The Mojo Podcast meets brave and fascinating people who share revealing personal stories of their mojo - high and low; lost and found. Stories of change and transformation from a diverse group of honest guests.
Revealing and inspiring positive mojo stories. Hosted by executive coach Richard Stokes
Standing at the national anthem, sick, sore, and not sure he deserved his spot, Tom Wickham had a choice. His partner Candace had said she might fly over with their baby son to watch him play. So he closed his eyes and made himself one promise: be the man his younger self would look up to. He scored inside the first five minutes. They won 5-0.
Tom is a dual Olympian and dual Commonwealth Games gold medallist for Australia's hockey team, the Kookaburras — but this episode isn't really about hockey. It's about the mid-career conversation that nearly finished him ("you care about everyone but yourself"), the three-word mantra he built to survive it, and why he now says the same thing to his kids, his clients, and himself. We go deep on pressure, purpose, and what it actually means to lean into your truth when everything in you wants to run.
Tom Wickham is a coach, mentor, speaker, podcast host, facilitator, and founder of Game Changer Coaching & Mentoring. Through The Game Changer Way, he explores leadership, pressure, performance, and what it means to live and express authentically.

His Golden Thread in full
The Golden Thread
The Golden Thread… this is the essence we all carry. This is the highest frequency and vibration. This is authenticity.
I feel myself reaching a new threshold here. It is pleasurable and somewhere I want to return to. I get excited to vibrate along this thread.
It feels like home, true home, away from all inputs and yet so attuned to all of them at the same time.
When I am one with the Golden Thread, I feel I am not body, I feel I lose the judgement of the physical world and of myself.
It doesn’t even feel like love, it just feels silent, yet powerful beyond explanation… it feels like creation.
It feels like what sits before a heart beat, before life, before anything in this dimension. It feels like the threshold to the expansive unknown… our gateway to the next dimension.”
Jon Mailer is the founder of PROTRADE United, Australia and New Zealand's leading business advisory and coaching organisation for the trades and construction industry. He's also the author of Not Just a Tradie — a book less about what to do and more about who to be.
But before the business success came the breakdown.
When his daughter was just six months old, Jon was running a 24-person business coaching company, carrying the full weight of provider pressure, not sleeping, refusing to ask for help, pushing harder when he should have stopped. Then one Saturday morning, standing in the shower having a shave, numbness crept down the left side of his body.
He'd contracted Guillain-Barré syndrome — a rare autoimmune disorder that progressively attacked his nervous system. Within hours he was 95% paralysed. Four weeks in hospital. Learning to walk, talk and feed himself again.
He went in as one man. He came out another.
In this episode, Jon and I explore what it really means to go through the fire — and why that journey, as brutal as it is, is often the exact path a man needs to take to discover what he's actually made of and what he's here to give.
We get into:
Jon and I have shared a men's group together for over a year. That closeness shows in this conversation. It goes deep fast.

What does it mean to truly lead from the inside out? In this episode, I sit down with Matt Hocking — founder of planet-centred design and impact agency LEAP, co-founder of GOODFEST, B Corp ambassador, and one of the most genuinely thoughtful leaders I've had the pleasure of talking to. Matt's journey began at The Eden Project, where his deep fascination with the natural world first took root, and it's shaped everything he's built since.
We get into the real stuff — burnout, what it strips away, and what it reveals. Matt talks openly about his own experience of running on empty, and how hitting that wall became one of the most clarifying moments of his life. It's a story a lot of leaders will recognise but rarely talk about.
Nature sits at the heart of Matt's philosophy — not as a nice-to-have, but as a genuine teacher. We explore how reconnecting with the natural world helps leaders slow down, recalibrate, and rediscover what actually matters. In a business culture that rewards relentless doing, Matt makes a compelling case for the power of stillness.
We also get into some territory that I think is long overdue in leadership conversations — the role of love and heart in how we lead. Matt believes the future of leadership looks less like command and control, and more like stewardship. Sharing responsibility. Creating the conditions for others to flourish. He talks about why uncomfortable conversations aren't something to avoid but something to lean into — because that's where the real growth happens.
One of my favourite moments in this conversation is when Matt talks about agency — the idea that each of us, wherever we sit in an organisation, has the power to create change. Not waiting for permission. Not looking upward for the answer. Just beginning.
As Matt puts it, the antidote to despair is action.

Ben Branson built Seedlip into the world's first non-alcoholic spirit brand. Five years after our first conversation, he's back - this time with a new venture (Sylva), recent autism and ADHD diagnoses, and a completely different understanding of himself.
We talk about what the pandemic taught him about pivoting fast, why he's now extracting flavours from wood, and how discovering he's neurodivergent has changed how he leads. Ben's honest about what it's like to finally understand why his brain works the way it does - and how that's made him a better founder, father, and human.
If you're curious about leadership, neurodiversity, or what it means to become more yourself as you get older, this one's for you

Davie Gowans built the business, hit the numbers, ticked all the boxes society said mattered, and felt emptier than ever.
In this conversation, Davie opens up about the moment he realised that "success" as the world defines it wasn't the finish line he thought it was. What followed was a journey of stripping back – the control, the expectations, the identity tied to achievement – to find something more real underneath.
We talk about what happens when you stop chasing and start listening. About the freedom that comes from letting go of who you're supposed to be. And about the quiet power of being in service to others rather than in pursuit of more.
If you've ever wondered whether there's more to the game than winning it, this one's for you.

Oli Johnson is a 3x founder, exited entrepreneur, and the creator of PrescribeLife.AI, an AI-driven health tech solution helping leadership and performance coaches to help their clients stay healthy and high performing.
With two decades of experience in technology within investment banking in London before launching and scaling multiple ventures, Oli brings his own perspective on the high-pressure world of leadership, success, and sustainable performance. Having personally dealt with the intense demands of both corporate and startup life - culminating in his own experience of burnout - he has made it his mission to solve a problem he once faced: how do you stay at the top of your game without sacrificing your health?
This led to the creation of PrescribeLife.AI, a science-backed platform that uses biomarker data, facial scanning, and DNA resilience testing to detect burnout early and deliver personalised, actionable solutions.
Now living in Ibiza, Oli balances running his latest venture with a slower, more intentional lifestyle - proof that high performance doesn’t have to come at the expense of wellbeing. Together with his co-founder, a UK consultant psychiatrist, he’s on a mission to help other founders and executives thrive, not just survive.
Topics we explore:
- Burnout and recovery Oli shares his own founder story, how burnout hit him hard, and what recovery looked like.
- The challenges of startup life and leadership we look at the emotional and mental load founders carry, and how the current startup culture can be unsustainable.
- How AI is reshaping the health tech landscape How Oli's new business is using the latest AI supported digital health technology to build resilience and predict and prevent burnout in real time.

"There is no White Knight coming to save you."
My former boss Lindsay Pattison said this to me recently, and it landed hard.
Lindsay was global CEO of Maxus, part of Mark Read's core WPP team, running a global agency network at what she calls "200 miles an hour."
At that speed, you don't have time to question whether you're going in the right direction. You just go.
Until the day she realized: this pace was making decisions for her. So she did something radical. She chose to pause. Not because she had to. Because she wanted agency over what came next.
The conversation we had about this decision is one of the most honest I've recorded. It's about:
What it really means to have agency when you're at the top (it's not what you think) * The responsibility that comes with leadership that nobody talks about
How to make massive life decisions without certainty
* What happens when you stop running and start choosing
This is exactly why I'm launching the new series Mojo Under Fire - conversations about the crucible moments that forge great leaders

My guest this week is Scott Gray is an Artist and DJ from London. He is joint founder of Ibiza's iconic Melon Bomb DJ collective and creator of the art and design brand Chapter. The Island of Ibiza (where Scott now resides) is the main influence and really kick-started his art and musical career.
We met at Scott’s home in Ibiza - where the walls are filled with his favourite art and he serves a cracking cup of coffee.
We talked about the incredible change Scott and his wife Mandy created in their lives - when whilst on holiday in Ibiza Scott has a near breakdown moment and realised he could not continue with his stressful if successful career in recruitment. Another life called them.
Fast forward a few years and Scott followed his intuition again to bring together some fellow DJs to create the now globally renowned and frankly Island favourite - House Music Collective Melon Bomb.
We talk about the life of a DJ, the joys the pressures the creative process and of course just what it’s like to move a crowd to your rhythms.
I really enjoyed getting to know Scott better through this chat and he says an abundance of wisdom and advice for anyone thinking about change and anyone finding their mojo not to be in the groove they’d like.

My guest in epsiode 5 of series 6 is Sam Dean - co-founder of theHub Ibiza A very special professional community space where I live and where I’m a long standing member. Forget what you think you know about co-working spaces, what Sam and the team have created is much more as he’ll explain
This is a refreshingly candid conversation about founder energy, being an entrepreneur and a leader of a fast scaling business - which happens to be in one of the most well-known islands in the world. Professional life and Ibiza I hear you ask - isn’t that a contradiction in terms? Absolutely not AND it also adds a special flavour to Sam’s approach to business, to how he personally gets his inspiration and vision and how he makes decisions
We cover a lot of ground, Sam shares his wisdom and the benefit of his experience - the highs and the lows - we talk about Trust in your self and team, how he moves from being the Ideas guy to Executing and creating, how he escapes from short term thinking and gains his much wider perspective. And of course how’s he’s been able to commit to this project when there are so many shiny new things to chase

Welcome back to The Mojo Podcast.
Series 6 of the Mojo Podcast is all about Commitment. A concept that has real weight and meaning for us, as we have all committed at some point in our life and perhaps you're considering a new commitment right now. It's a deeply meaningful area and I wanted to explore it further.
So for this season I'll be talking to an amazing array of guests about what commitment means to them and how it impacts their Mojo. How it feels to truly commit to yourself, to your passion & your purpose and to see the results.
Rather than sitting on the fence and no committing at all.
Because commitment really means choosing not to have any more choice.
In episode 4 I speak to LA based Comedy rebel Charlotte Fox who trained at prestigious mime and clown school in Paris. With her surreal, sassy and foxy antics, she has performed in various venues across the UK, Europe and now Los Angeles.
From sell out shows at Brighton fringe, The Bosco Spiegaltent and 5* Solo Shows at Underbelly Edinburgh Fringe and collaborated with BBC Radio 4 on award winning show The Skewer.
She was seen on BBC prime time TV, Jimmy Carr “Amazing performance!”
She has hosted The Atrium Stage @ Wilderness festival last summer.
She’s been described as: “Mighty Booshy” “Ludicrous, Surreal and Raw” “Volcanic streams of consciousness in high adrenaline comedy” …
Keep up if you can!
She also hosts international Yoga Retreats in Ibiza, Jamaica and Mexico.

