Here's something I have been messing around with. I'm not sure if it should be a BCE song, or something else, but I'm open to suggestions. The inspiration came from Sam Harris's book "Free Will", in which he asserts that free will is ultimately an illusion, something which I wholeheartedly agree with - but it's not like a had a choice...right wink emoticon
"Free will" is the bedrock of Christianity; In Genesis, it is the fundamental ingredient that God gave humans, and something which ultimately led Eve to make a choice to disobey God's commandments *. Not only that, it is something we all intuitively feel; we are the masters of our own universe, the authors of our own dialogue. Yet, dig deeper. We know through neuroscience experiments that we make decisions sub-consciously several seconds before we are consciously aware.
So how exactly are you "free of will", when at bottom, you can't account for the thoughts you have, before you have them? Even if there were no-delay, there is still the mystery of why thoughts arise and sometimes they are X and sometimes they are Y.
