This is the end of 1984, and my mom's first journal. She is spinning weaving wool, tooling leather and tanning hides and beading.
I'm not a Christian anymore so it's a bit unusual for me to pray all night and write a sermon, but if God can speak through a donkey speaking through me should be easy.
Eloise has a birthday, she works on saddles, tries to make herself a nice belt, and complains about the rain.
Eloise is very depressed, she has a friend who is good company but is a bad influence, and she is doing odd projects to make money.
Eloise is beading, going to the Ronan Christmas drawings, going to Paula's Christmas play, and getting a better wood stove for her parents.
Eloise makes popcorn balls, gets cheated by her sister on a calf deal, and goes to her parents 40th anniversary party.
Eloise is putting in fence on some rough terrain, and shoeing horses, and dealing with having a sick kid.
Eloise is a crew boss of a fencing crew. Paula is hospitalized with a mysterious illness.
Times are getting better, theres a work horse foal to train, a color tv, and a fairly good paying job.
Eloise works for Jay Johnson, she plays Yahtzee with Carol, is worried about a friend's lame horse, and releases some frogs into the irrigation ditches at her parent's ranch.
School is over for the year. Eloise visits with her sisters and friends, tools saddles, makes bridles, and travels around visiting some of the interesting places on the reservation. Paula has a birthday party.
Eloise looses her job and begins focusing on other projects, like fixing the disgusting couch.
It's Eloise's 31st birthday, she's milking cows, drying meat, dyeing eggs for Easter, and has a dog put down.
Eloise is milking cows and eating red apples, she's visiting with neighbors and looking into leasing some land from the tribe.