In episode 3 I talk to Rebecca Welch - a genuine trailblazer in her field. Totally committed to what she is doing, inspiring the next generation of referees as well as greater inclusion in football as a whole.
Rebecca Welch became a football referee in 2010 but continued to work in her NHS post until 2019, before turning her attention to officiating on a full-time basis.
A true trailblazer, In 2021 she became the first woman to be appointed to referee an EFL match and followed that by becoming the first woman to referee a Premier League match in 2023.
During her career, Rebecca has also officiated games in the Women’s Super League and was referee at the 2017 and 2020 Women’s FA Cup Finals. In December 2020 she was added to UEFA’s elite women’s list, going on to referee at international level, including the Women’s World Cup in 2023.

In episode 2 I meet a seriously impressive young women and the personification of commitment - Adri Brownlee - mountaineer and adventure athlete.
Adri has summited 13 of the 14 x 8000m peaks and has achieved 2 x Guinness World Records including being the youngest woman ever to summit K2.
Alongside climbing these epic peaks, she has also started her own Trekking and Expedition company – AGA Adventures – alongside her legendary climbing partner Gelje Sherpa.
In 2024 she hopes to complete her 14 Peaks Project and become the youngest woman ever to climb the world’s 14 x 8000m peaks and the first British woman ever to do so.
This was a highly enjoyable conversation that tracks Adri's love for the mountains back to the tender age of 8 when she pictured herself climbing Everest. The next year she became the youngest person in the UK to complete the Three Peaks Challenge aged just 9 - and where she learned she had the mountaineers mindset.
We talk about the determination required to thrive in The Death Zone (the place above 8000 metres where human literally begin to die) and also the challenges of chasing records. Adri talks vividly about what the mountains mean to her and how she is connected to them and can hear their call.
A truly impressive woman totally committed to her passion and providing inspiration to everyone she meets.
Mojo for Adri - when nothing can stop you, which comes from persistence and consistency.

In episode 1 I speak to writer Ben Duwell, the author of Pine Tree Island, a historical novel about the early settlers of Ibiza.
We talk about Ben's writing process, how he get past the 'tyranny of the blank sheet of paper' and gets his words down. How he manage to balance ego and humility in the creative process and choses not to hold on too tightly to a specific outcome for his work.
We also talk about his brilliant TEDxDaltVila talk and how he committed to that project and managed to remember his words!
Ben also share many fabulous anecdotes about Ibiza past and present. We also recorded this overlooking the bay at Sa Caleta so you can almost hear the sunshine and feel the water.
Ben lives with his family in the hills above San Juan, and from time to time comes out to do bits of theatre too!

Welcome to a very special episode of The Mojo Podcast - a bonus episode on a subject I'm passionate about. And not one but three amazing guests - together in a studio in central London to discuss a profoundly important topic which they all have immense expertise and experience in.
We’re talking about building a fairer and more equitable workplace and specifically how men can find the mojo to better support gender equality.
This is of course a huge topic, an important topic and not one we're going to solve in a 45 minute podcast. But the intention here is to share some insight, creating a safe space to have this conversation (both here in our studio for you at your work place) and to leave you with inspiration and some ideas for action.
Joining me this week - three previous guests:
Lara Milward is part of the leadership team at Shine, a female founded business dedicated to accelerating inclusivity. She is a neuroleadership coach, a mum, a CrossFitter(50/50 men and women) and lives by the mantra “I move therefore I think”
Lara was previously a guest in Series 3 Episode 7
Daniele Fiandaca is founder of Token Man Consulting, an inclusion and diversity consultancy which specialises in engaging senior leaders and men with I&D and inspiring them to become inclusive leaders and agents of change, creating workplaces that are truly inclusive and diverse. Token Man Consulting was born from Token Man, an initiative he co-founded nearly a decade ago to engage men with the gender equity discussion andis also co-founder of Masculinity in the Workplace, one of the few I&D events that has majority male attendance.
Daniele was previously a guest way back in Series 1 Epsiode 9
Bodhi Aldridge is a Guide, Teacher, Facilitator and Best-selling Author. He guides men to develop Presence, open their hearts, and integrate their masculine and feminine energy so they can start paying attention to what matters most. Bodhi’s journey as a father, a grandfather, a lawyer, a coach and a facilitator has taken him across the world diving deep into traditional teachings and contemporary leadership development so that he could find his magnificence and bring those teachings to other men. http://www.bodhialdridge.com/
Bodhi was previously a guest twice before - in Series 2 Episode 5 and Series 5 Episode 1
Recorded at https://contentisqueen.org/studios/ in central London
I really hope you get something from this epsiode
With love

If you'd like to go deeper on this topic with a coach, you can to book a free 30 minute discovery call with me to talk about coaching - just drop me an email.
This week on The Mojo Podcast we land on a subject which is likely to effect us all at some point, to some degree. We’re talking about stress and specifically the stress that can come from working your way to the top of your game or profession and then the ongoing battle to stay there.
Our conversation centres around my old industry - advertising and media. A dynamic, fast paced & intense business which I found mostly fun & enjoyable but looking back I know I was in a stressed state for more time than is probably healthy.
You may have seen the brilliant dramatisation of 1960s era advertising set in New York with Don Draper as the charismatic chauvinistic brilliant and flawed lead character - well today we dip into the other reason Mad Men maybe gets its title.
I’m joined by Peter Magnani - Peter was my very first boss in advertising - and I have to say with all honesty - he helped guide me and mentor me for those key early years of anyones career. We then worked in different and competitive agencies - always in touch but not close enough for me to know what he was experiencing
Very candidly Peter shares his mojo story - of great success and peak moments, and of the grind and sacrifice which characterise many careers. You’ll hear that when he should have been celebrating his greatest business triumph he was actually in the midst of a profound stress-induced episode.
Peter decided to make a profound change his life and founded Beam in 2019, developed on the twin foundational pillars of “open data for good” and ‘helping people to help themselves” by empowering them to better manage everyday micro-stressors and prevent them building up into anxiety or depression.
Prior to launching Beam, Peter worked in the advertising and media industry at Interpublic and Omnicom across brands such as Apple, Google, and Vodafone. As with many others around the world he has in the past struggled with stress and three years ago decided to apply his knowledge of behavioural analytics, insight, and technology to developing a data-led, self-management tool that was accessible and affordable for individuals and businesses
Available for free currently, Beam allows every person suffering stress to intervene on their own behalf. It helps people join the dots making life less complex and more manageable by helping people discover the “stories in their data”.
You can download the BEAM app to take a look by clicking this link: https://www.beamandme.com/get-beam/

Another HUGE subject to tackle this week - and one which has a massive effect on our Mojo - we're taking about Sleep.
My guest is Tracy Hannigan is a qualified sleep therapist, one of the few recognised by the Society for Behavioural Sleep Medicine. Tracy uses only evidence-based approaches in supporting adults with insomnia as they reconnect to their natural ability to sleep and to live the active and vibrant lives they want and deserve.

This week - after a short hiatus (moving house) - The Mojo Podcast is back with a wonderful guest and a fundamental subject area: Breathing & Breathwork.
Ali Gilling is a trauma-informed breathwork, yoga and mindfulness practitioner who has been travelling extensively around the globe as a nomadic yogini for over 25 years, running retreats and workshops internationally since 1999.
Her journey began in India in 1993, discovering ashram life, studying 1-2-1 training with her teacher for 2 years.
She continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing training courses and personal development. Ali offers a heartfelt space empowering her clients to improve their physical, emotional and mental well-being, releasing blocked trauma through somatic release and the power of the breath, enabling their own healing journey and personal transformation.
She is a senior mentor with Integrative Breath Facilitator Training offering both in-person and online monthly breathwork ceremonies, women’s circles alongside coaching 1-2-1 with clients.
She has trained as a Mental Health First Aider, where she works with anxiety and stress reduction through both mindfulness and breathwork.

This week we turn our attention to the world of work and our invitation is to think about how we can collaborate even better - especially when we think about hybrid working patterns. We talk about flow, feedback, trust, empathy and radical candour - amongst other things.
My guest is John Monks. John is the co-founder of Curve where he leads the facilitation and coaching practice. He’s clocked up many years working with teams in organisations as diverse as NYPD, Coca Cola, the UN and Comic Relief. Over his career, John has shown that a combination of facilitation and coaching is the best way to help organisations solve their own problems and come up with great ideas. An ardent believer in the power of workshops to achieve the impossible, he’s trained many hundreds of people to be experts at designing and delivering workshops and collaborations.
John is Co-chair of the ActionAid UK board, a mentor on the Cambridge Judge Business School MBA and guest speaker at the WHU Otto Beisheim Business School in Dusseldorf. He speaks at events for corporates, government bodies and civil society groups, and at public events such as the WebIT summit, Digital Shoreditch and the UN-sponsored Design for Social Innovation & Leadership program.

