Abuse of any type is unacceptable. I, Lanatha J, am a survivor of domestic violence and abuse. On my healing journey, God spoke to my heart and encouraged me to be a voice for the silent victims. InCouraging Voices is designed to inspire you to acknowledge God in your situations. When God speaks an encouraging word to your heart, He will begin to do a new thing in you. Proverbs 4:4 says "He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live."

Unforgiveness blocks your blessings. Make room to receive your blessings. Mark 11:26 "But if you do not forgive, neither will your father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

We all have needs. When our needs are not met, it can cause us to feel unworthy of anything that we deserve. Philippians 4:19 says, "But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." When you align your needs with Gods purpose for your assigment, your needs will be met.

You have secrets, worries or concerns that you find to be overwhelming. You have a friend that's always available when you need them and sharing some of your most sensitive secrets with them can be scary. You feel a sense of relief after you've expressed your concerns. They are not judgmental because they have your best interest at heart. Jesus has chosen you as his friend and you can also trust him with your deepest secrets and concerns.

Wait for God to give you the green light. It's possible to miss your real blessing when you don't include God in your plans. God promised to supply your need and he will bless you abundantly. James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, the ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing"

A new year has come upon us and it's time for us to get ready for a new assignment. God is speaking so we must listen. God is love, God is Joy and God is life and God expects us to give to others what he has given us, love, joy and life. A kind word or a warm smile can make a difference in someone's life. When you hold on to your past, you hinder yourself from receiving the new things God has planned for you. 2 Corinthians says, "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." It's time to let go and let God do a new thing in and with you.

What is a flaw? How would you define imperfection? Since God created you in his image, there should be no such thing as a flaw. You were created to look and be different for a reason. Everything God created is beautiful and that includes you. Matthew 5:48 says, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect". The spirit of God abides in you so therefore you are perfect.

When God places a calling on your life and you try to hide, He will find you right where you are. He will cause a storm to rise in your environment to bring you out of your place of hiding. When you experience anything that stirs your spirit and make you feel uncomfortable, it is difficult to believe that God is in the midst. Storms, trials and tribulations of any type can make you think that your life doesn't have purpose. God has a plan for your life when he bring you through your storm. When you pray and call his name in your dark place, he will answer you and bring you out. Embrace yourself to come out of your place of hiding and move into what God called you to do. Jonah 1:1-3 " Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah, son of Amittai, saying, Arise, Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness has come up before me; But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish, from the presence of the Lord"

Most of us know what it feels like to be interrupted. It shifts our focus from the very thing we are doing. Interruptions also may cause us to lose interest in what we were doing. God began a good work in you while you were in your mother's womb but your past traumas interrupted His plan. Philippians 1:6 says "Being confident in this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Past traumas was just an interruption in God's plan for your life but His original plan never changed. His plan is for you to live according to his will and purpose. When you hold on to past traumas, you are interrupting the good work that God began in you. Let go of your past traumas so you can live according to God's plan.

Life is full of challenges and we will be faced with situations that can cause us to be uncomfortable in our spirit. Spiritual warfare is real. We must not give in to the challenges that come before us. Continue to use what God gave you to overcome your situations. His love and light is real so let his light shine within you. Let your words and actions honor God. 1 Peter 2:1 says, "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking."

Are you your worst enemy or do you entertain your worst enemy? When you continue to hold onto negative thoughts, the enemy will always find a way to entertain himself. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God"

In most situations, abusers feel the need to have control of something or someone. Being dishonest can and will keep you from living with purpose. When an abuser intentionally hurt others, they are unaware of the pain and stress that they are causing on their personal lives. God's word in John 8:32 says, "And ye shall know the truth, and the make you free." If you are an abusive woman, trust that God will heal you because silent victims (men) have a right to heard and believed.

What are your thoughts when you wake up? Do you plan to have a bad day? When you are aware of your thoughts and feelings, you will have a general idea about how your day will go. A humble heart and patience can be the greatest reflection on how you honor God in your day. Ezekiel 36:27 says, "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

When the underlying issues of mental health, domestic violence and abuse are not addressed, the effects can be devastating. The process of becoming a part of the solution can be scary but the healing is priceless. Enoch 1:8 says, "Then shall all belong to God; be happy and blessed; and the splendour of the Godhead shall illuminate them"

Each one of us has a calling on our life and when God has called you to be great in Him, the enemy will always try to find a way to distract you. God need you for his will and purpose. When you are feeling distracted in your mind and spirit, quiet your thoughts and sit still in the presence of God. Proverbs 12:25 reads, " Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop, but a good word maketh it glad." Again, sit still and quiet your thoughts so you can distract the enemy. Yes, it is time to shame the devil.

Open your heart and release the pain of your past. Abuse and emotional trauma does not have to be the end of your world. Forgive those who hurt you and ask God to forgive you for the pain and trauma you may have caused someone else to experience. God is good and everything he created is good and that include you.

What part of you are you still withholding from God? Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." God blessed you while you were in your mother's womb so there are no secrets about you when it comes to your life in God.

These three words have so much power. These three words hold the key to our happiness. They encourage us to do and be our best so lets speak with love and live in love because God is love. Deuteronomy 6:6 says, "And these words, which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart".

When we walk by faith, God is just to bless us with the desires of our heart. I fast and I pray and ask I God to use me in the greatest way possible. God is almighty and I love what he has called me to do. I give all glory to the savior. If the spirit of God moves, so should we. When you speak things into existence, God can make it happen according to his will and his purpose. It is proven in Genesis 1:3 "And God said, let there be light, and there was light". God needs each one us to be a light to his kingdom.

