SIA (SiHyun Uhm)
SiHyun Uhm is a Classical and Film/Game composer, pianist, multimedia producer currently based in Rochester, NY. She is a Composer Fellow with Intimacy of Creativity, Red Note Workshop, has received prizes from Leopold Auer, Future Symphony, NY Composers’ Circle, Frost, Next Notes, National YoungArts, Golden Key Festival, Avalon Competition, MTNA, and CBS National Youth Competition.
She has been featured in the magazine International Piano, several newspaper articles, and her music has been played on several radio stations in Europe and the USA. As a conductor, SiHyun has won several Choir Competitions as a conductor, including competitions sponsored by the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and the Music World Competition. As a pianist, she has accompanied numerous professional soloists.
Her distinctive and interactive musical style is recognizable to audiences, and since the release of her first album in 2017, the listenership of her music has continued to grow.
Ladybug In The Room is an orchestra piece written during November in 2018. It was based on a special story when the ladybug got in to my room and lived almost---throughout the winter. Send me any questions you have :)Thank you

첫번째 보다는 조금더 여유있고 차분하고 재미있는 아기펭귄의 발소리와, 모험에서 느껴지는 행복함이 느껴지는 곡 입니다!

Spontaneous for Flute, Violin, Double Bass, and Piano First Performed in 02/21/2018 in Hatch Recital Hall

Program Note: The main theme of this piece spontaneously popped into my head while I was in a chamber concert. It was so spontaneous that right after the concert, I immediately started playing the piano and wrote down the notes. In the piece, there are frequent incorporations of chromatic – the beginning of the melody is established with 0-1-12 which occurs throughout the piece in different rhythms and forms and it creates a unity in the piece. The following middle section continues to use 0-1-12 and is intertwined with each instrument which generates an expressive and dreamlike quality. After unique interweaved solos of violin, flute, and piano, it goes back to A prime section which mimics the original A, however, in a sarcastic way. Hope you enjoy the piece!