My guest this week is Vedic Mediation teacher - Jillian Lavender. Here she is in her words...
When I learned to meditate back in 1995 I had no idea that I would end up being a full-time meditation teacher. At the time I was walking right up to the line of a major burnout. Living in Sydney, setting up a publishing company, spending my life on a plane. I felt tired and stressed.
On the recommendation of a friend I took the course and from that point things changed for me in a big way. My life was still full-on but I could handle it. I wasn’t exhausted. I felt the anxiety melt away. I was better at my job and I was nicer to be around. And I knew it was meditation that was making the difference.
Fast-forward five years and (after a stint in Paris) I was living in London and looking for a change. I quit the big CEO job and travelled for a year. Then I took up the invitation of my teacher, Thom Knoles, to train with him one-on-one in the U.S. and India. In 2003 I graduated and came back to London to start teaching.
In 2005 Michael and I met in India on a retreat and after some long-distance back and forth he moved from LA to London. We live together, teach together and have a daughter so we are partners in every sense.
India is special for us and we’re there at least once a year to teach and study. I feel grateful to be able to teach Vedic Meditation. Helping people be their best has always been the thing that motivates me. In my experience meditation is the tool that has the power to transform. I love seeing that process play out with our students.

My guest this week is Ruth Ramsay and we talk about sex. Ruth is an adult sex educator and coach. She helps people of all genders understand who they are sexually, what they most need and desire, and how to move towards that. Her clients value her ability to create an entirely judgement-free, safe space to talk about their sexual lives.
On this episode Ruth talks about how she works with her clients and why people come to her. She also speaks with great honesty and openness about her own journey to this incredible work and why her sense of purpose is so strong and, when she choose to hide what she did (for good reason as you’ll hear) the impact that had on her.
Ruths goal is to normalise our relationship with sex so we can all have more fun and less fear, to treat sex as a hobby and simply be more open with a subject which is so very natural yet so tied up in strong held beliefs which often don't serve us well.
Ruth is hugely generous with the tips and advice she shares - there is so much in here for anyone interested in learning more about their sexual lives. The show notes are full of links so go check that out below. There is also a discount code for her programmes.
Ruth holds a transformational coaching diploma, which she backs up with vast life experience of her topic. She holds an Erotic Award for campaigning for sexual rights of people with disabilities; was a striptease artist for over a decade; has taught exotic dance extensively; and been a sex journalist, activist, model, kink performer, and more. She considers herself un-shockable.
Ruth offers online workshops on topics such as ‘Understanding Your Erotic Mind’, ‘How To Feel Confident Naked’, ‘Exploring Your Fantasies’ and her super-popular ‘How To Please A Woman In Bed’. She runs her eight week online course, The Passion8 Programme, three times a year and also supports clients 1-2-1.
Her mission is to normalise conversation around sex, removing the shame and stigma, and recognising sexual energy as a healthy force for good.

The purpose of this series is to allow yourself to ask yourself a key question – “What can I build into everyday life (and perhaps add to what I’m already doing) to help build my Mojo”
My aim is to help you to develop a daily practice of self-awareness and growth.
Series 5 launches on Monday 5th September with new episodes every 2 weeks

Welcome to the summary episode for the 4th series of The Mojo Podcast - The Founders.
In this series I had the pleasure of talking to 13 successful founders and magnificent human beings over the 10 episodes in the season. Busy people who created the time to talk to me and share with you the secrets of their 'founder mojo'.
I sought out a diverse group of founders to ask them about what mojo means to them as an entrepreneur and a leader. It’s been one of my favourite series for many reasons: meeting amazing new people, reconnecting with old friends, sharing the ‘special sauce’ of successful founders – how they keep their Mojo high and flowing in, let’s be honest, often very testing and stressful circumstances. Because founding anything, be it a business or movement or community, is not easy. However the mojo upside when successful can be huge.
Thank you to all my guests - here is the full line from series 4:
Ep1: Ally Owen - Brixton Finishing School
Ep2: Ben Gallagher - B&A
Ep3: Kate & Laura - Liberty Hive
Ep4: Jen & Sally - Craft Media
Ep5: Laura Clacey - Sxollie Cider
Ep6: Anda Gansca - Knotch
Ep7: Josh Scacheri - LoveHero
Ep8: Karen Cinnamon - Smashing The Glass / Your Jewish Life
Ep9: Anna & Cal - Shine For Women
Ep10: Jamie McCloskey - Lover Corn
This episode is a short 20 minute summary of the key themes that emerged for me from my conversations. Far from being an exhaustive list of everything that came up - there were just too many tips and insights across the 10 episodes to do that. I hope this episode shines a light on what's going on for these Founders and how they maintain their mojo in order to realise success (however they define it).
I firmly believe that great things sit within all of us, we have amazing potential when we decide to commit to creating our own reality. Its my encouragement and wish that you find your thing – whatever shape it takes – and I believe you’ll find that you have the mojo in place to make it happen.
Thanks for all the love and support for series 4, the next series will be emerging into the light in September - look out for that by subscribing to the Mojo Podcast wherever you find your podcasts.
Until then - I hope your mojo continues to flow

Welcome to the final episode of the 4th series of the Mojo Podcast - and what a way to finish.
This week I talk to Jamie McCloskey the co-founder of fast-growing snack brand Love Corn
It was a conversation with Jamie 3 years ago that led to the seed of an idea that eventually became The Mojo Podcast. I was fascinated about Jamie's ability to take all his skills, strengths and positive beliefs from a (in his words) "19-year apprenticeship in media" to the demanding world of a start-up brand in Food & Beverage.
It took us 3 years to get a chance to record but I think it's worth the wait as the episode is chock full of inspiration. Whether you’re in a place where you’re thinking about a move or a change of direction and perhaps you’re wondering if you have the skills and strengths for that new thing. Jamie shines a light on how to transfer not just skills BUT most importantly how to bring an abundant & positive mindset to a new challenge.
As you’ll hear, Jamie spent his career working for challenger brands in the media sector and now he relishes being a challenger in snack food - different industry same mindset.
What a great way to finish this series.
Please share you own take-outs from the series on my Linked In page I'd love to hear what you think and also your suggestions for future guests.

To mark the 50th episode of The Mojo Podcast, I invite two great friends and highly successful founders onto the show for a really insightful and powerful chat about the founder mojo.
Anna Barez-Brown and Caroline 'Cal' Whaley launched Shine 4 Women 9 years ago after both having successful corporate careers but looking for their next step - in their language, this 'bigger game' of founding theor own business. They found each other, they created their product and brought it to market. Our chat is a wonderful reflection on what they've done and plan to do next.
Shine 4 Women is dedicated to making business more human by enabling more women to reach the top and teams to have open, honest conversations that bring empathy, trust and inclusion. They have worked with 10,000 women (and hundreds of men) across 75 nationalities, empowering them to lead the change they want to see.
As I mention, I'm very proud to be one of the Senior Leaders at Shine - but in this conversation I discover so much more about both Anna and Cal and the business they have created. It's a great conversation.
Here's more about them individually.
Anna is a renowned executive coach and has spent the last two decades helping women and men reach the top of their careers. This week we explore the passion behind the underdog. We delve into the fashion industry and understand the mojo required to make change.
After years of working for global brands and retailers, Joshua Scacheri recognised that there was an alternative way of doing things that was less damaging to the planet. Joshua envisaged a mindset change and business model shift that didn’t have to compromise success in today’s industry. Identifying that some brands who wanted change didn’t want real change. Joshua took matters into his own hands and pursued the change he wanted to see, through LOVE HERO. Developing a brand whose DNA has a more conscious and sustainable approach embedded from within.
LOVE HERO has just been awarded by Drapers as part of the Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022

My guest this week is Anda Gansca the Co-Founder and CEO of Knotch, the content intelligence platform enabling companies like Zillow, Dropbox, Walmart, Bank of America, Salesforce and others to accelerate content-driven customer journeys. A regular thought leadership contributor to the trade media and industry at-large, Anda has been named to both Forbes’ and Inc.’s annual 30-Under-30 lists, AdWeek's Young Influential List, Campaign’s Female Frontiers List, and AdWeek's Top 100 Creatives, to name a few.
We talk about growing up in a former communist country, being an immigrant in the US, the value of coaching and therapy, how to lead with an open heart and open mind and what it's like to be a new mother in the world of tech. And her personal definition of mojo - 'being in touch with your own truth'.

This week on The Mojo Podcast we have a look at what it's like to launch a business with your life partner as your business partner.
I talk to Laura Clacey who together with her husband Karol Oataszewski launched the modern craft cider brand - SXOLLIE - over 8 years ago.
This episode introduces a completely new dynamic to the founders story and Laura is highly generous in sharing her insights into how a relationship forged in love makes complete sense in the world of business and that particularly challenging area - that of a start up. We also talk about how they have built a brand in the right way - as they are a proud B Corp business and we talk about that towards the end in celebration of B Corp month in March.
In this episode you’ll hear what is crucial for finding your way together as life and business partners - brutal honestly, long term planning, understanding each others skills and strengths, and how to build a formidable level of resilience when things don’t go to plan - and guess what, there have been plenty of bumps in the road for the Sxollie founders.
This is a wonderful chat with a really bouyant founder who understands why she and her husband have been successful
I really enjoyed this conversation and I’m sure you will to - whether you’re thinking of starting up with your partner, or going solo. As ever it’s jam packed full of support and insight.
About SXOLLIE:
SXOLLIE is on a mission to show people that there is an ethical apple beverage out there that you will love, and a cider good enough to replace that glass of wine or G&T. Made naturally like a wine with Champagne yeast and only your favourite eating apples, grown in the South African sunshine – nothing else. It makes for a decidedly different cider. That’s why we call it xider. SXOLLIE is the first UK cider company to obtain the prestigious B Corp Certification and is available at selected Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco and Morrisons stores as well as the exclusive cider at Nando's nationwide.
Thank you also to Patricia Bacon for the introduction to Laura

