Hey y’all! You're on the front porch with Mary and Angela and we are SO glad you’re here. All too often, the rural way of life can lead us to feel disconnected and unseen. We are here to make you feel connected, seen, and above all, to let you know how appreciated you are. On this podcast you will hear stories of women who are real, relatable, and raw. Women who make you feel invited, connected, and celebrated. Women who will inspire you and encourage you to step into the fullness of life while navigating the challenges and toasting to the milestones. The Front Porch is a gathering place and for our community, THIS “front porch” is the place where we will get to dig deep, laugh hard, cry a little, and love a lot. So come sit with us! Let’s do life together.
Y’all it’s just us this week on the podcast and we are so happy to be back with you for the final episode of season six!
The season has been incredible. The quality of the content, the caliber of the guests, and the magnitude of the lessons learned and conversations had just leaves us in awe.
Tune in this week to hear us recap this season, give a quick life update, and share something that’s been heavy on our hearts this holiday season ❤️
Dreaming and creating is something we are all capable of and yet, it can be daunting to pursue those dreams, set goals, and take actionable steps toward making those dreams a reality…
UNTIL NOW.
Y’all we are absolutely tickled to share Karoline Rose with you this week On the Front Porch to chat about the steps we can take to transform the things we have been dreaming about into tangible, living, breathing businesses, projects, and pursuits.
In this episode, we chat:
☝️ How to build space in your mind and in your schedule for creativity
✌️ Ways to brainstorm without getting overwhelmed
👌 How to break you lofty goals into small, actionable, daily steps toward progress
🖖 The best ways to measure your progress (and figure out if what you’re doing is actually working!)
🖐 How to identify the activities that move you closer to your goals and how to eliminate the ones that don’t
Above all, this episode encourages us that the dreams on our hearts are put there for a reason. Let’s go chase those things and make them happen!

Whether it’s farming, ranching, side hustles, full-time, part-time, and everything in between, rural women all over the globe would classify as true "entrepreneurs!"
In our "Rural Housewives Family," we know countless of y'all ladies who are movers and shakers, business owners and homemakers, breadwinners and bread bakers (rhymin' all the timin').
That’s why we are SO excited about our show this week!
Our friend Danielle Desir Corbett joins us on the front porch to give us the formula for financial security as an entrepreneur! Hallelujah, right?
But not just that…
Through this conversation, Danielle teaches us:
☝️ The difference between active and passive income streams
✌️ How to diversify the income available to our businesses right now
👌 The number one thing keeping us from a healthy work-life balance as entrepreneurs
🖖 Why it’s necessary to combat the “9 to 5“ mentality
AND above all, why you deserve (and need) to be able to take extended leave as an entrepreneur!
Through giving us the formula for financial freedom in our businesses, Danielle gives us so much more than that!
This conversation is overflowing with wisdom, encouragement, and just the dose of inspiration that we all need. 💗

We keep saying this but, y'all... THIS might be one of our favorite episodes!
On this episode of On the Front Porch with The Rural Housewives, Stephanie May Wilson is here, PSL in hand, to get real with us about dating the right kind of people.
In this episode we talk about how to know if you've found "the one." What does "the one" mean? Whose advice can we trust? Can we trust our gut?
Stephanie shares with us some of the biggest green flags and red flags in relationships which leads us into a real conversation about how to know if it's time to move on or if it's time to fight for your relationship.
Together, we tackle the painful topic of breaking up and moving on. When to do it, HOW to do it, and how to heal.
Like a big hug at the end, we share our very best encouragement for seeking joy in your life, regardless of your relationship status.
And of course, Stephanie shares her heart for our rural bachelorettes with her course Love Your Single Life! Registration opens October 17th! Set a reminder because registration is only open for 5 days!
If you are interested in taking Stephanie's course, send us a message. The first three women who do this will qualify to get their registration fee for the course COMPLETELY PAID FOR by us! First of all, y'all, we believe that you're here today listening to this episode because it was meant for you. We recorded with you in mind and prayed for you specifically - even if we don't know you personally.
This episode is LONG overdue! How many times have y'all heard us say "we need to have an episode about boundaries!" Like a million times, right? Well here it is!
Today on the front porch, Dr. Sasha Shillcutt walks us through her journey to authoring her brand new book, “Brave Boundaries.”
For starters, Sasha gives us a few examples of how boundaries (big and small) have been complete game-changers in her life from the way she spends her morning to the way she fills her calendar and even to the way she shows up as a mom, wife, and friend.
This episode is for you if...
You're unsure whether or not boundary issues exist in your relationships.
You're sure boundaries need to be set - but you're unsure where to start.
You feel unkind when you say "no" to people.
You are afraid of how people will respond if you set boundaries with them.
Sasha speaks truth into all of our concerns about setting boundaries and reached us how to find the places where our life needs boundaries, where to start setting them, how to practice, and EXACTLY what to say if someone doesn't like our boundary.
We are so excited for the ways that this episode will change your life! And honestly, ours too! Thank you, Sacha.

