One roadtrip later, and our relationship is forever changed. Probably. I'll be honest, it doesn't feel that different. Oh, let me offer you an update! A lot of the problems I bring up in this episode have since been addressed. I have a window AC unit and it's wonderful! The drivers in my local area are timid af but at least aren't making too many dangerous choices. And I am less grouchy! At the moment, anyway. Who knows what the future holds.

There was no such thing as a small town on a Forge World like Novus Jersey, but The Boss's hometown was as close as you could find. Still, between the massive factoriums and their choking clouds of black smoke, the sky was a rare sight, even on the least dense place on the planet. But on the rare moments where Buce "The Bross" Spingsteen saw past the smog, the stars beyond seemed endless. But today, the curtain of smoke was closed- a velvet shroud foreclosing the future. A shroud he'd pierce one day, and escape.

Some might say with a name like "EternalEnvy" we should have anticipated ways in which he might become someone we didn't want to hitch our wagon to. The danger at this point is if I try to invent fictional Taco Bell items to deceive Nick, it'll turn out some of them are real. We've all noticed the rotating roster of Taco Bell ingredients. Now, I have some sympathy for influencers, and then I also have a lack of sympathy in some areas. Part of the blessing of Scanline not paying my bills is, I'm not beholden to audience numbers and such. Bottle Crow's existence was probably a good clue of that. Point is, I can make whatever I want, and also NOT make whatever I want (broadly). An influencer doesn't have that same freedom. The content they produce is in response to trends and demands, and while they absolutely have sway, if they just follow their whims too much odds are they'll be out of business. And so maybe a food influencer makes some recipes or videos they're not proud of. Maybe they just needed to pay the rent that day.
Or maybe they needed to pay the MORTGAGE that day because they're a lot more wealthy than me. Right? That's the thing? Onjay Efshay probably has, like... a house. That he owns. And then goes to a studio do do his little "FOOOD Wishes" lilt. So here's the thing: your recipe is dogshit and you should feel bad. And I'm coming for you. Until I get bored, which will probably happen pretty fast.

Honestly the rumored PSP3 is a bad idea because it'll be more like a Vita 2. And hey. The Vita was fine. I liked my Vita decently well. But the Vita's approach was to basically try to be a home to ports, mostly, and that territory is locked down by the Switch and the Steam Deck now. We don't need that! Now, the PSP had a lot of exclusives, which is to say games specifically designed for the PSP. That's interesting! But the industry doesn't work like that anymore. You just get shittier, worse running versions of the game. You get Kingdom Hearts Cloud Version. it's worthless. sony don't bother.

Resolut1on shuffled his feed. "I, uh... well. I've been hearing some of the... stuff. The rumors. You have too, right? About Dota... dying?"
"What about it?" Puppey flipped a page. "Things die, Reso. All we need is to be in a position to profit from it."
"Yes, uh... yes. You're... you're exactly right, captain. But I was... I was wondering. They. They say you save strats, right? Like, when Secret loses the International... they say it's because you're saving strategies. For the, uh, Intergalactic."
A cruel smile played across Puppey's face, then faded like it was never there. "They do. They do say that. And?"
"Uh... I mean, if that were... if that were TRUE, Captain Puppey, sir... I...?"
Puppey looked up, seeming annoyed. "Out with it, Roman. What?"
Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok swallowed. "What if the Dota pro scene dies before the Intergalactic ever happens?"
Puppey snapped the book shut with a sound like a thunderclap and sprang his feet. "Shit... shit! Ah, mother- alright!" He threw his desk out of the way with one hand as he marched out of the room. "Gather everyone, it's time for a change of plans. Shit... I can't believe that didn't occur to me. Good work, Roman."
Resolut1on let out a deep breath, the tension leaving his body. At least he could say he won the Aegis this year, even if there never was another one.