Another week, another birthday celebration. This time we mark the 4th anniversary of the founding of Craft Media. And I'm delighted to say again a success story of two female founders: Jen Smith & Sally Weavers.
This is a brilliant conversation which I could subtitle - "The Power of a Chat over a Cup of Tea". As this is how they came together as a foiunding duo, and how they make connections with clients, partners and their team. It's all about connection.
Craft is a communication consultancy, deliberately designed to be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of clients and the wider industry. Craft believes a great communication plan can bring everything together. Making sure the right brief is written, that media and creative are aligned around a real understanding of consumer behavior, having absolute certainty around how a brand behaves, and an intrinsic knowledge of media channels – what they do, how they work and the role they play in consumers lives – is the path to brilliant work and outstanding results.
Since launch they have worked inside creative agencies (Grey, Uncommon, Lucky Generals) directly with clients (Nike Swim, ASOS, Which?) with media owners (Shortlist, Whatweseee, Vice) and with media agencies (Mindshare, Wavemaker, MC&C)

On this week's epsiode we celebrate the first birthday of the business founded by my guests Kate Merritt & Laura Braithwaite. In Febuary 2021, Kate and Laura launched Liberty Hive connecting media, marketing and martech specialists to businesses quickly and easily. Their vision is to disrupt the media industry by dialling up flexibility in the workplace, made possible by creating a dedicated technology platform for media specialists and companies.
Turning the tables on traditional recruitment, the instant matching technology means Liberty Hive behaves more like a dating service for the industry! However, it’s not all about the tech as both founders recognise the importance of the personal touch and love nothing more than talking to their new and growing media community – they are always up for a chat and a cuppa.
Between them, they have a combined media experience of over 50 years working at global networks, independent agencies as well as media owners including Dentsu, OMD, Rocket, Hearts & Science, Publicis, BLM, Havas, WPP, ITV and The Telegraph. They believe it’s this industry knowledge and network that sets them apart.
Ultimately, it is a love of the media industry and a determination to make a positive change for talent that drives their ambitious plans for Liberty Hive. Hybrid working, accelerated diversity and inclusion, flexible work/life balance, and agile resourcing are all things they support and celebrate at Liberty Hive – these are the reasons they launched nearly a year ago.

My guest founder this week is Ben Gallagher from B+A - a research and strategy consultancy.
Ben began his career as a journalist working at the intersection of youth culture and politics on the team that launched Sir David Frost’s seminal magazine programme with Al Jazeera International. Following this he worked as a strategist at a number of leading London advertising agencies before crossing to a client side role at Nike UK. After 3 years leading the Insight and Creative Strategy team at the Nike Foundation (Nike’s Corporate Foundation). Ben launched B+A with his co-founder Andrew Missingham. Throughout his varied career the constant thread has been a constant ambition to understand the truth of the human experience and how this can be shaped to create a better world in the future.
In this epsiode we look back over the 8 years of the company's history to understand what lay the foundations for the success they enjoy today - doing great work with an array of incredible clients - and fundamentally solving problems for them.
You’ll hear about the time Ben & Andrew spent working each other out - were they right for each other?
When they understood the need to put principle before profit and walked away from their 1st client.
How to grow and scale a team and to carefully manage their pace of growth.
And how to create not just a business but a movement for change.

And here we are, the final episode of a wonderfully varied 3rd series of The Mojo Podcast.
And what a way to finish, a hugely enjoyable and inspiring conversation with former England Rugby 7s captain, Ollie Phillips.
But being a former Rugby professional (and once voted best 7s player in the world) is a mere snippet of who Ollie is. He's a global adventurer, world record holder, entrepreneur and businessman, journalist and commentator and most importantly, husband and father.
We talk about Ollie's mojo story which centres around the challenging transition he made from the rugby pitch to the boardroom. It wasn't easy, it wasn't pain-free and took him to areas of massive self-awareness. There is so much to learn from in this episode - whatever the change or transition your comtemplating - there is something for everyone here.
Ollie loves a challenge, as you'll hear, and next week he's getting on his bike to cycle 1000 miles around Ireland in support of My Name'5 is Doddie Foundation raising money for research into Motor Neurone Disease - click here to find out more
And do check out Ollie's business - Optimist Performance

This week's episode is all about dreaming big, no matter what the obstacles in your way might be.
I have the great pleasure of talking to Captain Donald Lawson about his dream to be the first African American to compete in the epic and perilous Vendée Globe Non-Stop-Solo-Round-The-World yacht race in 2024.
His course towards this epic voyage was set at the age of 9 when he found himself on a large sailboat, talking to the captain about the fact this boat could go all the way around the world. Since that day, this has been Donald's passion and purpose.
He is a highly qualified and experienced sailor and instructor - spending time with the US Navy. Indeed, he calls sailing the greatest teacher there is.
But he's the thing. As a man of colour, this path was not an obvious one and sometimes not one encouraged by other yacht club members, as you'll hear. Captain Lawson acknowledges the vital role in his development of allies and mentors such as legendary US sailor, Bruce Schwab. Indeed, if you'd like to see some video of life in The Southern Ocean - check out this film of Bruce talking about his Vendee experience - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2OhD7nY6GY
When you consider how few people have since the Vendee Glove began in 1989, only 71 sailors have successfully completed the course. You get a sense of just how tough and demanding Donald's voyage will be. But armed with the mojo he has, and the support of loved ones, friends and an amazing support team at Whitecap Sailing You wouldn't want to bet against him.
Donald is breaking down barriers each step of his way - those in the ocean from Mother Nature and also those imposed by a society where so few people of colour have been encouraged to sail.
You can follow Captain Lawson's progress to his goals via his Instagram @captdlawson and his Facebook @CaptainDonaldLawson

A real treat of an episode this week as I interview someone whose books I've devoured and whose podcast I can't get enough of. He is somone who is exceptionally well placed to talk about mojo in sport.
Professor Damian Hughes is a sports psychologist and visiting professor at Manchester Metropolitan University. An expert on high-performance sporting cultures, Damian's research has been praised by the likes of Sir Richard Branson, Muhammad Ali, Sir Roger Bannister, Tiger Woods, Jonny Wilkinson and Sir Alex Ferguson.
He is an incredible observer of human performance through his rare ability to get very close to both sports people and sports organisations. He is able to do this by creating incredible levels of trust, based on both is values and trade-mark behaviours. Both of which we talk about extensively. Hence his ability to see success up close and the clues that success leaves behind.
I highly recommend you check out The High Performance Podcast where Damian is the ying to Jake Humphrey's yang. It's a great example of how collaboration and team work can create amazing things. @highperformance
I also recommend Damian's book The Barcelona Way and we talk about where the current FC Barcelona team is, mojo-wise.
Damian has written many other books and is a high-demanded speaker and workshop leader - you can find out more on his website or his Instagram @liquidthinker

This week I have the great pleasure of talking to a role model from the world of Women's Rugby
Marlie Packer plays her club rugby for Saracens and is a regular in the England team. She has a long list of accolades to her name. From her position as flanker she helped England win the Rugby World Cup 2014, in 2017 was a losing finalist vs New Zealand, she is a 4 x Grand Slam winner, and also regular 7s player. Recently she was named by the Daily Telegraph as one of the best 10 women rugby players in the world.
Marlie provides a first-hand perspective of the growth of the women game - from her first experiences aged just 6, to making the England team in the pre professional era. And how now as a full time professional this has allowed her game to flourish but also means she can ‘play it forward’ and through her exploits encourage more girls to take up the game.
A key theme is certainly around making sure you work hard at surrounding yourself with the right people. This has really helped Marlie when there are set-backs and adversity - be that sporting ones or life in general
So yes, we talk about radiators - not simply the ones in your house that she’s qualified to fix but more the people you need around you to learn from, feel encouragement and support from during the highs and the lows of life in an elite team sport set up and in your life outside of sport. Not least her partner Tash and their little boy Oliver.
You can follow Marlie on Instagram @marlie_packer

This week my guest is Duncan Slater, former Royal Airforce infantry solider and his story of injury, recovery and incredible sporting achievement.
We start in the far north of Scotland, then move to war-torn Afghanistan before taking us to the searing heat of the Saharan desert in southern Morocco.
Duncan talks very candidly about the incident in Afghanistan which left him critically injured after his patrol was hit by an IED. We talk about the choice Duncan faced - whether to keep his injured legs or amputate.
Having cycled Lands End to John O'Groats just months after losing both legs, then walking to the South Pole with Prince Harry and completing the London Marathon - he still wanted to do more, push himself further and raise more money and awareness - to ultimately answer the question "what am I capable of now?”
The second half of our chat is the story of how Duncan took on and eventually completed the toughest footrace on the planet - without feet - and he became the first double amputee to complete the fabled Marathon des Sables in 2017. The Marathon des Sables, or MdS, is a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons. The longest single stage is 91 km long.
Here is an ITV News clip of his preparation for the 2017 race
It's an amazing conversation. Please do remember to subscribe, leave a 5 Star rating AND write a short review on Apple Podcasts.

This week on The Mojo Podcast we delve into the world of US College sports: high stakes, high pressure environments where massive professional contracts in the NFL or NBA can be dreamed of, but only for the very talented few. A world where student athletes combine full-time studies with elite level full-time athletic performance. Indeed, US College sports collectively takes more annual revenue than any other professional sports leagues in the world, bar the NFL.
I have an amazing guest to shine a light on what it’s like to play and live in this rarefied atmosphere.
Skylar Thompson is the starting quarterback at Kansas State University and he is the real deal. He has been setting the highly competitive Big 12 football conference alight over the past three years. A 30-game starter, which is the third most among K-State quarterbacks since 1990. He is know as a dual-threat QB, because he runs the ball as well as throwing it. He is just the second player in his school history to throw for 5,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a career.
He has enormous talent and is widely tipped to be a future NFL player.
Don’t worry if you’re not an American football fan, we don’t go deep into the intricacies of a game which can be physically brutal but also nuances and highly strategic.
Skylar and I focus our conversation around how he handles the demands of playing “the hardest position in US sport” that of quarterback. The pressure on student athletes and the weight of expectations from fans and family and how he deals with it. And how he is dealing with injury right now and how he’s stayed 100% connected to his team during his rehab.
We also talk about adversity and Skylar has a deeply painful story he shares around loss - he talks about how he not just survived this period but thrived as a consequence.
Skylar - it’s hard to believe sometimes - is only 23, but his maturity, focus and humility are incredible. He shares his approach to leadership and talks about how his mojo can radiate and impact the mojo of his team mates.