"You are not broken, you are not less-than. Give yourself grace, you are doing the best you can."
In this incredible episode, Valerie Cantella shares what it was like to adopt her sweet baby girl and the process of adopting a child from Russia at the time.
Unbeknownst to Valerie, she had just committed to one of her greatest challenges - parenting a child with special needs.
Valerie shares with us the truth about how she reacted when she first started to discover her daughters unique conditions and the ways that nurturing her daughter impacted her marriage, her relationship with her first born, and her everyday life.
She honestly shares what her worries for her baby girl were (and are) throughout her upbringing and even now as her daughter is gaining independence and stepping out into the world.
We talk about the biggest misunderstandings we have when it comes to children with special needs and what Valerie would like us all to know and understand about a special need child (PLUS what we should teach our own children about children with special needs!)
Last but not least, Valerie shares her encouragement to parents - all parents, and especially those who have a child who requires extra time, attention, resources, and energy.
You can do this, mama. Join us for this life-giving conversation with our friend Valerie!

Today, David owns his own company, Devello LLC, a Business Development Consulting and Executive Coaching firm. Y’all this episode is SO special to us because Arlene and Caite from Barnyard Language originally sent a message wanting to interview US! Can you believe it?!? We were SO honored.
We are usually the ones asking the questions around here, right? Well, for the first half of this episode, we got to be in the interviewee’s seat and share some things you might not know about us, our jobs, our hearts, and our recent obstacles. Arlene and Caite ask incredible questions, y’all. This was such a cool experience!
THEN (our favorite part) we got to interview them right back! Each of them are farmers, parents of multiple kids, podcasts hosts, mental health advocates, and the exact kind of women we need in our corner. You’re going to love their take on rural parenting with the promise of another episode to come!

The Bravo Blueberry Basil Mojito
Ingredients:
8 large blueberries
3 basil leaves
3 mint leaves
Fresh lime juice
1.5 oz. light rum
0.75 oz. simple syrup
Club Soda
Place blueberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker, we use a mason jar. We also like to rip our herb leaves before putting them on top of the blueberries. Muddle these together. Add lime juice (about 1/2 a lime), rum, simple syrup, and ice. Put the lid on and shake it like a polaroid picture. Pour everything into a fresh glass, top with club soda, more ice if needed, and garnish with a lime wedge and basil leaves.

You’ve seen this dynamic duo before, but never quite like this!
Natalie (@nataliekovarik) and Tara (@taravanderdussen) join us on the show this week to give us a heaping dose of encouragement to pursue the big things that are on our hearts.
On this episode, Natalie and Tara teach us how to start sharing our own story, ag or otherwise, with our community (whoever that may be!) AND how to make the most of what we believe we are called to do.
This episode is for you if:
☝️ You have a great message or story to share but you’re not sure where to start.
✌️ You are currently using social media and other platforms to share your message BUT you want to learn how to do it more effectively (and monetize it!)
Or three (and our personal favorite) you’re feeling called to more. There’s a tug on your heart to something big. There’s a feeling in your gut that you are capable of contributing more to this world and you’re missing out if you don’t take a leap.
Let the four of us give you the encouragement, truth, and tips you need to take your next step.
Y’all meet us on the front porch! And don’t miss your opportunity to sign up for Natalie and Tara’s course, Elevate, opening TOMORROW May 31st! 🥳