Past traumas, fear, doubts and unforgiveness can keep you in a place of darkness. If you need to revisit the place where your stresses began, let the spirit of God be the guide to take you back to those places. You don't necessarily have to revisit if it was a physical place, you could revisit those places in your mind and in your heart with the spirit of God that's within you. Just as the earth was without form and void and "darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved", so will the spirit of God move you out of your place of darkness and into his light.

When you become familiar with your surroundings before you travel into an unfamiliar territory, you will look for the best way possible to help you start your journey. Understanding your surroundings can help you stay focused on your journey. Trust that God will assist you on reaching your destination because his word says in Proverbs 5:21 "For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord and he pondereth all his goings."

Throughout your day, you may be faced with many challenges that tests your patience. Taking a few seconds to relax your thoughts can make a difference in your daily experiences as you face challenges and may also help someone else have a better day. The benefits of being patient is priceless and God's word says in Romans 5:3 "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience". Let God's word and his presence help you overcome challenges when your patience is being tested.

Where are you? This is an easy question to answer when you are familiar with your physical location. We now use Google maps, WAZE, or other navigation systems to help us reach an unfamiliar location. But where are you emotionally or spiritually? Are you on a journey of confusion? If you find yourself on an emotional or spiritual rollercoaster, God's spirit is the GPS that will find you and his word will help you redirect your journey. Galatians 5:25 says, "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" You cannot get lost when you are following God's directions because God is everywhere.

God's word in Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established." You have been given a special assignment to do the will of God and when you make a commitment to do what he has called you to do, he will give you clear direction to work with purpose. God will hold you accountable for everything you say and do so you must be mindful of how you interact with others. It has been said that people remember what you say and they also remember what you do, so why not "Commit thy works unto the Lord".

God has called us to honor his name by being mindful of what we do, think or say. Humble your spirit so you can glorify the name of God in everything you do because in Malachi 2:2 it reads, " If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart."
The work of the Lord is at hand so let's glorify him for what he is doing in us.

The choices and decisions we make always have an end result. What results are you planning to live with? God's word says in Isaiah 13:11 "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." God is commanding you to do the right thing, even if you have to suffer just as Jesus did.

Children of God, if you are experiencing darkness in your life right now, it's just temporary because the word of God say in Genesis 1:4 "And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness". God is calling you to follow that which is good. God is the light of the world and he is calling you to follow him.

Proverbs 15:33 says, "The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom and before honour is humility." Since the spirit of God abides in you, you cannot be broken because God cannot be broken. Circumstances and situations can only make you stronger when you humble yourself before the Lord.

Love is a powerful tool. Love can make us weak and love can make us strong. Love brings joy and love brings pain and when we stay in the shadow of God's love we can get through anything because God is covering us with his loving hands.

We pray because we trust God. Whatever we pray for, we are believing that God will answer our prayers. Yes he will answer our prayer because we have the confidence to ask God for what we need according to his will. 1 John 5:14 says "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hearth us". Whatever you ask for, God hears you and he will answer your prayers.

Doubts can overwhelm us with fear, When we ask God for something, we must show him that we are patient and believe he will do what he promised to do, according to his will. If we are struggling with patience, we continue to find ourselves calling on God to save us from the very thing he instructed us to stay away from. John 1:6 says, "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering, for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed". Overcome doubt with faith.

With so many things going on in our current time, it seems that there is no one who can be trusted. Situations, circumstances, trials and tribulations can leave us feeling hopeless. You may ask yourself. "Why are these things happening and what can I do about them." Psalms 62:8 says, "Trust in Him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge." Selah.

We know how difficult it can be for some men to verbally express their feelings. When it come to abuse, men will definitely have a difficult time seeking help. Women who are abusers may think it's ok to abuse or take advantage of a particular situation because she "thinks" the law will always work in her favor. No form of abuse is acceptable. Women were created to be a "help meet" for men.
Men I hear you and I believe you. I pray that God will continue to show me ways to use my Voice for the "Silent Voices" ( men) because you are worthy to be heard and healed.

What happens when abuse begins before birth or at the tender age of 3? Emotional and verbal abuse from parents is the worst traumatic experience for any child to endure. Emotional, verbal and physical abuse can and will cause lifelong mental stress if it's not properly addressed. If you are experiencing or have experience abuse and are seeking help don't give up because you deserve to be healed. If you are the abuser, seek help because you also deserve to be healed.

Depression caused by the loss of a loved one, or a change in your personal environment such as caring for an elderly loved one is normal but depression caused by unforeseen or traumatic situations can have a damaging effect on your mental and emotional development. When depression is properly addressed, the results can have a positive impact on your mental and emotional health.

There is a reason behind everything even if we never understand the purpose. When we stand firm on what we believe in and what God has called us to Do, He has a right to change the direction of our calling because HE is trusting us to reach our destination as long as we continue to follow His lead. God changed the direction for this podcast and I am following His lead because He is before all things and I know I'm going to still reach my destiny. My Faith is what keeps me determined to reach my destiny.

Pandemics and epidemics are nothing new to God. As early as 3000 B.C, pandemics have been in existence and scientists nor researchers discovered a way to keep the american people safe from future outbreaks such as the current crisis. But God has always been in existence and he is ready to protect you with his powerful words of wisdom.

That there will be storms. He also said that he would never leave us or forsake us.