This week The Mojo Podcast meets Adam Burgess, TeamGB canoe slalom medal prospect at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
In a sport where the margins are so fine, where your course is constantly moving and flowing and the difference between winning Gold and coming in 10th maybe a couple of seconds. Success is as likely to be down to how you set up mentally for a run as your physical preparedness and skill. Adam talks about how he has plugged a more holistic, mindful set of practices to help him find a greater chance of success.
We talk about how he has learned to be incredibly present and literally stay in the flow. How he quietens any doubt in his mind by filling his ‘box’ with positive intention
And how he deliberately trains for highly pressurised situations.
As an elite athlete, naturally we talk about dealing with the set-backs of injury and failure. Adam reveals he’s embraced a more holistic approach to living that have allowed him to bounce back faster and better than before. Drawing inspiration from yoga, meditation and breathwork.
About Adam:
From humble beginnings on the river Trent in Stone, to the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2021. ‘Good person first, athlete second’ is Adam’s personal mantra which inspires his approach to training and life. His passion for canoe slalom relays an infectious energy to those who surround him. He is curious and loves learning. Adam believes his variety of interests helps to drive creativity. Drawing experience from one area of his life to another. He has a degree in Sports Science and Management from Nottingham Trent University. More recently Adam gained professional qualifications as a yoga teacher and speciality coffee brewer. To Adam, this Olympic campaign is about more than just the GOLD medal he aims for. This is about sharing this unique experience as he invites supporters on this journey with him.

Welcome to the first episode of series 3 of The Mojo Podcast
This week I talk to Great Britain Para Table Tennis star Martin Perry. Born with no hands and one leg, Martin found a natural attraction to sport growing up with his three older brothers in Paisley, Scotland. He found his calling at aged 16, as he says, "table tennis seemed the obvious choice for a guy with no hands”.
After being inspired by the events of London 2012, Martin has gone on to win over 50 international medals for Great Britain including two European Championship Gold’s and winning the US Open. The two-time British National Champion has his eyes set on the Paralympic Games in Tokyo and beyond.
Martin is a true radiator of positive energy and thinking, he’s all about what is possible vs the apparently impossible. Indeed, he has a tattoo on his leg that says 'Disability' and the DIS is crossed out - this is his mantra. We talk about how this attitude has enabled him to play sport at the highest levels, as opposed to what his disability has prevented him from doing.
Martin shares how is able to see the positive in tough life situations, challenging match scenarios and how he instinctively sees the positive in all people.
His brand of positivity is both infectious and crucially, trainable, as for him positivity is a muscle you need to flex repeatably.
Find out more about Martin via his website or Linked In page - where you'll see his own podcast - The PerryPOD
Big thanks to The Athlete Media Group who helped arrange our conversation and through whom you can work with Martin.

A timely and poignant episode to end the second series of The Mojo Podcast.
This week I'm joined by Nadine Asmar from her home in Beirut. Nadine is a resilient entrepreneur with an international experience of more than 20 years in business strategy and human capital development. She has led teams, launched brands and worked in volatile markets.
She believes in the importance of rebalancing the relationship between society and business, purpose and profit, individual and organisation and rational and emotional in a bottom-line holistic approach as they all interweave with each other and are an integral part of each other. There is no separation. As the poet Rumi says “You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean in a drop”.
We talk about how Beirut is coping following the catastrophic explosion in August 2020, not to mention decades of civil war, economic strife and political corruption.
Nadine has chosen to return to Beirut after years abroad and wants to be part of the long-term rebuilding, both there and in the region, via mentoring and support for fellow entrepreneurs.
And she knows a thing or two about rebuilding, after having to rebuild her own life after a tragic event turned everything she knew upside down. It is a highly emotive story involving devastating loss and the choices she was forced to make.
In all of this, Nadine has refused to wear the badge of the victim or accept this narrative as hers. And in that and her approach to a non-victim mindset, there is a lesson for us all - in this year especially.
More about Nadine
As a catalyst & enabler of impact Leaders, Nadine strives to build their capacity holistically to make positive changes for themselves, organization and society at large with a human centric approach. Once we have a positive impact on people and planet with an ethos to match, we guarantee a place for our organization in the future.
As a lead facilitator for Mowgli Mentoring across the MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa for over 8 years, she co-create nurturing and safe environment for individuals to grow in self-awareness, feel supported and learn from the collective intelligence and shared experiences through their engagement in long term mentoring journey. She trains and coaches impact ventures on business modelling, scale up, innovation and investment readiness, leadership, cultural transformation, targeting youth, women, leaders and community-based organizations, implementing IES/INSEAD empowered programs. She has worked with numerous local, international organizations and academia, public institutions and local organizations. Nadine is a graduate in Socio-Anthropology and Master in Business Administration from AUB, Marketing focus from the American University of Dubai. What does it feel like to step up onto a stage in front of 50,000 people? What does it take to put your heart and soul into a song you've written and then wait for the reaction? And how do you truly understand what you're supposed to be in life?
These are some of the areas we cover in this week's episode as I'm joined by singer/songwriter/music teacher Shean Williams.
Shean has been involved in the music and entertainment industry for over twenty years. He grew up surrounded by music at his father's church, he was talent spotted at a very young age and went on to star in the West End at the age of 11. He has honed his craft in the UK but has also spent extensive time working in America whilst signed to Columbia records and working with the legendary soul artist Betty Wright’s Miami Spice publishing company.
Shean's mojo journey has seen him travel the world, yet always stay local through teaching and mentoring young performers. Whether he be teaching choirs locally, or on the road touring with Brit Award and Grammy nominated artist Craig David; the message stays the same, and intention true.
“You’re only ready to receive what you’re truly willing to give.”
You’re going to enjoy hearing Shean’s experience, you’re going to find his wisdom fascinating and you’re going to LOVE his pure passion and mojo throughout this. We had fun. Hope you love it too.

This week on The Mojo Podcast my guest is Ben Branson the founder of Seedlip and Æcorn Drinks, the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs.
Ben shares the ups and downs of his mojo journey from conceiving the idea for Seedlip in his kitchen and his first listing in Selfridges to where the brand is now. With offices in the Chilterns, Los Angeles and Sydney, Seedlip is now available in over 25x cities including New York, Barcelona, Shanghai & Singapore and served in many of the world’s most awarded bars, restaurants and hotels including 350x Michelin * Restaurants & 9/10 of the world’s best cocktail bars.
Creating a new brand is tough enough but building a whole new category in food and drink is a whole other level of challenge. So, what made Ben do it? Belief and, in Ben's own words, being deluded about his chances. He simply refused to believe it couldn't be done. There's also another key element to Ben's drive and ambition...
Ben describes Seedlip as a nature company that makes drinks and we delve into his love of nature and the natural world which forms the basis for what his has done, is doing and will do with Seedlip. As he says, no nature, no Seedlip. Meaning his recent meeting with Sir David Attenborough was even more important to him.
You'll get a huge amount of insight into what it takes to build a business like Seedlip and what has helped and tested his mojo along the way. It's a revealing and inspiring conversation.

Welcome to the Mojo Podcast
This week we’re looking at the not insubstantial subject of Global Harmony & Universal Mojo
Much of what I speak to guests about each week is very personal and individual mojo. This week I wanted to look at our Collective or Universal mojo a little more
Why now you may ask?
Well, this is a something of a rare episode as I’ve also timed it to coincide with an event that I believe will have an impact - to varying degrees - on all of us over time. The 59th US Presidential Election.
By the time you hear this episode - the voting will be over and we hope a clear result will emerge. One that will allow the US to heal many of the rifts that exist.
The intention of this conversation and having it right now is to spark some new thoughts, to explore new possibilities, to look at long-standing issues in a new way and, we hope, through greater underatanding and respect, increased global harmony.
To undertake a conversation about global harmony, cultural alignment and East/West relations I need a very special guest and I have just the person.
Ali Borhani. Ali is the Managing Director of 3Sixty Strategic Advisors a boutique firm based in London U.K that specializes in emerging markets focused on geo-economic and geo-strategic developments of the decoupling of East and West.
He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, the Geo-Strategy Expert with the Family Enterprise Foundation and a mentor to budding entrepreneurs through Mowgli Mentoring.
Ali excels in providing unconventional design thinking on growth and strategy, and acts as a sparring partner to senior executives, family businesses and next generation leaders. At heart Ali is a storyteller, a podcaster, broadcaster, an iconoclastic critic of current affairs and a keen observer of the decoupling of The East & The West.
He is the co-founder and host of Round Peg Podcasts in which he curates some of the most interesting conversations with global business leaders, family businesses, diplomats and other decision makers and recently launched his ONE20 Channel on YouTube
I hope you get something from this episode. It has certainly helped me look at the state of the world a little differently.
As ever please do leave a 5 start rating and that short review on Apple Podcasts
Thank you

How much attention do you give to how you are sitting or standing right? How does your body feel? Are there any niggling areas of pain? Maybe you favour a certain position or stance because it just feels better for some reason.
This week on The Mojo Podcast it's about our posture; how we hold ourselves, how we sit, stand and walk. After breathing these are perhaps the most basic, unconscious actions we undertake daily but that can have huge impact on our mojo.
My superb guest is Saskia Griffiths - a posture coach - she is fascinated by our ability to accept and live with stress and pain. As she's learned more about the human body and its abilities, she's moved away from this belief and is committed to helping others do the same. It is not natural to live in pain. Saskia talks about how she collected many injuries breaking bones, pulling muscles, training and weightlifting in poor posture creating chronic pains before realizing there could be a way of moving herself out of them.
Her mojo journey involved discovering the Bowspring technique which was transforational for her personally and which she know teaches both in person and online. We met at her retreat space Casa del Karma in the north of Ibiza where she works with clients to recognise that 'the issues are in the tissues' and that when you change your posture, you can change your life.
This is a fascinating conversation and demonstrates how so much of ourselves and our bodies are connected - pain in one part of the body is often related to something or somewhere quite different.
Saskia also offers up some very practical tips for all of us sitting at desk at home right now and how to bring more mojo to your Zoom Room conversation by sitting in a more optimal way. She also gives me the once over, checking and adjusting my posture - which I've been way more conscious about since our conversation.

