of marriage. This was a fan favorite back then and they hope you still enjoy it! Especially because the couple just celebrated EIGHT years married! Wow. So many things have stayed the same. haha. Happy Listening.
.
.
.
The Chapmans have been married for FOUR years, and in this episode they reflect on only the good parts. Together the couple share what they’re grateful for and detail their favorite moments of year four.
Later, Mikey shares that he’s learned Randie is still deep and capable of great change and transformation, while Randie reveals she’s discovered that perhaps her husband is plagued by patriarchy too. Finally, there are two fights. The first is about Randie’s “man-hating bag,” and the other about Mikey’s inability to realize who he has married.
But, in the end it’s all love when they show each other some PDA. It hasn’t been the average four years, so tune in and hear all about it.

Hey y'all!
Mikey and Randie are sick right now, but would never leave you hanging.
So tune in for a raw and unedited version of "Plastic Off the Sofa". These kinds of episodes don't have any music or any edits, and they are a favorite of those on Patreon because listeners get a BTS look into what crafting an episode is like.
This episode in particular was a very popular episode last year, downloaded over 4k times and so they wanted to share the original and uncut version with y'all.
They'll see y'all next week when they get their voices back.
About this episode:
Mikey and Randie haven’t had a relationship check-in in a long long time, until today that is. For the inaugural episode of Season 5, tune in as the couple rate sex, family, communication, self, and money on a scale of 1-5. The convo is all things juicy, funny, and enlightening, and they hope to inspire you to check in with you and yours as well.
Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight asking Randie to be more considerate than she is. But it’s all love though, when in the end they shower each other with PDA and thank the other for being the bomb ass spouses they are.

Hey y’all!
With just a few more episodes left for this season, Mikey and Randie are back with an update. In this episode, they detail what’s been going on with them. They shed light on weight loss and gain, new projects, layoffs, and more.
But what they also really want is for you to tell them what YOU have been up to. It’s getting closer and closer to the end of the year and they need your reviews, feedback, emails, and all that jazz.
Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight about Randie’s “ways,” and after fighting, the Mrs. decides to fly.
But it’s all love, when in the end they show each other some PDA.
As always, the Chapmans appreciate you for listening and rocking with them for all of these years. They wouldn’t be here without your support and they want you to know they’re grateful.

Hey y'all, Hey!
It's a good day for a throwback.
And in this episode the Chapmans highlight BMM EP 059: Why Do Millennials Fall in Love? Do you remember that episode? It was a lot of fun and Mikey and Randie wanted to share the unedited version of that episode with you.
In this episode, Randie reads a listener’s love story that started at Sonics, involves a little head, and ends in a lasting marriage. Later, Mikey and Randie answer a listener’s question that reveals why they got married and also why they believe millennials are shying away from the commitment. Before the episode’s end, the Chapmans hypothetically renegotiate terms of their relationship and engage in a fight or flight that gets deeper than expected. However, as always Mikey and Randie reel it in with some always appreciated PDA and they hope you enjoy.
Are you excited to add this millennial couple to your list of relationship favorites?
Pressing play and rating 5-stars on iTunes and wherever else you listen is the first step.
NOTE: The unedited versions of the episodes are episodes without any editing. It is raw audio from the recording session before the public gets the cleaned up version. Normally, the couple only share these versions of the podcast with their Patreon, but a rabbit hole gave the Mrs. the idea to share this particular episode.
Let Mikey and Randie know if you like these kind of episodes and walks down memory lane. We hope you enjoy!

Hey y’all!
Tune in for the Chapman’s first mini episode this season. As a reminder, Minis are all about their experiences as parents and in this episode Mikey and Randie reveal what parenting Drew has made them realize about their childhoods.
The list ranges from being hit a lot to, in some cases, wishing they had the parents they wanted.
It’s a fun episode in that Randie and Mikey really enjoyed recording it and chatting about this wild ride called parenthood.
Later, the couple end the episode with some PDA to Drew and to each other in their roles as parents.
And just so you know, you don’t have to be a parent to relate to this episode. In fact reach out to the Chapmans if you’re a parent, aunt, uncle, guardian, friend of a friend who’s a parent and tell them what the children around you make you remember about your childhood.
The answers may surprise you.
As always, the Chapmans appreciate you for listening and rocking with them for all of these years. They wouldn’t be here without your support and they want you to know they’re grateful.

Hey y’all!
Was a pastor featured on the BMM podcast on your Bingo card for 2023? It certainly wasn’t on Mikey and Randie’s, but seeing as this season’s theme is “Lemonade” the Chapmans are committed to acknowledging the nourishment all around them. Enter Kristian A. Smith, a man who wears many hats, and is also the host of the Holy Smokes Spirituality and Cigars podcast.
In this episode, the couple interview Kristian and discuss the first time they all broke an unspoken spoken rule, his ministry, how he and his wife, Pamela, are deconstructing marriage, how his relationship changed his faith and more. Kristian even shares a hack to how you can ensure the church you’re visiting (if you still visit churches) believes in inclusive and humane theology.
Later, Randie and Mikey chat with Kristian about how cigars bring people closer and after the interview the Chapmans shower each other in some PDA.
This episode will surprise you in the best way, and your hosts hope you enjoy.

