BIO :

Gabriel Mentis aka INSOM is a Producer & DJ born in Paris, France - but raised and currently residing in Athens, Greece. Trained classically on the Violin, he then transitioned to various roles in rock bands, an experience which helped develop his musical knowledge and background which he now applies to his music productions and DJ sets alike. Around the age of 14, INSOM (a name taken from his graffiti art days) started to create electronic music using Cubase 2. After initial years of experimentation, Gabriel discovered the alluring sound of Drum & Bass - a style which quickly became his primary genre for musical expression. The year 2009 saw the first ever INSOM release, an offering known as ‘Fire EP’ – which he provided as a free download. Trust in Music followed with the first official release on a label in March 2011, a song entitled Times of Terror. Shortly after in the same year, Melting Pot released ‘Mineral EP’. From then on his music has gone from strength to strength, releasing on labels such as Mindtech, Ammunition Recordings, Abducted LTD, Sinuous, and many more. His sound has quickly developed into one of the most unique in the Drum & Bass genre, gaining recognition from some of the names that inspired his creations. Jade, Billain, Optiv, Neonlight to name a few have support his music in the clubs and on the airwaves. The fast paced sound of Drum & Bass is not the only area he has put energy into. Developing deep Dubstep under the name Wosui, and steppas as part of a duo called Dub Riots – it goes to show the extent of the creative power that Gabriel holds. So far – INSOM has had the honour to play in many locations across the planet. Israel, Bulgaria, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Czech and the UK have all been stops along his musical journey so far. Looking forward, Gabriel is developing his sound both behind the decks and in the studio, he now looks develop the deeper side of his music across the entire tempo spectrum.
