With WrestleMania 40 set to come to Philadelphia next year, a lot of fans have speculated about potential ECW homages at the show, including various former ECW names potentially being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Former ECW World Champion Raven has been a name that some fans have speculated as a name they’d like to see inducted into the Hall of Fame in Philly.
Speaking to PWMania, Raven was asked about a potential induction,where he said that he isn’t expecting an induction to happen, and doesn’t believe Vince McMahon sees him that way.
He said:
“I’m not expecting that to happen. I don’t think they see me that way. I don’t think Vince sees me that way. And obviously, if he saw me in that light, he would have used me better when I was there, so yeah, that’s not happening. I would almost bet everything I own that I’m not going to be inducted this year or any year in the future.
“And I think that’s why the Impact thing means a lot to me. Also, the Impact thing they only do one person a year.”
Raven was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame at last year’s Bound for Glory event.

CM Punk wrestled his first match in Philadelphia in over seven years last night (October 8), when he defeated Daniel Garcia on AEW Rampage.
Punk spoke long on Dynamite about his history in Philadelphia, and one such moment that took place in the city was at the 2006 Survivor Series event, when CM Punk teamed with DX (the Triple H & Shawn Michaels 2006 version) and the Hardy Boyz to face Rated RKO, Johnny Nitro, Gregory Helms & Mike Knox in a Survivor Series Elimination match.

The match was notable for the pre-match promo, where DX were doing their traditional routine, while 18,000 Philadelphia fans chanted for CM Punk, to the point where Triple H had to let Punk speak.
Punk recently spoke about this moment in his career to the Philadelphia Inquirer, saying that the reaction Punk got that night made some people upset, and that WWE used the crutch that it was ‘internet fans’ cheering for him.
Punk said:
“People were mad because, ‘We don’t understand. Why’s this kid over?’ Then they’ll use the crutch of, ‘Oh, it’s just internet fans.’ Yeah, OK, 18,000 people packed the place and they’re all just internet fans but whatever. It means something to me now because it was validation. Like, ‘Yeah. My hard work is paying off. Yeah. People are seeing me and the things that I’m doing and people like me. Let’s go.’ Now I’m in a spot where if that happens, it’s embraced. It’s not picked apart and told why 18,000 screaming people are wrong. Now we’re just like, ‘Yeah, those 18,000 screaming people were right.’”
Those same internet fans packed out a sold out United Center 15 years later, to watch the same man make his return to wrestling following a seven year absence.
Punk’s team went on to clean sweep the heels in that match, for those wondering.

During last night’s taping of Dark: Elevation, former WCW star Crowbar made a surprise appearance, and not only that, but he was accompanied to the ring for his match with Joey Janela by ECW original, The Blue Meanie.
Prior to the match, Janela cut a promo on the Philadelphia crowd, which for anyone who didn’t know, is the spiritual home of ECW.
When Janela tried to make a swift exit, he was forced back into the ring by the Blue Meania. Janela would go on to win the match, but it was a great moment for everyone in attendance.

Former ECW stars Jerry Lynn, Taz, Dean Malenko and Chris Jericho all addressed the crowd after Rampage was taped, and they were also joined by AEW President Tony Khan.
This appears to have been a one off appearance for the Blue Meanie rather than a long-term deal.

The main event of NXT TakeOver: New Orleans was set during this past week’s mammoth tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta when Aleister Black defeated Killian Dain to earn an NXT Title shot at Andrade Cien Almas.
It has been clear for some time that Black is the anointed one in NXT, earmarked by company brass as the future leader of the brand. That was further highlighted by his clean victory over Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia.
But, according to Dave Meltzer, Black was not the originally planned challenger to Almas in New Orleans.
The proposed main event before the company shot two month’s worth of TV in Atlanta was Andrade Cien Almas vs. Lars Sullivan – the 6’3″ juggernaut who has been tearing through everyone in his path of late.
Sullivan did not wrestle at all on the tapings, nor was he even backstage. Furthermore, he has missed all of the developmental brand’s recent live events (he last wrestled on January 6), has not been seen at the Performance Center, and has almost completely disappeared from social media. Other than one random post on February 4, he has been inactive for a full month.

The reason for Sullivan’s sudden disappearance is unclear, with neither Sullivan nor WWE having made a public statement regarding his status. The obvious answer would be injury or illness – a fairly serious one at that if it has kept him off the radar for a full month. We wish Sullivan all the best regardless, and hope to see him back in NXT rings soon.
*UPDATE***
It has since been revealed that Sullivan’s absence was down to a knee injury and an “undisclosed” health issue

Both The Undertaker and Michelle McCool have been spotted in Philadelphia, the site of tomorrow night’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. According to sources of PWInsider, both Undertaker and McCool are said to have flown in Friday night.

WWE reached out to McCool some time back regarding participation in the women’s 2018 Rumble match. Undertaker, meanwhile, is coming off of a cryptic promo delivered at the Raw 25 special at The Manhattan Center, in which he seemed to vaguely hint at retirement. However, rumors have swirled regarding an Undertaker-John Cena match at WrestleMania 34, so an appearance at the Royal Rumble could be the catalyst for something in that direction. Cena is one of the 20 or so confirmed entrants for the Rumble match.