Hey, (in our best Mikey voice), he’s back.

Hey y’all!
In this episode Mikey and Randie interview Dr. Jeannelle Perkins-Muhammad on her latest book Into-Me-See: Mastering Black Intimacy for the Relationship You’ve Always Wanted and there’s so much to say.
Before beginning the interview, The Chapmans and Dr. Jeannelle share their first memories of feeling safe. Later, the duo learn that finding out she was married to a narcissist inspired Dr. Jeannelle to write this book and more.
Together, they discuss the infamous emotions chart that everybody in the world needs to print and hang up in their house, activities couples can do to draw them closer and ensure their needs are being met, HBNS (Hot Butt-Naked Sex), and how the brain remembers trauma even when you’re no longer in danger.
To end, the couple show each other some love in their PDA segment because you know that’s how they do.
In all, nothing but playing the episode can do justice to the gems Dr. Jeannelle shared in her book and on the show.
So tune in and grab the book. Randie finished it in one day!

PHEW!! It’s been a wild, wonderous, and unexpected year. When the ball drops on New Year’s Day don’t forget to shout, “Jumanji!” but before that, listen to the Chapman’s last episode of 2020. For this season finale, Mikey and Randie share the episodes that grew them up and surprised them and later they play and read feedback from . . . you. But in the end it’s all love when the couple show each other some PDA.

This episode is dedicated to Randie’s late grandmother Pat (1949-2012)
Dear God, thank you. But also, how much longer? And by the way, please come get your people. These are just a few thoughts that Randie and her guest, Brandi Miller have. In this indie episode, the shorter half of the podcast interviews the host of “Reclaiming My Theology,” a podcast about taking our theology back from systems and ideas that oppress. Together, the two detail what shaped their idea of God. Next, they discuss Christianity and it’s relationship to white supremacy. Finally, they discuss how to love justice, but also how to practice compassion with a refusal to dehumanize.
Randie hopes anyone of any faith can take something from this conversation, especially in these trying times. And, as always she hopes you enjoy.

Later, for the Mr.’s fight or flight, Mikey questions Randie about asking questions she already knows the answers to. However, in the end, it’s always love when they show each other some PDA.

Have you been having simple conversations with your partner? Where neither one of you are assuming the worst or avoiding conflict? Mikey and Randie haven’t. That’s why in this episode the couple discuss ways they are shrinking themselves and the potential harm they have caused in their relationship. Randie shares her definition of shrinking herself, Mikey expresses similar feelings, and the couple share a transformative moment when they reveal the ways and reasons they shrink who they are.
Things get eye-opening, apologetic, and true to Chapman fashion the couple derail the convo and Drew makes a cameo. The result? An hour of your favorite couple shooting the shit. Later, the Mr. brings a fight or flight that he uses to try to leverage sexual favors from the Mrs. But, in the end it’s always love when they show each other some PDA and share a special shout out from a listener to their loved one abroad.

NOTHING is the same, well not really, and that includes Mikey and Randie. That’s why in this episode the couple ask each other rapid fire questions paired with three questions each to reintroduce themselves to the other. Randie wonders why it’s important for Mikey to grow his hair back and if he still has a fear of abandonment, while Mikey wonders what’s Randie’s favorite part of her body and if there’s anything she’s keeping from him. Things get deep, funny, and true to Chapman fashion the couple derail the convo a bit to wonder–what perks would Mikey give in bed for a $15 an hour rate? There’s more, always. Later, the Mrs. brings a fight or flight that maybe actually turns into a real argument. But, in the end it’s always love when they show each other some PDA.
Did you miss your people? They missed you. Mikey and Randie are thankful for the positive feedback from all their recent interviews, and at the same time, they’ve been excited to get back to you as the couple they are, and they hope you enjoy.

To start, the friends discuss a time they were afraid in their childhood. Then, Logan and Jeff tell their love story (spoiler: it’s hilarious). When you really think about it, you’re rich. At least, that’s what Mikey and Randie discovered while on their mid-season pod break. That’s why in this episode the couple discuss six things about their relationship that makes them feel rich and makes them want to show gratitude. From Randie holding herself accountable, to Mikey proving that he’s willing and ready to act in allyship, the couple welcome you to participate in their sap fest. Later, the Mr. brings a fight or flight that questions how vocal Randie has gotten in the bedroom. It’s always love though, when in the end they show each other some well-deserved PDA.
True to Chapman fashion, this episode is equal parts loving and hilarious and they hope you enjoy.