What does it take to leave what on paper looks like the best job in the world? Why would you want to turn your back on life in 1st class seats, five-star hotels and Michelin star restaurants?
This week the Mojo Podcast investigates the mojo behind entrepreneurialism - the burning desire to step out of a corporate role and to create something of your own. And I have not just one amazing guest, but two. As my guests this week decided to join forces and share their entrepreneurial journey.
Steph Jordan and Tim Etherington-Judge are the co-founders of Avallen - a Calvados from Normandy in France. We talk about their journeys of self-discovery that led to the birth of this award-winning brand. Avallen has been recognised with multiple awards including ‘Green Launch of the Year’ at the Drinks Business Green Awards as well as a Design Master at the Spirits Business Design & Innovation Awards and Worlds Best Speciality Calvados.
Find out more here www.avallenspirits.com and follow @avallenspirits on Insta
Speaking of awards - Steph has just been named Woman Of The Year at the prestigious Drink Business Awards. From London to Bogota, with a sip of Burgundy in between, Steph is the creator and professional powerhouse behind Drinking Out Loud - the luxury wine and spirits consultancy www.drinking-out-loud.com and a strategic consultant at Yellow Global http://makeityellow.global/
Find her on social channels @drinkingoutloud
Tim Etherington-Judge is the founder of Healthy Hospo, co-founder of Avallen Spirits, and co-founder of Lassou. A hospitality professional with more than twenty-five years’ experience at all levels of the industry - from tourist-spot coffee shop, to chef, award- winning bartender, bar manager and global ambassador for some of the world’s most recognisable brands. As well as advising and consulting on sales and marketing, he has helped develop both new and established brands in this most competitive of sectors, including Bulleit American Whiskey, Ketel One Vodka and Johnnie Walker.
After a severe mental health breakdown in 2016, Tim left Diageo to set up Healthy Hospo @HealthyHospo his own not-for-profit company dedicated to building a healthier, happier hospitality industry around the world. His work in changing the conversation around health and wellness in the industry led to him being recognised as the 10th Most Influential Person in the Global Bar Industry in 2019. We talk about Tim's experience with depression and about attempting suicide. So, there is a content advisory here for that reason.
If you are in need of help or know someone who does - in the UK, the Samaritans can be contacted on 116 123. In the US, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 1-800-273-8255. In Australia, the crisis support service Lifeline is on 13 11 14. Please don't suffer in silence, you are not alone.
We are giving back in this episode - with the offer of a 90 minute business coaching session with me - on offer to anyone listening who is just embarking on their own entrepreneurial journey or who runs a start-up and would benefit from some extra help.
Drop me a short email to richard@mojodevelopment.co.uk - telling me a little about your business and how coaching could help you. I'm really looking forward to supporting you in your quest.
AND we are also offering a bottle of gorgeous Avallen to anyone who leaves a review of the episode on Apple Podcasts. Write your review and also add it to my Instagram grid of this episode - @mojorichard - so I know it's you and I can get in touch.

The image in the logo of the Mojo Podcast is a vibrant butterfly - I love the image and the symbolism for a podcast about how we deal with, learn from and grow from change in our lives. And this week's episode is right on the money in this area.
My guest this week is Mark Shayler and he talks to me about his own development and growth - his path to transcendence . Mark very openly and honestly points out the moments of deep introspection when he realised change wasn't just possible but vital to him. He describes himself as 'an introvert who hides in the spotlight'.
We talk about big shifts in life, such as grieving potential, losing friends, building community, creating new things, his daily Qi Gong class on Instagram. We spend plenty of time talking about how he helps people present better (and he is a great presenter) when they are truly themselves up there on that scary stage. He says “don’t be a character, be yourself - you can’t forget your lines when you talk about your life”
Other great quotes to look out for:
"Comparison is the thief of happiness"
"What is not transformed is transferred"
Mark's consultancy, Ape, helps big companies think like small ones and small companies think like big ones. He works on innovation of products, services and business models; he works on sustainability and company purpose; and he coaches businesses and individuals. He has worked for Nike, Coca-Cola, Seedlip, Unilever, Hotpoint, Samsung, John Lewis, Fenwick, Bacardi, Diageo, Mars, Thorntons, 3M, Amazon, Panasonic and hundreds of funky little businesses like Propercorn, Teapigs, Hiut Denim, and Ugly Drinks. He is a Founding Partner of the Do Lectures and author of the books Do Distrupt: Change the status quo or become it (Do Books) and Do Present: How to give talk and be heard (Do Books). He is a Founding partner of feel-good lockdown project www.reasonstobecheerful.co.uk

We've probably all experienced a form of trauma in our lives - loss, sickness, abuse, discrimination, injury, redundancy - and right now trauma levels seem to be at a peak.
This week we look at what can grow beyond the despair of trauma and these experiences can fundamentally reshape us and even provide renewed purpose in life. My guest has lived through her own experience of deep trauma following being diagnosed with blood cancer at 23, and having to put life on hold just when life is meant to start open up and accelerate. In her own words she went from a life of 'tequila to spirulina'.
Sophie Trew is co-founder of the Trew Fields Festival - the world's first cancer awareness and holistic health festival. She is also a post-traumatic growth coach, meditation teacher & breathworker.
She talks about how her training as a journalist helped us ask questions of medical science rather than sit back and accept the prognosis. She also asked 'why us' not just 'why me' in a bid to understand why cancer is so prevalent in our society and why survival rates are so low. And she shares much of what worked for her in her battle to beat cancer. We talk about gut health and Sophie talks me through a great breathwork exercise you can all use right now.
To find out more about Sophie and the festival go to the Trew Fields website.
You can also follow Sophie on Instagram @sophie_trew and the festival @trewfields.festival
And yes this is a cancer story, so it could be quite tiggering for some of you. As I mention in the intro, a former colleague passed away just last week from Bowel Cancer so for that reason I'm sharing a link to Bowel Cancer UK if you'd like to donate to support their vital work.

How are your key long term relationships doing in this strangest of years?
Relationships with your partners and loved ones, with friends, with colleagues and yes, of course, the key one - your relationship with yourself.
Whether by choice or not - you may have spent some time reflecting on these relationships recently. What's the context for your key relationships? What do they mean to you? How are you showing up in your various important relationships? And how can we all even better understand what we bring to our relationships?
I’ve got a wonderful guest today to talk about keeping the juice or potency in your key relationships - Bodhi Aldridge joins me from Byron Bay, Australia.
Bodhi is a business coach and mentor specialising in creating sustainable change through the relationships we create in our business, our families and with ourselves
He’s also a husband father and grandfather - and surfer as he'll talk about.
We talk about Masculine & Feminine energy and what each brings to relationships. We discuss Comfort Zones and the importance of moving out of them in order to find your 'edge'. Bodhi talks about the Hero's Journey and how this relates to Masculine energy specifically - the holy grail is closer than you may think.
As a new father, I also ask Bodhi for his advice to me as I bring up a little boy to be good man. Tuning into our emotions and taking responsbility lie at the centre of his experience and advice.

This week on the Mojo Podcast we talk about finding your true path in life, in my guest's case - her true colours.
Karen Haller is a leading international authority in the field of applied colour psychology, specialising in business brand colour, interiors, healthcare and wellbeing. Having studied colour for over 20 years she understands how colour affects us, influences us and how businesses and designers can use it to influence behaviour.
We talk about how colour impacts how we think, feel and behave and how it effects so many decisions we make, often in more ways than we may credit. To help you apply some of the thinking she's worked on, Karen shares some top tips for using colour in your home office and on those Zoom calls, as we are all spending much more time there!
But it's Karen path to where she is today that we focus our mojo conversation on. In a time when many of us are in mid-transition or considering big change - Karen's story is an inspiring example of 'just keep going' even when things get difficult. And they certainly got difficult for her - as she was forced to face her own fears and created a 'thing' than no one understood.
And if you're considering a big move - Karen's mantra of 'if not now, when?' is something to keep in mind. She provides encouragment to say yes to opportunities and to find the confidence to do this in your life experience and to draw on strengths from all areas of your life to find your true colours. It's sage advice.
To find out more about Karen - check out her excellent website and be sure to sign up for her brilliant monthly newsletter

This week on The Mojo Podcast we talk about how to have a radically different relationship with money.
My guest this week has done just that. Born in Nigeria, a migrant to the UK as a teenager - Ken Okoroafor grew up seeing his parents struggling day in day out just to get by. This experience drove him on to seek a new path.
We talk about how Ken used education as his launchpad, and how he beat the odds to gain his accountancy qualifications leading to a top City investment job.
But this wasn't the path forever - it was part of a wider vision that aligned more to his and his wife's Mary values and true purpose in life. First, to be financially independent themselves and then to help as many families as possible to also achieve this seemingly unobtainable goal.
So this year he quit the big job and now runs The Humble Penny full time - a personal finance platform with the mission of helping its audience create financial independence and money joy in their lives.
Ken shares how he and his wife are true business partners, each bringing their own skills and knowledge to their platform which has just hit 1 million You Tube views. It's amazing what you can do with 2 hours per day.
Ken also shares their next project - a seriously big and audacious goal to help 10,000 families reach financial independence with the help of their newly launched community - The Financial Joy Academy
Check out the easy to digest and very practical films on their You Tube channel - The Humble Penny and also follow on Insta @thehumblepenny

