You wake up in the morning and suddenly, everyone else has just vanished from earth. What happened? We don't know! But for some reason, you are the last human being on the planet. So what would you do? Travel the world? Tame a pack of wolves and become their alpha?

Listen to our random, uninformed conversation in which we explore the ideas we have for this very interesting scenario!

Another book review, this week: Paul Gilding's 'The Great Disruption'. This book talks about the connection between our economic system and climate change. We talk about why infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible and how our economy has to change in order to adapt. Of course, we also discuss the question of the week: What is so important to you, that without it, life wouldn't be worth living?

Have fun listening!

Relatable and insightful or pop psychology inflated by anecdotal evidence? This week, we are reviewing the book 'the velvet rage' by Alan Downs. The psychologist writes about the struggle of growing up as a gay man in a heteronormative society, giving many examples from the clients that talked to him about this topic. Discussions along the way: is there 'the one' partner for you? how do societal norms influence us in our ideas of happiness? How does shame hold us back from being our authentic selfs? And, of course, are all gay men hypersexual?

P.S.: We are very sorry to our one listener for being late with uploading this episode, we'll try to do better in the future. Love you xx

A law student, a literature student and a psychology stundet are bored during corona. We start this first episode by talking about a tweet that Wouter encountered and end up with thinking about the role of government (no, we obviously did not prepare a script for this one). Questions we are discussing on the way: Is it easier or harder being a student during corona? Can you change the market with the power you have as consumer? Or are you as an individual powerless? Who is responsible for change, we ourselves or our government? Should there be patents for medication?

One of the things that make life worth living are our friends. But how do we actually make friends? Especially when moving to a new city, starting a new study or a job, this is an essential skill (so you won't spend all your free time with your housemates who will force you to start a podcast with them). We talk about how to approach new people and how long it takes to become friends with someone (quoting research by Robin Dunbar and Jeff Hall).