Writer and activist Audre Lorde said it best, caring for oneself is a form of political warfare. That’s why, in this episode Mikey and Randie are taking a break from the heartache and instead reflecting on the joys of Blackness. Why? Because while the revolution is in progress and the pandemic is still real, they needed a reminder that Black people do more than die. Black people are masters of joy and happiness. They are compassionate, strong, and magical, so together the Chapmans reveal their favorite thing about being black and detail their favorite memories as children and adults.
From college week in elementary school to attending a Bayard Rustin breakfast, the couple take a trip down memory lane for some much needed smiles. Later, Randie and Mikey discuss a time they had to choose joy and peace over fear of being harmed while Black, and then they talk about what they hope to teach Drew. Before the episode ends, the Mr. brings a fight or flight that questions his wife’s eye-health, but in the end it’s all love when the Chapmans show each other some PDA.

PWHEW. Talk about a time for tough and revolutionary conversations! They are happening everywhere, including on BMM’s podcast. To begin, in this episode, Randie and Mikey sit down with Andrea and Jason–the couple that brought everyone the Cheat Code podcast and the story of an affair between one woman and one man. Together they all discuss the Chapman’s criticism of their show and reveal their first encounters with infidelity. Later, the four hosts engage in a question and answer segment with each other and the results are as moving as they are hilarious. What started off as fuckery may just end up as reconciliation, and that’s the point right? Finally, Randie and Mikey show each other some PDA and as always, they hope you enjoy.

Oh the irony! This episode was supposed to be the first one of season 2, but Mikey and Randie changed their plans. Now, the couple share this episode because of another plot twist and a surprise that’s not quite ready yet–but it’s all good. Recorded back in February, when they were on break, Randie and Mikey talk about some of the things they have to radically accept. From the come up not being as linear as they hoped, to understanding that they have to live with their choices and more, the Chapmans get deep, vulnerable, and silly per usual. Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight that ends up making him look cray cray, but it’s all love when the couple show each other some PDA.
While this episode is an oldie for them, they hope you find some gems and that you enjoy.

RE-UPLOADED In this episode the Chapmans share how the season 2 launch of the podcast triggered bigger concerns. Together Mikey and Randie discuss how not seeing one another on the social media feed gave truth to a bigger problem. That problem? They have not prioritized, invested time, or attempted to memorialize their relationship, on or offline, in a while.
In the past year, they only wanted to survive, and the two discuss how that mentality impacted the small things that have snowballed into big things. Now, they seek to adjust, recover, and repair.
Later, Mikey brings a fight or flight that questions how Randie parents, but in the end it’s all love when they show each other some PDA.

Randie was not going to share this episode with the public, but her intentions for herself called for real life bravery. For her first Indie back, the shorter half of the Black Millennial Marriage podcast talks about needing Mikey. But, doesn’t everyone? Yes. No?
Randie details how she has shrunk her needs as a wife for fear of conflict, and then she discusses why this cannot continue. Feeling a bit ashamed, embarrassed, exposed, and silly, Randie’s uncomfortable. But, a little discomfort never killed anyone. Right?
Later the Mrs. reveals one thing she has tried and will never do again, and finally she answers an age-old question: are boneless wings really wings?

What a time to be alive, right? In this episode Mikey and Randie discuss the ways the Coronavirus pandemic has already changed their life. From realizing that they’re blessed to having to accept that they should have deleted some people from their social media a long time ago, the Chapmans also share what this time in isolation is teaching them about themselves and each other. The couple lastly reveal how sad social distancing is because this means they have to stay away from key family members–like Mikey’s mom. Later, Randie brings a fight to Mikey they’ve already had, but hey–when you’re on lockdown together sometimes you have to recycle old arguments. In the end, though, it’s all love when they show each other PDA.
It’s a tough, weird, awkward, hard, unprecedented time right now, and together Mikey and Randie thank all the health care workers who are on the front lines working to help those who are sick. They urge everyone to stay the f**k at home if they can, and to do their part to protect themselves and those around them. And as always, they hope you enjoy this episode.

IT’S THE END OF THE LONGEST SEASON EVER! Whew. Hindsight is 2020, and in this episode, the Chapmans discuss their almost two years of podcasting, how, why, and when they realized they needed an official season break and pod revamp, and finally what their plans for season two entail.
Together, Mikey and Randie reveal their fears about change ranging from a fear of missing out and a fear of losing people, but as a couple they realize the positive impact of change outweighs the possible negative. The goal is to grow, but the ultimate goal is to stay married, and that’s that on that, Sway. Later the Chapmans award a few Patreon superlatives like, “Most likely to be a good friend,” and “Most likely to leave a voicemail (again),” and finally, Randie brings a fight or flight that turns into a funny debate about noise, but it’s always love when the couple shower each other with PDA for one last time in season one.
It’s been a RUN and heck of a season, and Mikey and Randie couldn’t be more grateful for what has been and excited for what’s to come. The Chapmans hope you tune in, enjoy, and feel the same.