The electronic dance music industry is known for its superstar DJs and dynamic club culture, its synonymous with partying hard and good times but perhaps not with so well known as the rock and pop music industry for raising money and supporting charity, despite the billions of dollars dance music generates every year (* yes 2020 apart which has been something of a challenging year).
My guest this week set out 10 years ago to change this view and make a difference where he saw not enough being done. He set out to challenge existing beliefs about the contribution dance music could make, to show what could be done when a compassionate industry came together behind a clear purpose and to make an impact in the lives of children in crisis all over the world.
Jonny Lee is the visionary founder of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life a charitable foundation creating opportunities & fundraising initiatives to enable the dance music industry to make a positive impact in support of children in crisis. Jonny is a dance music pioneer, an acid house missionary, taker of big risks and a bundle of positive energy.
We meet up on the cliffs of south east Ibiza, surrounded by whispering pines, bird song and the hum of cicadas. The spot we meet at is a place Jonny gets huge inspiration from. We talk about his mojo journey and what happened to make him realise he just HAD to do more. Also, how his background in organising huge parties all over the world came in very handy for running a charity - where positive intent is met with synchronicity and magnetism. Jonny defines what the art of giving means to him and the difference the charity has made to lives of thousands of children in crisis.
We talk about the last Set For Love project - live stream events bringing DJs of all levels together to fundraise for emergency appeals during lockdown. You can join the likes of Carl Cox and Nightmares on Wax by getting involved in the forthcoming Set For Love on November 20th - which is International Children's Day.

A very warm welcome back to The Mojo Podcast - it's wonderful to be back with the second series of the show that goes in search of the meaning of mojo and looks to understand this vital essence.
Every week I talk to a diverse group of brave and fascinating guests about their own mojo story. My guests openness leads to revealing and inspiring conversations for you to hear and, as part of my mission, to use these tips and ideas to work on your own mojo.
And my very first guest of series two has a miraculous mojo story to share.
Susie Pearl is an author, podcaster and writer about creativity, positive living and keeping happy. She has a long and successful track record in the entertainment and PR industry. If there is an 'A lister' you can think of, Susie has no doubt met and worked with them. She's been around creatives and mavericks her whole life.
She's also a survivor. After being diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumour, Doctors gave Susie 6 weeks to live. But she fought back and we talk about her approach to life as a result of winning that battle.
And we talk at length about one of the projects that was born out of her cancer experience - her new book - The Art of Creativity – 7 powerful habits to unleash your full potential.
You can find out much more about Susie via her website and also order a copy of the book with is launched this week.

As one listener to the Mojo Podcast pointed out in a recent review - this podcast series is about "deep and raw conversations that offer great perspectives each week". And that is an excellent summary of this week's conversation, which is the last in the first series of the Mojo Podcast.
Louis Nethercott is a former Royal Marine Commando, veteran of tours in Afghanistan and now one half of a duo on a quest to conquer the world's five largest islands...on foot!
His mojo story is brutally frank, certainly raw and incredibly inspiring. We talk about his wartime experiences, what he learned from the Royal Marines training and its ethos and how he’s applied this to his post military life. Louis is very open about his struggle with PTSD and the dark place he found himself - and how he emerged from that place.
Together with his mate and fellow veteran Ant Lambert, they crafted an idea for a huge adventure that would test them beyond anything they had experienced before - Expedition 5 was born. A world record attempt - two men walking unaided across the worlds’ 5 biggest islands. Through brutal jungles and across freezing icecaps.
Louis shares stories about the expeditions so far - after completing 4/5ths of the challenge - some of the deep lows and near death experiences, as well as the learning and joy the adventure has given him.
There is some strong language in this episode and so it's been marked as explicit.
You can learn more about this epic adventure via the website http://expeditionfive.co.uk
And if you'd like to support their final push acorss Baffin Island - here is the Just Giving page https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=Expedition5&isTeam=true

This week's episode is about courage in the face of disease. Indeed, finding the beauty within dis-ease.
My guest this week is Carrie Montgomery and she knows a thing or two about resilience, courage and adaptability. Developed in the face of a long history of medical issues in her life from breaking her back as an 18 year old to most recently contracting encephalitis at the end of 2019.
She has used each episode to learn and adapt her approach to life, so I just knew she’d be a great source of inspiration right now. Overtime she has learned - the hard way - as I say, to find beauty in dis-ease.
When conventional medicine couldn’t resolve things for her, she went on her own learning journey to better understand what was happening to her.
This agency both helped her with her health and provided the inspiration for her eponymously named business - where she creates transformation for women from the inside out.
Carrie is many things - an entrepreneur, dog mom, stylist, visionary, challenger of convention, survivor, empath and Jane of all trades...the list goes on, she’s lived an amazing life so far. It was an honest, open and fascinating conversation that feels very well timed for now.

Life is full of ups and downs. How we cope with the rollercoaster of life often defines us.
My guest this week has certainly experienced the highs and lows of life.
From performing on-stage with Fat Boy Slim in front of 500,000 revellers in Rio to mixing cement on a wet Brighton building site a few days later.
Howard Boyle tells his mojo story of escape. From a chance decision to make his way to Ibiza, blagging a job at legendary club night Manumission and really living the life. To working out what his real strengths were and building a business around them. Always being true to his core values of respect and integrity has allowed him to ride the rollercoaster with a smile on his face.
You can see Howard's Rio performance here - 2.48 in - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk2zu8YcaVo
Here's the trailer for Ibiza: The Silent Movie - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN8DYKJwgYY&has_verified=1

My guest this week is Ben Arogundade the author of “My Terrifying, Shocking, Humiliating, Amazing Adventures In Online Dating” in which he chronicles his own dating experiences as a man in his early 50s thrust into the app-dominated world of dating.
During his time dating he worked out how to make the system work for you rather than against you, and he shares his both painful and hilarious anecdotes plus recipes for success.
We talk about his reflections, tips and advice but of course we kick off talking about the world we’re in right now - a world under lockdown - we talk about how Ben fuels his mojo, how he gets into flow as a creative and the impact of COVID19 on relationships.
Ben was a great guest and given he is true multi-hyphenate, he’s a writer publisher entrepreneur and as you’ll hear a voice artist - we could have talked for days on many topics but I’m respectful of your time so we kept well under an hour.
You can read a great Guardian article by Ben on his book here, also read more of his work at White Labels Books
To find out more about Ben see his Linked In and his website
His booked is available on Amazon and other good booksellers.

In a time of crisis, how do we consider the possibilities beyond our immediate anxiety?
We're all looking out into the unknown right now, it’s both uncomfortable and strangely exhilarating. Leading to perhaps a clash of feelings and thoughts, certainly something I've been considering this past week. My mojo has been all over the place.
So my conversation with Barry Holmes was perfectly timed and immensely reassuring. Hopefully as much for you as it was for me. Barry’s purpose in life is to change the way the world thinks about learning. He is all about possibilities and that’s exactly what we talked about - a great subject area for the podcast as mojo is about possibilities. The higher your mojo, the greater the possbilities in life - opportunities seem almost infinite. When our mojo is low, possibilities seems limited and constricted - and that’s partly due to our thinking. Understanding that we are not our thinking this is a big part of what we talk about. And we move on to talk about loss, triathlons, health & fitness, a life free of measurement, having children later in life, and taking on the seeming impossible. Yes we go deep and wide but all under the umbrella of possibilities. Barry's business is Zoom Creates and you can find his Linked In here

This week's episode is all about energy.
Energy is at the core of my mojo and many of the people I’ve interviewed so far. So I wanted to go deeper on the subject of energy and understand why it's so foundational to our mojo.
To do this I turned to a global expert on energy and someone who works daily to help individuals and businesses increase their energy
Chris Baréz Brown is the founder of Upping your Elvis, a consultancy who embed a human, energetic and creative working culture to create healthy, happy businesses. He is also the founder the charity Talk it Out
He is an author, keynote speaker, an uber creative mind, amazing facilitator and all round good guy.
We talk about the 4 key states of energy - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - how each affect us and how you can be better in tune with each state. As they all matter, and they all help you understand where you are and what you can do to boost your mojo.
You can can find more about Chris' business Upping Your Elvis via the website or their Linked In
And go and have a look at http://www.talk-it-out.org/ - the charity Chris established to help with mental health. I highly recommend using the resources there to have a powerful walk and talk.
Chris' book - Wake Up - is available from all good booksellers and of course Amazon

This week’s episode is all about kindness - what that looks like in the workplace and how it can be a business superpower
My guest today epitomises prolific kindness in his work and brings tremendous energy and vigour to the show.
Daniele Fiandaca is co-founder of Utopia - the business change consultancy. Also the Co-founder of Token Man - an initiative to give Men in industry a better understanding of the challenges women face in business. He was co-founder of Creative Social and co-author of the book Creative Superpowers.
On top of this, he also organises and curates and brilliant annual conference called Masculinity in the Workplace - and this is where we first met. I was struck as a delegate at this conference of Daniele’s mission but also his courage to display emotion and be vulnerable - not something you often see from men (or anyone) in industry.
We talk about A LOT of subjects - kindness, inclusion, purpose, making impact, being in the right place at the right time, influence, idea darwinism, hacking for productivity. It was a great thought provoking conversation. I hope you love it.
You can find out more about Daniele via LinkedIn. Also check out the Utopia website and be sure to sign up for the newsletter.
The book he co-authored, Creative Superpowers is available from all good booksellers and I'm sure on Amazon too.

