Welcome to Afrolizer's Corner. The best way to achieve your goals is to hear from those who have already achieved them. Be inspired, be challenged, but mostly importantly, be ready to seize your moment.
If the word "copy" leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it's robbing you of something so key to your personal growth.
You see, average people think they have to learn everything on their own in order for it to be valuable. Maybe it's an ego thing, maybe it's a no-one-taught-us-any-better thing.
However, great men and women throughout the ages have ALWAYS KNOWN that copying the success of others is the easiest, fastest, and most effective way to get to where you want to go in life.
Whether it's in relationships, business, language learning, whatever. Why do you think the Internet is so full of online marketing for courses to pick up new skills and further develop others?
Copy, tweak, adapt, master. That's the process, learn how to apply it in your life, and you will be ahead of the pack.
There's no greater pain than pouring out your heart to somebody, spending all this time trying to understand the way they think, catering your message to that understanding....only for the message to meet a dead blank stare.
Have you ever found yourself in that situation? Speaking to somebody only to realize they missed your point entirely. Whether that applies to you in a romantic relationship, speaking in front of an audience, or marketing to the masses, you must take the focus off yourself and learn everything there is to know about who you're communicating to in order to be heard.
When you do that, when you hit the mark on what the other person wants to hear...needs to hear...you will find communication to be a much more rewarding and enjoyable experience.
I had taken the audio from an Instagram Live stream I had done a few days before and edited it for this segment
The ability to speak, to connect with an audience, is such an important skill to have. So many people assume they can't change their voice, that it's fixed. I used to believe this myth as well until I had been introduced to the concept that the voice only needs some training to become a powerful force.
In just two weeks, I saw a very noticeable difference in my tonality, overall depth, and confidence while speaking. Even my long-time mentor, who has an incredible voice of his own, took notice of it.
For those that are often self-conscious of their voice, take heed to this message that you can change it with a bit of study and practice, and it will change the way you think about your ability to communicate with others.
This is just a quick look into the content and style I will have moving forward. This was at the tail end of a recording I was making weeks ago, but I felt it was a good place to start as we begin this new podcasting journey.
If you find yourself doing well in life and content with where you're at, you need to find something new to challenge yourself. Being around plenty of millionaires over the past year, I've picked up on a few patterns of theirs that need to be pointed out.
What kills millionaires, slamming them back to square one, is not the stock market, it's not the economy, it's not even the business hitting a long rough season. What kills millionaires is climbing the summit only to rest easy and coast through life up there.
The next thing you know, they've lost the business and are as broke as an 18-year-old college student living off of ramen noodles all day. If complacency and being comfortable with life right now can kill millionaires, what chance do you have?
Only when they started climbing higher mountains, taking more risk, and learning more skills did they get that fortune back. So pick up a new hobby, learn a new skill, do something spontaneous, but whatever you do, don't stay comfortable. Keep growing!
I hear it time and time again.
"People are staring at me."
"I can't dance in a public place."
"You want me to practice here...with all these people around?"
"I can't dance. I don't like being the center of attention."
Do any of these sound familiar? I said most of these myself at one point. But now, people know me SPECIFICALLY as the guy who exclusively dances in public.
What caused this change? After all, even today, I hate being the center of attention. It wasn't changing who I am into something I'm not. Instead, it was leaning into the most authentic part of myself that transformed me into a public dancer.
I love to express myself.
I love to free myself.
I love to be in my own little world.
I love to bring joy to others.
As soon as I saw my dancing in public as a way to achieve all that, I went in 1000%! What's holding you back? If you want to take your dancing to the next level, you're gonna have to ignore the crowds. Ignore the opinions of others and go all in! YOU control how much enjoyment you get
out of dancing, not others. YOU control how far you want to go as a dancer. I have no doubts that you will make all things your personal stage ;)