One out of every six American women is a survivor of sexual abuse.
Women in your town, women in your community, women you see on your feed, women you meet in passing. One in six.
That also means that the chances are one in six of our followers/listeners can relate to Emma’s story.
Today, we are releasing the episode where Emma shares her story as a survivor of sexual abuse.
Emma walks us through her journey, how she was able to stand up for herself, and what her healing has looked like so far.
We walk through this conversation together as we empower each other and anyone listening with TRUTH about who each of us is and who we were made to be.
Abuse is never the fault of the victim but most survivors of sexual abuse blame themselves. Why is that? How can we overcome that? Emma shares her advice and honestly, it’s gold.
What if this hasn’t happened to me but it’s happened to someone I know? How do I talk to them about it? Emma will walk us through this, too!
How do we create a safe place for kids to talk to us about things that make them uncomfortable? Emma reaches back to her 9 year old self to give us the heartfelt answer to this question.
It’s not your fault if this topic makes you uncomfortable. But we’ve got to talk about it.

Hey Front Porch Fam! This week it's just us. That's how we roll in bonus episodes and it's honestly a total blast!
In this episode, we dive deep into a conversation we often have about friendships.
We talk about what to do if you've always felt like "the outside friend."
We talk about the term "best friend" and how it can be harmful.
We talk about where to find your closest and dearest friends.
We talk about how to spend your limited emotional energy.
And we even talk a little bit about friend breakups (which may be the hardest kind.)
Thank you for sitting with us On the Front Porch - we are so glad you're here!

Please give a HUGE Front Porch Family welcome to our sweet friend, Erika!
Erika is a multi-talented and huge-hearted woman with SO much wisdom to share. Today, we’re sharing her with y’all on the newest episode of the show!
In this episode we talk about building connection in small communities and how we can make our communities better.
We talk about finding your people when there aren’t many to choose from and loving each other well.
We talk about the feelings of isolation and loneliness that can come from living so far on the outskirts and how to recognize when your tank is running low.
Erika also shares her heart for motherhood with us and isn’t shy about bringing ALL of it to the conversation - even the tough stuff.
Remember, our goal with every episode is to connect to you with someone who may be going through the same thing as you or may be able to bring light to whatever season you are in right now.
We believe that each and every episode is made especially for someone! If that’s you, send us a message. We love to hear how these conversations touch each heart in our Front Porch Family 💛

Y’all we have maybe never been so excited.
Okay maybe we have BUT this week we sat down On the Front Porch with our sweet friend and mentor Stephanie May Wilson @smaywilson and y’all, she is sunshine in human form.
If you followed us for a while now, you know that Steph is one of our role models and virtual best friends so we wanted more than anything to share her with you, too!
Steph is an author, podcaster, wife, mom (of two beautiful twin girls!), a lover of Jesus, and a lover of people. Steph uses her faith and her life experiences to minister to women in ways that are deep, meaningful, and truly relatable - all with the motto, “Be who you needed when you were younger.”
In this episode, Steph talks us through some of the ways that God totally wrecked her plans and rearranged her life. She’s honest with us about the hard parts and shares how, even when it all seemed messy and confusing, God’s goodness is shining in each part of her story.
This episode has gold nuggets of wisdom for each and everyone of us - but there’s a special little message for our single gals (our rural bachelorettes!)
Last but not least, registration for Steph‘s course, Love Your Single Life, opens today! It’s only open this week so make sure you grab your spot! It will be linked in the show notes as well as in the stories today!
Listen all the way to the end of the episode for a free gift to two of our gals 😉

The labels we use in agriculture to describe who we are and what we do are often a point of contention - especially when tradition comes into play.
Today, we have Cass Johnston @casskjohn on The Front Porch with us to chat about some of the labels we use farming and ranching. This woman wears MANY hats, y’all!
This conversation is meant to be helpful, not hurtful. However, we do talk about touchy subjects so give us the grace of your open heart and open mind and know that we are just 3 women with different backgrounds and from different parts of the country navigating a tough subject that we all three feel strongly needs to be talked about.
You’ll be able to hear that we don’t agree on every detail BUT above all we hope that you hear the one thing we all agree on: your label does not define your value.
We want this conversation to continue. Tune into the episode and send us a message with your thoughts. We can’t wait to hear from you!