International Women's Day special episode
What happens when your work life and personal life are put into conflict and hard choices have to be made?
How do you thrive in motherhood when your very identity is challenged?
How do you recalibrate what success now means for you, when your targets in life fundamentally change?
Well this is exactly what my guest today faced and overcame before setting up not one but two businesses of her own.
Today’s guest is Nicola Daniel - aka Davo - and you’ll hear more about her name and a lot about identity as we get into the episode. She is (in no particular order) a creative strategist, business founder, mum of two and one of the brightest shiny people who could ever hope to meet.
We talk about her experience of being thrust into a career T-junction as motherhood beckoned, what this meant for her and how she responded.
This episode is released a day earlier than normal to celebrate IWD - and it’s for working mums specifically for whom the themes around tough decisions and identity will probably especially resonate. But given the theme this IWD is "each for equal" I hope it’s also valuable for men too, as we know equality is not a women's issue, it’s everyone’s issue.

Imagine not really discovering your mojo until well into adult life, and therefore not living life to your potential. Knowing something is missing but not knowing how to fill this gap.
This is exactly how my guest this week felt until she discovered the transformational benefits of running.
Donna Warrren - the founder of Running Ibiza - shares her brave and personal story of discovering her mojo after the birth of her daughter. She conquered fears, developed greater will-power and found a whole new level of confidence and resilience in the process. Running also gave her access to a whole new community of like-minded people - all over the world.
I hope this episode inspires you to take on a challenge you've been thinking about. Let me know how you get on.

This week on the Mojo Podcast it’s the return of the Mojo Toolkit – a bonus episode covering a subject I hope to be of interest to you as you consider your own mojo, what’s effecting it and how you can work on getting it up to a level you desire. This week it's all about getting to know your own personal values. In this bonus episode, I talk about the importance of knowing your values, especially in relation to decision making. I then walk you through an exercise you can do on yourself (or with a friend) to help define your values.
You can use this episode in two ways. Simply sit back and listen as you usually would – and consider what is coming up for you. Or you can get fully immersed and do the exercise I offer up. To do that exercise, I have shared a long list of values on my Instagram @mojorichard – so go and grab that list and have a paper/pen to hand. (You can also search for "Personal Values List" to find this resoure.)
And also find yourself some SPACE to do this – and by space, I mean time when you can sit quietly and undisturbed and in a place that is relaxing and calming for you. Then it’s over to you – see how having your values codified helps you with the decisions you are wrestling with right now. I’d love to hear how you get on. Either message me on Instagram or send me an email. As ever, please do subscribe, leave a 5-star rating and most crucially of all – please write a short review – all of which helps make the Mojo Podcast more discoverable.
The usual guest story format returns next time. Until then I hope your mojo continues to flow.

Welcome back to The Mojo Podcast.
This week my guest is Kirsty Lewis - the founder of the School of Facilitation - a training and facilitation business that focuses on creating human-centered learning, events and gatherings through great design and delivery. It is also a place where fellow trainers and facilitators can find tips, techniques and support to improve their own businesses.
It is Kirsty's generous spirit and sharing of her knowledge that allowed me to discover her via her very honest and open Instagram channel. I've learned plenty from her and, in this episode, I'm confident you will too.
Kirsty shows how the clear understanding of her values and unwavering belief in them helped her make many big and tough decisions along her journey. She shares her mojo story on how she transitioned from a successful career with the world's number #1 drinks company to setting up her own business, and the times she has found her mojo to be at a low ebb and what her response has been.
We talk about the state of mojo in some of the companies she works with. And also how we can all create better personal and team mojo by being more conscious how we set up any business-based human gathering - be that a workshop, a meeting or a conference call. There are plenty of actionable tips for all listeners in this episode. Look out for P.O.S.T as a great way to set up any meeting/gathering. Purpose, Outcomes, Structure & Timing.

Welcome back to The Mojo Podcast.
This week my guest is Toby Clarke - the founder of Walking Ibiza and someone who understands the importance of finding your true purpose in life.
Toby shares his mojo story with us. A very clear moment in time when he realised 'what's the point in this' despite having the big job, the salary and success BUT fundamentally he knew this was not enough.
So he followed his heart and trusted his instinct to take him back to Ibiza - the island of his birth. Where he went on a quest to re-discover this beautiful place by walking around the full circumference of the island - with only 1 euro in his pocket.
This experience gave Toby the inspiration to set up his company - Walking Ibiza - allowing more people to embark on their own discovery of this magical island.
Toby shares stories from his 10 years guiding people around the island, plus anecdotes about the positive effects we can all get from walking in nature.
You can find out more from the website - or follow Walking Ibiza on Facebook or Instagram @walkingibiza to see what amazing adventures they have planned.

Welcome to 2020 and to the fourth episode of The Mojo Podcast.
My guest this week is Niaby Codd - author of The Spirit Of Life and host of a new podcast of the same name.
Niaby's mojo suffered from serious health issues, much of which was induced by working in the incredibly stressful world of stockbroking and trading. An industry that provided great financial reward but fundamentally masked her true identity and her calling.
After taking time out to travel in order to clear her head and improve her health - she found her herself in the Peruivan Amazon with a Shamen and experieced the effects of Ayahuasca. These profound hallucinations allowed her to finally connect with her Spirit and begin to rediscover her mojo. It's fair to say that life would never be the same again.
Since connecting with her Spirit, she has written a book channeled by Spirit - The Spirit of Life. This is the Amazon link.
When I talk about meeting brave and fascinating guests on The Mojo Podcast - Niaby really embodies this. It's an incredible story.
You can follow Niaby on instagram @thespiritoflifebook and find out more on her new website

Welcome to the Mojo Podcast - I really appreciate you taking time to listen. If you’re listening to this in near real time – it’s a few days until Christmas, not far from the end of 2019 and with that, the end of the decade! So, I thought a bonus episode might be interesting for all of you. No guest this week but rather some thoughts and tips from me – part of the Mojo Toolkit, which will be episodes where I share some techniques to help boost your mojo.
In this Mojo Toolkit I look at two techniques that are really appropriate and hopefully helpful to you at this time of year.
The first is a way of looking back on the year that is coming to an end with gratitude - the 108 Gratitudes list.
The second is to think about 9 Intentions you have for 2020, instead of the tradtional New Years Resolutions.
I'd love to hear how you get on with this and if it's helpful for you.
If you enjoyed this episode please do subscribe, leave a 5 star rating and write a short review - all of which helps more people discover The Mojo Podcast.

Welcome to the third episode of The Mojo Podcast - thank you for listening.
This week my guest is Vicki Connerty - award-winning playwright, cancer survivor and, as you'll hear, a wonderful raconteur.
We cover a lot of ground in this episode - growing up in the 1980s, first jobs in London, losing her father to cancer, moving to Australia, being diagnosed with cancer and using all of this experience to become a published playwright.
That might sound like a tough listen, but what you'll hear is Vicki's quite astonishing ability to find the light in the dark, to be positive and harness this positivity to fuel both her recovery and to rediscover her love of writing. She also found her writing voice and you'll hear plenty of her trade-mark dark comedy. There is also some tremendous personal finance advice!
I think there maybe the odd F-bomb in this episiode hence it's been marked explicit to be on the safe side.
If you want to join the Fellowship of the Ringlets or just read more about Vicki's story then head to https://www.facebook.com/groups/fellowshipoftheringlets/ orwww.fellowshipoftheringlets.com

Welcome to the second episode of The Mojo Podcast - thank you for taking the time to drop by.
This week my guest is Bree Verity, the founder of Arc Storytelling. Bree helps people tell their best life story – what they uniquely offer to the world and the most effective way to communicate it.
But Bree hasn't always been a start-up entrepreneur. She was a change management consultant within the IT industry for years. On paper she was successful and her career was progressing brilliantly. The thing is, she wasn't happy.
In the end, a holiday mishap gave her the unexpected time and space to think about what she really wanted to do. With the help of an unexpected ally, she crafted what would become her business today.
We talk about Bree's journey to this point in her life, the times her mojo has suffered and how she manages it on it on a daily basis. There is so much wisdom and experience in this interview, I know you'll get a huge amount from it.
Listen out for tips such as; developing alliances as a start-up founder, developing your story, getting your message out there (have 100 conversations in your first 100 days), the beauty of having an hour to talk about yourself and the value in striking up conversation with complete strangers. Which forms the Mojo Challenge this week - have a chat with someone you don't know - see how it feels and see what you learn.
Bree also asked me to share a special offer for Mojo Podcast listeners
Go to www.arcstorytelling.com and quote 'Mojo' to receive 20% off the Storytelling Package fee - a detailed 1 to 1 consultation to help you discover and hone your best life story - where you have been, where you are going and what makes you different.

Welcome to the very first episode of The Mojo Podcast - thank you for taking the time to drop by.
I started this podcast to enable brave and fascinating people to tell their mojo stories. How they lost their mojo and how they have managed to regain their mojo. Each deeply personal story is shared to allow listeners to better understand what mojo means to them and gain some inspiration to better manage their mojo.
And this first episode is especially personal because it's my mojo story. I felt compelled to share my story before I could ask anyone else to talk about their mojo.
I'm interviewed by Jo Youle of Reset Rebel Productions. We talk about my own definition of mojo - my essential energy - and how I focus on managing it everyday.
We talk in depth about two key moments in my life when my mojo was especially low - during divorce and when my corporate job gave me less joy. All of which led to decisons to make change in my life in order to get the wind back into my sails.
We cover areas such as fear of change, what we can control or influence and we cannot, being out of my comfort-zone, and what it took to set up my own business and relocate to Ibiza. We do talk about Ibiza a lot as I love it here. You can hear the sound of the waves from the beach we recorded on and, maybe, almost smell the pine trees that surrounded us.
I really hope you enjoy this episode - it's a huge learning curve for me so feedback is all very welcome.