It takes audacity to be authentic in a world where society tells you to fit in a box.
Mike Valliere and John Jammall of the band, Copper Chief, take us through a wild ride on the show this week from their origin stories through some failed dreams and on to the key to their success.
These men stand out in any crowd - and they like it that way. But no, it’s not just a show. This is who they are.
Mike shares with us that the truest kind of freedom comes from choosing to be 100% yourself.
Not only that, he and John agree that their authenticity is what has contributed to their success as a group.
Mike and John crack jokes, take shots, and talk us through why it is invaluable to embrace who you were truly made to be.
Y’all are going to love this one.

Y'all, that's a wrap for Season 3! Thank you for joining us on this journey! We've learned so much along the way and are excited for the next 100 seasons.
This was such a fun episode for us - we just got to chat over a glass of wine and record it. We share some of our favorite memories from season 3 and delicious Christmas cocktails alongside them!
We also think that "self care" as it is defined by society is complete BS so join us for that...

"What do you want for Christmas? What are you getting for Christmas? What did Santa bring you?" All questions we can't help but ask kids this time of year. But how to we re-center their little hearts (and ours) on what we are GIVING rather than getting?
In this episode, we talk with our friend Cara Hill about the hectic holiday season and how to keep ourselves and our little ones present in the midst of the chaos.
"This idea began after having children and realizing how society was shifting and making children want "things" for Christmas (or any occasion for that matter) instead of giving.
We also have amazing families who seem to spoil our children for every occasion, which we are very lucky to have, but as a parent it is a little overwhelming! This is why I created The Giving Bag Book, a holiday tradition since 2015!
I hope you and your family will create a tradition of your own with The Giving Bag Book! Together we can bring giving into the hearts of our children!" - Cara

How do I leave a legacy? What is my impact on this world? Who will cherish me while I'm here and remember me when I'm gone?
On this episode, we got to pick the brain of one of our favorite cowboys, Antonio James. His entire platform, Cowboys of Dixie, centers around one of the cornerstones of his life: the things he learned from his incredible "Gramma Dixie."
Antonio is breaking barriers for cowboys and cowgirls all over the world discussing taboo topics like race, faith, what it means to be "cowboy," and so much more. He believes firmly that, no matter where you come from, what your background is, or what you've been told, cowboy is a verb. It's something you are, it's something you live out.
How did Antonio become such a well-rounded, wise man with a fire for inspiring others? Much of it was thanks to his incredible female role model, Gramma Dixie. She was, in Antonio's words, a little bit gangster but always had a heart for other people.
In this episode, we get to speak frankly about what makes us memorable. What did Gramma Dixie have that left such a mark on the next generation and how can we have that, too?
We had so much fun in this episode and couldn't wait to share it with y'all!

How do I talk to the men in my life about heavy subjects? What do I do if my dad, brother, husband, etc. thinks it’s unnecessary to talk about mental health? Will I get shot down? I’m afraid they will think I’m silly, is there a way to start this conversation that will make them take me seriously?
Jason Meadows is with us this week to talk all this and more! You may know Jason from his podcast Ag State of Mind (@agstateofmind). This week, he is on the Front Porch with us to give us some insight into how men approach the conversation of mental health.
Jason gives us a behind the scenes look into his own mental health battles as well as what he has witnessed and learned through his male friendships. He tells us about how to recognize need in yourself and in others. Perhaps most importantly, he gives us some guidelines of how to start the conversation and what to do if we get shot down.
We learned so much from Jason in this episode and it was truly food for our souls! We both have husbands in the fire service and can relate deeply to the way that our men’s mental burdens weigh on them (and us). We want to be their support system, their confidant, and their soft place to fall. We just don’t always know how.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!

How do I know if there's a calling on my heart? I feel like there's some big purpose on my heart, but how do I know for sure? How do I leave a legacy that's bigger than just me?
We talk ALL these things and more this week on this special episode with Chelsey Erdmann! Chelsey is back with us today to share a special project that's been on her heart and mind for a few years and is finally coming to fruition!
She also shares with us the frustration she felt knowing that she had a calling on her heart but not quite sure about the details of what it was or how to pursue it - ever been there? Yeah, us too.
This is an episode that we just love because, though it's short, sweet, and too the point - it's jam packed with wisdom that we all need. Thank you, Chelsey!

Life completely changes when we know ourselves and those around us on a deeper level.
This week on the podcast, we sat down with “T and Cass” from the Type it Out podcast to talk all things enneagram! Whether you’ve heard of the enneagram or not, this is a great episode for YOU.
Imagine a world where we truly understand our own gifts, talents, motivations, and weaknesses. Where we dig deep into the things that we are good at and the things that make us better and we quickly recognize when something needs changing. Imagine a world where we understand those around us better. Where we come to fully appreciate the people we work alongside every day. Where we recognize the gifts and talents given to our family members and our coworkers. Where we have a deep understanding of how to communicate with someone in a way that they will receive. Where we have all the more reason to give grace when grace is needed.
The enneagram is a tool to help achieve that in our families and in our businesses.
We also understand that, for many of us, family and business are not too far removed. Working with family day in and day out can be one of the most challenging and rewarding pieces of the rural lifestyle.
Today, we talk about each Enneagram type, their motivations, their weaknesses, the ways they can thrive, and some of the ways to identify that they may be stressed.
T and Cass are incredible women and we are so thankful to have them as friends. We cannot wait to hear about how this episode changes the way you interact with others and the way that you see yourself!

Feeling like you don’t fit in? Haven’t found “your place“? Wanting to change the world and inspire others, but don’t know where to start? Hey, us too!
Happy Monday y’all! Hope your coffee is strong and you’re ready to rock this morning because we’ve got a real treat for you.
Courtenay DeHoff joins us on the podcast this week to address some of the things that are holding us back - as an industry, and in our own lives.
Courtenay shares her story with us today in a way that is raw and inspiring. She talks to us about how to embrace the fullness of our identity regardless of what’s “expected“ of us. She talks to us about some of the backlash she has endured along her journey. She talks to us about how do you connect with people and show compassion while we share a story that is uniquely ours.
We get passionate, we get controversial, we get real. Recording, editing, and producing this podcast is a true blessing to us. We are better women because of it.
Have a great week y’all! We hope you know how loved you are.

Get the tissues out, y'all! Amanda Radke is here to tell us exactly how challenging, rewarding, and life-changing it is to be a foster parent.
Did you know there are over 400,000 foster children in the United States alone? Did you know that the need for foster parents is so great that some will get a placement the same night their paperwork goes through? Can you imagine how many wonderful children need someone to love them through one of the hardest seasons of their life? Is fostering on your heart? Are you scared you don't have what it takes? Or maybe you are currently a foster parent and burning out?
We are SO grateful to have Amanda here to walk us through all of the above. Over the past two years of fostering, Amanda and her husband, Tyler, have welcomed 12 children into their home. And you know what? Amanda says it's been even more rewarding for her than she could've imagined.
Amanda does not sugar coat a single thing. Fostering comes with challenges and heartbreak, yes. But the need is great and the blessings are even greater. Listen in and send us your questions! All content discussed is provided in the links below!

Have you been pregnant on the farm or ranch? Have you been pregnant and struggled with your identity and your capabilities? Are you looking forward to becoming pregnant someday? Do you have anxieties about pregnancy? Are you afraid you’re not as capable or useful around the farm or ranch if you’re pregnant?
Our friend Amber Bristow is with us today to talk about her struggles and blessings while being pregnant on the farm. And y’all, she doesn’t sugarcoat a single thing.
Amber is a cranberry farmer in Wisconsin and came home to work hard and help her parents run the farm with her husband by her side. When she found out she was pregnant, amber was overjoyed, but also nervous about what that meant for her role on the farm.
On this episode, Amber shares some raw feelings and advice about pregnancy on the farm. It’s an episode for anyone who’s ever been pregnant, considering becoming pregnant, or anyone who’s ever struggled with their identity. (So…all of us.)

How do we help someone struggling with their mental health? How do we talk to our kids about what mental wellness means? How do we share our own stories to positively impact the lives of others?
This week On the Front Porch, we are with our new friend, Andrea Paquette discussing all of the above (and more!) Andrea tells us about how she faced and overcame her struggles with bipolar disorder which led her to start Stigma Free Society - a charity that has designed programs providing education about stigmas with an emphasis on mental health and peer support for those facing mental health challenges with a special focus on youth.
In the last year, Stigma Free Society has also recognized the need for these programs in rural communities and put a great deal of focus into their tools for those of us living agricultural and rural lifestyles. When we heard this, we just knew we had to have Andrea on to tell us all more!
Andrea is fun, funny, fearless, and a true delight. She shares her story with confidence and transparency with the full intention of using her experiences to encourage others to face their own mental wellness struggles. Her heart of gold shines right through as she walks with us into her journey and shares her passion for mental wellness in rural communities.

This week On the Front Porch we are with Melissa Nelson and Michelle Meyers - two of our dear friends from the internet! The four of us established a mastermind group together a few months ago and have been deeply blessed by the benefits.
In this episode we talk about how to reach out to someone you admire on the internet, what to say, what NOT to say, and how to take the next steps in collaborating with them. We also dig deep into how we started our mastermind group and how you can too!
The biggest takeaway we want you to get from this episode is that we LOVE our community and we want you to love yours, too. Take a leap and reach out to someone you want to be friends with! The worst they can say is "no" but it could also lead to some of the most rewarding friendships of your life.

Have you wondered what your purpose is? Have you wondered if your purpose is too big for you? Do you know us? Do you know why we started this podcast, this community?
We think it’s important that y’all understand where our hearts are at in this whole thing. We are not trying to be influencers, we are creating a very specific space in this little slice of the internet.
In this episode, we share a bit of what this this space looks like and our intentions for our friends who are part of The Rural Housewives. Through most of this episodewe are crying and giggling and both of us felt we are either crying or gigglegiggling - but tthat’s life!
Before we hit “record,” we agreed that we had no idea what direction this episode was going to take but that we were going to bare our hearts and let it play out however it may. We both got vulnerable and emotional and honestly, we cannot tell y’all how hard it is to publish that in a public space.
We know deep in our hearts that there is a purpose behind what we are doing and we are so grateful to have y’all on this journey with us!

Do you work with your family? How many challenges come with that? Too many to count? This week, we have our dear friend Chelsey on the front porch with us talking about the dynamics of farming with her family!
This is such a complex topic and Chelsey eloquently describes the different relationships and personalities that come with working alongside her loved ones. She talks us through some of her personal growth, how she has come to recognize differences as strengths, and how it’s okay to know who you work best with (and who you don’t).
Every family is different, just like every farm is different. It’s beautifully complicated to address farming alongside your family. We know that each of you face unique challenges and that this topic could even be painful for some. We would love to hear your story and share it with our listeners.
Your journey can be an inspiration to someone else if you are brave enough to share it! Chelsey, thank you for being brave and letting us in on a slice of life with your family!
Y’all enjoy and go follow our girl.

Have you met Anna Kobza? She is a woman of grit and grace and an extraordinary “ag-vocate”!
Today on the podcast, Anna talks to us about to challenges and the rewards of pursuing a Master’s degree. Have you considered going back to school? Do you know someone considering it? Maybe someone in college right now who is deciding what to do afterwards?
In this episode, we talk truth about what kinds of professions may require a master’s degree and which kinds may not. We talk about the commitment of your time and your efforts and a bit about how to balance that with “real life.” Last but not least, we walk through some of the questions you may want to ask yourself (and others) before you decide to pursue a master’s degree.
If this is something that’s on your heart, know that we are praying for you! We pray that you have the courage to step into something uncomfortable if you feel called to it. We pray that if you choose this path, you will stay resilient in pursuing it. We pray that you know how much love and support is behind you. We pray that you finish well.

June is National Dairy Month!
Have you heard the term "scary dairy" or been encouraged to find dairy alternatives for your health? If you have, you're not alone. Misinformation about nutritious dairy products and the way they are produced is rampant in our current culture.
Emily Shaw is a dairy girl turned fitness professional with a passion for facts about food and facts about agriculture. She is on a mission to squash the lies about food and fitness and to help women feel the very best they can in their bodies.
On the Front Porch with Emily, we talk everything from animal husbandry to climate change, to how to pick the best foods for our bodies. As you can imagine, the conversation gets a little heated at times as we confront food myths and our personal pet peeves. Why is it a faux pas to talk about mental health in agriculture? Why do we feel like we need to be the toughest person in the room in order to be the “best“ farmer or rancher? How do we manage our emotions and the mental health of those around us in such a challenging business?
Great questions. On the front porch this week, we are with our friend Leslie Kelli who digs into every single bit of that and more! We talk about not only the things that hold us back from understanding our own mental health and the mental health of our family and those we work with on the farm or ranch, but also how to address the topic of mental health With our loved ones, our employees, and ourselves.
This episode is not for the faint of heart! Get ready for good, conversation and be ready to dive in head first.
As always, our first and foremost priority is to make sure that we are serving our audience, our listeners, our followers, all y’all. If this episode helps just one person start a conversation, everything we’ve done up until this point is worth it.

Have you ever faced insurmountable grief? Do you know someone else who has? It's also 100% possible that you have walked through grief without even recognizing it. Crazy, right?
This week On the Front Porch, we are sitting down with our friend Barkley to talk about a subject that can be difficult or uncomfortable from any of us - grief. And you may be a little shocked by what she has to say.
Having experienced deep grief in her own life, Barkley is determined to help others recognize losses that have caused this unimaginable ache and move forward despite the fact that some grief never truly goes away.
Through it all, Barkley gives us a beautiful depiction of what it can look like to grieve in a healthy way, how we can help others through grief, and how we can grab hold of hope in the process. This one is heavy, y'all. But its also so, so good.

On the Front Porch this week, we have our friend Hanna Guenther enlightening us on some of the ways we can feed our families (and ourselves) good food. Hannah helps us navigate some of the misconceptions about food labeling and the stigmas about "healthy" and "unhealthy" foods. As rural women, we frequently face the daunting task of planning meals around what will last in the pantry and the freezer. Hannah is no stranger to that game! Whether its during harvest, planting, calving, lambing, or any other season, Hannah teaches us how to plan well, shop well, and cook well to ultimately eat well.

Kiah Twisselman, also known as Coach Kiah, is a life coach, a public speaking rockstar, an advocate for the beef industry, and a true inspiration for women everywhere. This week she takes us through the toxic narrative in our head - the mean things we say about our bodies. She walks us through the misconceptions we have about our health and our confidence because of the lies we have been told (and the lies we have told ourselves). Through our conversation this week, Kiah breaks chains, challenges limits, and truly transforms our mindsets. This is an episode you don't want to miss!

Have you ever felt stuck? Maybe like you've lost your vision for the bigger picture of what you'd like your life to become?
This week we sit down with the original Rural Bachelorette, Jena Ozenna to sip on some Black Rifle Coffee and talk about digging deep in this season of life while also keeping our hearts excited for the future. Jena takes us through career goals, rural single life, and, our personal favorite, "the 2065 activity."
Get a blank piece of paper and do it with us:
In 2065, 44ish years from now, think about what you want your life to look like:
- What do you hope for your quality of life?
- What do you hope to produce?
- What are the people around you like?
- What seems impossible today?
Send us your answers at theruralhousewives@gmail.com or post your answers on Instagram and tag us @theruralhousewives
We cannot wait to see your answers!

Today on the podcast we are with our incredible friend Katie Eason talking about how to be a woman in a man’s world.
Katie is a top notch feedyard manager, a phenomenal wife to her husband, Brad, and as true a friend as you can find.
Y’all we wish we could say that we planned to have this episode launch on International Women’s Day. We didn’t. God had plans far better than ours and he just coordinated it perfectly! You know we don’t believe in coincidences.
Today, the conversation gets real real. If you’ve ever been the only woman in a room full of men, you’re going to relate. This conversation is not about feminism. This conversation is not about female superiority. This conversation is not about masochism. This conversation is about our own insecurities as women, sometimes feeling like we are in a “man’s world“ and embracing our strengths and our differences in spite of our own desire to hold back or fear to step out.
The agriculture industry is full of strong men who are fully supportive of the women who are stepping into agriculture. It’s full of incredible women who have paved the way for future generations and walked so that we can run.
You don’t have to be a man to earn a man’s respect. You don’t have to be anything other than the masterpiece that you are. You are a woman - that is beautiful. God made you that way for a reason. God gave you a very specific purpose and talents to go with it. You are where you are for a reason and only you can fill that space.

This week Mary and Angela dive into the intimate details about how they met the #RuralHusbands
We are getting real! We talk about the cute “how we met” stories but also the messy bits that led to meeting the men we married and how we prepared their hearts, healed old wounds, and dated with intention. We talk about the idea of finding "the one" and how to know if the person you're with is that for you. It's a great week and you might just understand us a little better when this is all said and done!
